Chapter 206: 206- I Should Show These Ladies
The next morning, Marissa stepped on the VIP floor of MSin with a big grin on her face. Everyone on the floor could notice the glow on her face.
“Some people are getting more gorgeous day by day,” she spun around when heard Dean’s amusing voice.
“Hey!” She slapped his shoulder and flashed a smile at him.
This morning when she left the hotel suite, Rafael was still sleeping like a baby. It seemed like he was the one who got multiple climaxes last night.
“So, I hope everything was good at your end,” Dean offered her to take a seat and took another one before her.
“Everything is perfect!” she squeezed her eyes and Dean’s expression softened a bit.
“That I can see,” he picked up the pen from his desk and started flipping it in between his fingers.
Marissa checked her phone if there was any message from Rafael.
No. There wasn’t.
She raised her face only to find Dean looking at her.
She shrugged her shoulders, “What?”
“Your friends. Those teammates. This morning, they arrived at the office earlier than usual to meet you,”
“My friends?” she muttered and followed his gaze only to look over her shoulder. Her team members were standing there in a group.
They were the same people who didn’t attend her venue presentation. She slowly got to her feet and turned to them with a questioning look.
One of them cleared his throat and spoke, “W… we are … here to say sorry…”
He couldn’t finish it when saw Marissa’s gaze turning sharp, “I expected better from you all,” she said softly, “I thought of you as my team… My family. You were supposed to be on my side!”
She spread her arms with a quivering smile, “I don’t know what else you want. You chose Mrs. Sinclair. Now why are you here?”
Shazma stepped forward and swallowed, “We’re sorry,” she hurriedly explained, “we got carried away, thinking that they were the bosses. That was what we were told and we almost got exploited. Until Mr. Sinclair…”
Marissa’s eyes snapped up to her face, “Mr. Sinclair? What about him?”
“He talked to us. He said we owe you an apology. We wanted him to bring us back, but he said he wouldn’t do anything. It’s you who will decide if we should stay on the Diamond floor or come back here on the Gold floor.”
Marissa didn’t know what to say anymore. Rafael was trying hard to silently demand the people around her to pay her the due respect.
She stayed silent for several seconds until a soft smile broke on her lips, “Fine. Come back to this floor…” All the teammates who were standing there, their faces lit up, but Marissa immediately raised her hand, “But wait. Before coming here, you need to do something for me. If you all fail to do it, then…” she rolled her eyes a little dramatically.
“Tell us,” Kate spoke for the first time, “What do we need to do?”
“Hmm. Interesting question,” Marissa smiled but then it fainted when her eyes met Delinda. She had this weird expression on her face as if someone had forced her to stand there.
Marissa could feel them holding their breath in anticipation, not knowing what she might demand.
“Well! Tomorrow morning, I need an invitation for a lavish breakfast where you people will feed me butter croissants along with a caramel frappe.”
When she was done with her demand, they all stared at her in surprise.
“That’s it?” A woman asked not sure if she heard that right.
“That’s it!” Marissa shrugged and then heard chuckles from the small crowd.

They shook her hand, one by one before going inside the conference room that was booked for them.
“Delinda,” Marissa stopped her, “If you don’t want to stay here, I can arrange one of the Diamond floors for you,” She barely tried to hide the smugness in her voice.
Delinda pressed her lips tightly before shaking her head, “No. I’m good. I guess, I should go back so that I can start my work.”
Without another word, Marissa watched as Delinda followed her colleagues.
She turned and found Dean standing there with his raised hands, “Hi five, Marissa!”
Marissa quickly slapped her hands against his.
“I think I should head to my office,” she bit her tongue in between her teeth when realized what she had said, “I mean…” she kind of felt embarrassed, “I mean to the President’s office,” she said with a nervous smirk.
Dean who was observing her, moved his hand in the air frantically, “Oh. Isn’t it the same thing?” and then whispered near her ear, “After all you are the one who is his wife,” he said with a wink, “It’s your office too.”
She got back to his desk and opened her laptop, “I can’t believe it. The event day is drawing closer, and we still couldn’t find anything good.”
“Why?” Dean who was leaving for his coffee got back to his seat, “Didn’t you shortlisted a few venues?”
“We did! But when a problem arises, they expect us to make adjustments. One venue isn’t allowing us to display the murals except for their entrance. The other one was happy to be contacted but then they had some water drainage issues,” she leaned back and stretched herself.
“Do you want me to help you with the list of venues?”
“I do have got the list,” she typed on her laptop and then slid it over to him so that he could take a look.
She found him observing the screen when a question popped up in her mind, “Can you give me back my laptop?”
She reached out, “I need to have the info about Kanderton’s most expensive property list.
“Oh. You don’t need a list for that,” Dean said with his eyes still glued to the screen, “It’s White Palace.”
“White Palace?” she whispered. That was her favorite property. Something, she often dreamed for herself but Alas. She couldn’t afford it.
Suddenly her eyes started gleaming with excitement, “Dean. How about we approach the owner of White Palace and arrange everything there?”
She noticed several lines on his forehead, above the laptop, “White Palace? It’s a residential property, Marissa.”
“What if we talk to the owner to let us rent it? We can hire extra staff to serve at the event. We can come up with our own decoration ideas and … we’ll be free to use the mural designs wherever we want.”
“That’s a good idea,” Dean closed the laptop, “But I’ve heard it is already sold. The new owner is quite touchy about it,” He then leaned forward and whispered, “I once heard Valerie and Nina fighting for it.”
“Fighting? But why?”
“They seemed kind of interested in buying it, but the new owner is staying anonymous and isn’t ready to meet them yet.”
Oh!
Marissa curved down her lips, “if that’s the case, I’ll talk to Rafael. He might come up with a solution. If the owner isn’t meeting Sinclair women, then maybe I should show these ladies that the property they are after is easily in my grasp.”
She thought with a smug smile on her face.
