Chapter 207: 207- A Very Impatient Man
“So, it means we are still without a venue?” Kate asked her when Marissa shared with her team members about the venue selection.
Nobody was expecting this problem. Getting an ideal venue that could be this challenging in Kanderton was astonishing for them.
Marissa didn’t want to share her plans about White Palace. She needed to talk to Rafael first before committing anything to the group.
Delinda was sitting in the far end of the conference room and wasn’t participating that willingly in any discussion. For a split second, Marissa felt sorry for her.
There might be some reason that she was showing that stubbornness. She might have suffered a lot.
However, Marissa reminded herself that almost every single soul must have gone through some trials. Delinda could put some effort into bringing out her best. Instead, she decided to go against it.
Ignoring Delinda’s existence, Marissa continued the discussion when the door behind her opened abruptly and she got a whiff of the familiar male cologne.
Rafael!
Her heart missed a beat.
She slowly turned and found him leaning against the door frame quite casually. His eyes were studying her boldly and Marissa could feel her face heating up.
“Good morning, Mr. Sinclair,” one of them greeted him and all of them stood up from their seats.
“I can see that you are back to your team in charge,” he stated, looking at the audience, “Please do remember that you need to take my orders very seriously. I assigned her the duty to be your head. But if you want someone else? Go and make your own company and hire anyone of your choice,” There was a slight warning in his formal tone.
Nobody tried to argue with him.
He then turned to Marissa in a very casual way, “Ms. Aaron. You told me to bring that report to my office. I can’t see it on my desk.”
Marissa’s brows knitted in confusion, “Report?”
What report was he talking about?
“Yeah. The report. Please bring it to my office. Now!” he said in a no-nonsense tone.
“S…sure…” she blinked and glanced at her audience.
“I’ll get back to you in a while,” she addressed her audience, “Till then you all can come up with your favorite interior designs and themes.”
She turned around and followed Rafael, exiting the conference room. Her laptop was still placed on Dean’s desk and Dean was nowhere in sight.
“Which report are you talking about?” she asked him while opening her laptop. She was still standing and bent down to have a better look at the laptop screen.
“D…don’t do that!” he said in a hoarse whisper.
“Don’t do what?” she didn’t move her eyes away from the screen, “You just asked for some report. Didn’t you?”
“Yeah. I did. But you settle your ass on that chair instead of raising it in the air. It’s too tempting, not to smack it.”
Marissa’s eyes went wide when she heard that. She quickly moved her head to look around to check if someone was nearby.
Thankfully no one was there.
“I made sure that people aren’t close by,” he rolled his lips between his teeth and Marissa wanted to push him until his body hit the wall.
“This is your office, Rafael,” she reminded him with a murmur and took the seat.
“Yeah. Thanks for reminding me. But why did you decide to sit when I was enjoying the view.”

Marissa’s heart thudded in her chest when she felt him standing behind her. He bent down, his face very close to her neck.
For other people, he was leaning casually to have a better look at the laptop screen. His warm breath on Marissa’s neck reminded her of last night when the same mouth was sucking her…
Oh!
She shuddered and he felt it too.
“If you want, you can come inside the office, and I’ll make sure to fulfill the wish that’s there in your eyes.”
She could sense the mischief in his tone and fought to control her grin. His lips gently touched her neck, and she closed her eyes gritting her teeth.
She warned him in a low whisper, “Behave yourself, Rafael,”
“I’ll try!”
“Hello, Mr. Sinclair!” They both almost jumped when heard Dean’s voice.
“Hmm. Hello,” Rafael straightened and nodded curtly at him before looking down at her, “Ms. Marissa. The report, please. Don’t forget,” With that, he went to his office door and pressed his thumb to unlock it.
“Which report is he talking about?” Dean asked her and she kept staring at her laptop screen with a poker face.
“Umm… I … I… don’t remember… maybe a…about the venue or something…” God. Why was she stuttering? Maybe because she knew Rafael wasn’t interested in any report.
She wanted to murder Dean because of the smugness on his face.
Dean wasn’t a fool not to realize that Rafael wasn’t an active boss for the Kanderton event. It was Joseph’s job.
“Yeah. You should go right away. I bet the report is very important,” he sat down in his seat and started revolving his chair playfully.
“I know. Right?” Marissa nodded at him, “Can you… ask my teammates to finalize some color schemes for the venue until I’m busy?”
Rafael didn’t miss the satisfaction in her eyes when she took out a small mirror from her purse and examined her face.
“Don’t worry. I’ll ask them to come to me,” he offered somberly.
“Thanks,” she placed her mirror back in her purse and scratched her forehead, “I was thinking about… Valerie and Nina. They still haven’t arrived.”
“Why are they getting on your nerves, Marissa? They are adults and do not even have anything to do here. Let them do whatever they want,” he pointed to Rafael’s office door with his thumb, “You go inside and discuss the report. He must be waiting impatiently.”
Marissa missed the teasing in his voice.
“Hmm. I should go right away,” she said pointing her finger in the same direction, and walked away when Dean called her from behind.
“Marissa?”
“Yes?”
“Your laptop!”
“What?”
“I said laptop. Take it with you. Or the report is tucked away in your purse?” Marissa turned red in embarrassment.
“I’m sorry,” with a nervous chuckle, she picked up her laptop. Her feet seemed to turn into lead blocks because she could still feel Dean’s eyes on her back.
She placed her finger on the detector and the door unlocked with a whizz. She quickly got inside and closed the door behind her.
Rafael must be standing close by because when she stepped inside, he held her by her waist from behind. “What took you so long, Marissa?” his hot breath again fanned her neck and this time he kissed it hard, “You might not know but lately, I have become a very impatient man.”
