That night when Kate got on her bed, she was happy. She couldn’t believe that Marissa was slowly handing over the reins to her. And there must be only one reason.

She was scared. The cute fatty girl was scared.

The damn woman was aware that Kate was more deserving. The way she was treating her, it was evident that she had accepted her defeat.

Kate could feel her phone vibrating, but she chose to ignore it. It couldn’t be anyone but Amir. He wanted to come back into her life however Kate didn’t want him anymore.

Ultimately Nina had to let go of the power she had on Rafael.

“So that’s final,” she told herself while clutching the pillow against her chest, “No matter how faithful I stay with Marissa or Nina. I need to give more importance to Valerie. She would be my key to success. I just need to win her heart and trust.”

Kate closed her eyes not knowing what the next day would bring her. She was sure it would be better and more productive.

She couldn’t wait to face the new challenges and the new opportunities.

The key to success was to hold on to Valerie.

Shang Chi held his two-month-old baby and kissed his forehead. His wife was cleaning the kitchen counters, humming to herself.

Ever since he was employed in MSin, he was getting paid a handsome amount. His wife was more than happy for the last few days.

Due to their financial situation, she used to get worried a lot. But lately, she had started laughing more. Her mood had gotten better.

He was still confused about what had gotten into Delinda.

“You look so serious!” his wife sat beside him and kissed his cheek, “What were you thinking?”

With a sigh, Shang wrapped his one arm around her, “Nothing. It’s just Delinda. Lately, she has been rude to Marissa for no reason.”

“Shang!” she hooked her arm through his, “People usually go after power… money… they don’t value humanity anymore. A few months back, we were almost hand to mouth. Thanks to the company, we are carefree now. And I’m proud of you that you always chose honesty. This Delinda lady… She might be the bad news. Let’s not be judgmental towards Marissa and support her if you think she is a decent person.”

“Oh, she is… it’s just that…” he shrugged, “I think our CEO… Rafael Sinclair… he might be developing some kinda crush on Marissa.”

“If it’s an extramarital affair then maybe this makes sense. What I’ve heard from you, Marissa is an amazing human.”

He took a look at his sleeping baby’s face, “She is. No doubt.”

“Then let’s not give a damn about Delinda,” she said leaning her cheek to his arm. He kissed her forehead and thought to himself.

How lucky I am to have a perfect family.

He didn’t know what the next day would bring to him. But he wasn’t planning to hate Marissa based on some shitty rumors. Her personal life shouldn’t be anyone’s concern.

He didn’t know, what the next day would bring him. He was sure it would be better and more productive.

He couldn’t wait to face the new challenges and the new opportunities in MSin. It was only the beginning.

Instead of going to sleep, Valerie was twisting and turning in her bed. When she got back from Nina’s room, she went straight to the bed.

Ethan couldn’t come to her room anymore because she couldn’t trust Nina so easily. If her spies were around, then she might be in trouble.

Her heart was sinking just by thinking about what was cooking between Marissa and Rafael. What would she do if he would reject her?

No matter how friendly Nina might be with her, ultimately, she was also her enemy.

She still remembered how Nina threatened her to buy the most expensive property in Kanderton.

The only expensive place in Kanderton was White Palace.

She lazily placed her hand under her pillow and took out her phone to talk to Ethan.

“Hey, Val. You are still awake,” she smiled when heard his voice.

“Who is the richest man of Kanderton, Ethan?” she asked him without any greetings. If he felt it, he didn’t remark.

“It used to be a businessman who left the city after his son’s death. The second rich man still is Mr. Armani Cole.”

“Still?” Valerie got up and moved her legs to the edge of the bed, “If Armani Cole is still second then who is first now?”

“Your husband,” Ethan said with a sigh, “Why? Why are you asking?”

“Remember that estate agent? He said that the White Palace was bought by another businessman for his wife?” she tried to remind him.

“Yes. I do remember. Why?”

“Ask that estate agent, Ethan. If Armani Cole is the man, then I need to meet him.”

Ethan seemed to be thinking for a moment. Valerie wanted that White Palace badly. Before Nina could buy it, she wanted to ask Rafael to purchase it for her.

Along with Marissa, she also wanted to defeat Nina when she was least expecting it.

“Why don’t we go there first thing tomorrow?” he asked her, “You can go to the office after meeting the agent.”

“Hmm. Good idea.”

She didn’t know what the next day would bring her. She wanted to spend the next day in that office like a boss.
