Chapter 515: Chapter 515: Plans in Motion
After breakfast, they made their way back to the apartment. The familiar quiet of home greeted them as soon as they stepped inside.
Damon set their bags down by the door, while Svetlana slipped off her shoes and walked toward the living room, taking a deep breath as she settled in.
It didn’t take long before they were both unpacked and back into a rhythm. Their space felt normal again. But the conversation from earlier stayed with them, and before long, it came up again.
They sat together on the couch, both of them resting for a while. Damon glanced over at her, then spoke. “We should tell them all at once.”
Svetlana turned toward him, curious.
He continued. “A gathering. Everyone together. We make it a celebration. Announce the engagement… and the baby.”
For a second, she just watched him. Then a small smile formed. “I like that,” she said. “Better than telling everyone separate.”
They started talking it out. Who to invite, where to hold it, how soon they wanted to make it happen. It wasn’t long before they were both making lists. Close friends, family, Aoife, Victor, and Macey, of course. Ashley, Joey, Ty, Edward… the people who mattered most to them.
They knew it was the right move. They could celebrate this together, and give everyone a chance to be part of it.
And as they planned, it started to feel more real.
Their life was changing. But it was their life now.
And they were ready to share it.
But throughout the planning, they found time to have deeper conversations. Conversations they’d both been holding off.
Their careers came up first.
Svetlana had already decided to put her work on hold, she had been helping Macey with the family business for a while now, and while it wasn’t something she wanted to step away from completely, she knew she had to.
It made sense.
She was fine now, healthy, active. But they both knew there would come a point where things would get harder. When she’d be the one needing more help, not offering it.
That brought up another topic.
Damon’s career.
He was at the peak of it. Middleweight World Champion. The next obvious step was the UFA title shot. Everything he had worked for was right there in front of him.
But the timing was complicated.
He didn’t want to be fighting while she was struggling through the later stages of the pregnancy.
He didn’t want to be absent when she needed him the most.
And the thought of missing anything, of not being there for her, wasn’t something he could live with.
So they talked about it.
How later on, he’d need to take time off.
How he’d have to step back and be present.
And Damon had already thought about what that meant for his career.
If he took too long off, he might lose his momentum. He might lose his title shot.
But if he could make it happen before things got harder for Svetlana… before the pregnancy reached the final stretch…

He could win the title.
Then he could take a break as a champion.
It wouldn’t be easy. Nothing ever was.
But it was the best option they had.
And Damon was determined to make it work.
Damon knew stepping away for a while would come with its own challenges. The UFA wasn’t known for waiting around. They had contenders lined up, ready to move on to the next big fight if a champion went inactive for too long.
He understood how it worked.
Business was business.
And he was fine with that.
If he had to give up an opportunity to be there for his family, then so be it.
But in his gut, he believed a few months wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Fans might understand. At least the real ones.
They knew his story. They knew what he’d fought through to get here.
If they didn’t?
He could live with that too.
A few months off wasn’t forever.
And when he came back, it wouldn’t be as a contender clawing for a spot.
It would be as a man who made the right choice.
And that mattered more to him now than keeping a perfect career timeline.
He glanced at Svetlana, watching her jot down notes about the gathering they were planning.
Yeah.
He was making the right call.
They spent the next couple of days making calls. It wasn’t anything formal, but both Damon and Svetlana wanted to speak to everyone personally.
Damon reached out to his circle, Joey, Ty, Edward, and a few others from the gym. They were all quick to respond, excited when they heard there was something big to celebrate.
No one asked for specifics, though Damon could tell they were curious. He let them sit with it.
Svetlana called Victor and Macey, who were more than happy to open their home for the gathering. Their house had the space, and it felt like neutral ground.
Damon didn’t argue. It made sense. He just made a quiet promise to himself that the next time, it would be in their home, when they finally had one of their own.
Aoife had been on the phone too, constantly checking in with Svetlana. The two of them were close
She’d offered to cook something for the gathering, and despite Macey’s insistence on handling the food,
The big family energy was something Damon wasn’t used to, but he found himself settling into it easier than he expected. No one knew about the baby yet.
After the last call was made, Damon set his phone down on the kitchen counter and exhaled quietly. The apartment was calm again, sunlight creeping through the windows as the afternoon settled in.
Svetlana was on the couch, her legs tucked under her, going over a list she was putting together, mostly who was bringing what and small details about the gathering.
Damon stepped over and sat beside her, leaning back into the cushions. For a few seconds, they didn’t say anything. It was a comfortable kind of quiet.
“You think it’s too much?” Svetlana asked suddenly, glancing at him from the side.
He shook his head.
“No. It’s family and friends. It should be something good.” She nodded, tapping her pen against the pad of paper before setting it aside.
They both knew this wasn’t just about the announcement. It was about everyone finally seeing them as something more permanent. And for Damon, that mattered.
Growing up, there wasn’t a lot of stability.
Now he was building something real.
And people were going to see that.
