Chapter 646: Chapter 646: The Last Word
Damon moved in with the confidence of a man who knew the end was his to claim.
Jon’s legs were heavy, each step dragging across the canvas, his shoulders slumped and his guard hanging low.
Damon saw the fatigue in his eyes, there was nothing left but stubbornness and a fading will to fight.
He kept his movement crisp, feet light, his stance switching between orthodox and southpaw as he sized up Jon from every angle.
Damon pawed out a jab, not to land but to draw Jon’s hands up. Jon flinched, his gloves twitching to meet the feint, and that was all Damon needed.
He slipped inside, throwing a tight left hook that snapped Jon’s head to the side, sweat and blood flying from his hair.
Jon tried to respond with a desperate right, but Damon saw it coming, he dipped his head under the shot, twisting his hips and firing a shovel hook to Jon’s ribs that landed with a meaty thump.
Jon’s breath whooshed out, his knees buckling for a split second.
Damon stepped back, giving himself space, measuring Jon’s sluggish recovery.
He pressed in again, this time throwing a right low kick that smacked Jon’s thigh and left him stumbling sideways.
The crowd was on its feet, the roar rising with every shot Damon landed. The commentary team was shouting over the noise.
“Damon Cross is closing the show here!” the first commentator bellowed. “Jon’s got nothing left, he’s just trying to survive!”
“He’s getting lit up!” the second commentator said. “Damon’s mixing everything, body, head, angles, Jon can’t keep up!”
Jon threw another slow jab, but Damon just parried it aside with his left glove, slipping inside and slamming an elbow across Jon’s cheek.
Jon staggered back, his eyes dazed, and Damon followed with a crisp one-two that cracked against Jon’s forehead.
He didn’t let up. He feinted low again, making Jon drop his hands to protect the ribs, and Damon came over the top with a looping right that rattled Jon’s skull.
The impact turned Jon sideways, his legs struggling to hold him up.
Damon stepped in, his own breathing calm and measured, his focus absolute.
He peppered Jon with a short hook to the body, then a quick uppercut that snapped Jon’s chin up.
The power in Damon’s shots was there, every punch was a promise, and he wasn’t missing.
Jon tried to back away, but Damon cut him off, moving with precision, his feet always under him.
He threw a left hook that clipped Jon’s temple, then pivoted to the right and fired another to the ribs, Jon’s body folding from the impact.
“Jon’s about to go!” the first commentator yelled, his voice rising with the crowd. “Damon’s pouring it on!”
Damon kept pressing, each punch flowing from the last.
He let his hands go, right to the body, left hook to the head, another right upstairs.
Jon’s head snapped back, his arms dropping for a moment, and Damon knew this was it.
He stepped in close, his shoulder brushing Jon’s chest, and launched a final left hook that caught Jon flush on the jaw.
Jon’s eyes rolled back for a moment, his legs giving out beneath him. He fell straight back, his arms splaying out, hitting the mat with a heavy thump.
The referee dove in immediately, waving it off, and Damon stepped back, his breathing steady as he looked down at the fallen warrior.
The crowd erupted in a roar that shook the arena, a wave of noise that filled every inch of the air.

Damon raised his hands, sweat and blood dripping from his brow, his chest heaving with exhaustion and triumph.
He had done it. In the end, it hadn’t been close. It had been decisive, an exclamation point on a war that had tested every part of him.
The last word had been his.
Damon roared, a deep, primal shout that echoed through the T-Mobile Arena, the fans roaring back at him in a wall of sound.
He sprinted across the canvas, grabbing the top of the cage and pulling himself halfway up the fence, pounding his chest with both fists.
The cameras caught every second, the arena lights bright against his sweat-slick skin.
Two UFA officials in sharp black suits ran in, moving fast to pull him back down.
One grabbed at his waist, the other at his arm, trying to keep the show under control, but Damon ignored them.
He turned his head to the crowd, eyes wild, face lit with a fierce, unstoppable grin.
The crowd fed off his energy, their cheers growing louder, hands reaching up from the front rows as if they could catch that moment and hold it forever.
The officials finally got a solid grip, pulling him back down to the canvas. Damon didn’t fight it.
He dropped lightly to his feet, still grinning, blood and sweat running down his face, and took a deep breath.
His heart was still hammering, his lungs burning, but he didn’t care.
He raised one glove high, his other hand still beating at his chest.
He soon walked back to his corner, his steps steady despite the exhaustion in his limbs.
His vision was blurred from the cut and the sweat, and the cutman moved quickly to clean it up, pressing a cold compress to the swollen skin.
Damon didn’t flinch, didn’t look away from the center of the cage, still feeling the rush of the fight in his veins.
When they were done, Damon turned and hugged Victor tightly, feeling the weight of his coach’s hand patting his back.
The old man’s voice was low, words of pride and relief that Damon didn’t need to hear to understand.
He pulled back and saw Ronan Black standing just outside the octagon.
Ronan held his hanf up, his face a mask of respect and calm authority. Damon walked over and extended his hand.
Ronan shook it firmly, his eyes meeting Damon’s. “Hell of a fight,” he said, his voice just loud enough for Damon to hear over the din of the crowd. “You showed them why you’re the best tonight.”
Damon nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Thank you,” he said simply, his breathing still heavy.
Ronan gave him a look that was both approving and challenging. “Enjoy this one. You earned it.”
