Chapter 218: 218- Crazy, mad woman.
“You tell me,” Nina tried to keep her demeanor as casual as possible. This was after so many years a good-looking man had approached her, “What brought YOU here, Andrew.”
“Nothing,” suddenly there was a bitter smile on his face, “I am here to wrap up my business. Most of it is either sold or transferred,” His gaze was fixed on some unseen spot on the table.
Nina felt strange at the sudden shift in the air. He had gotten more serious, his initial playful smile was gone.
“Is everything alright?” Nina asked in concern. Now she could see sadness in those eyes.
“Yeah. Just consider yourself lucky to bring a daughter-in-law to the club. It means you love your son. I lost everything a few years ago. After that, there wasn’t much left for me in Kanderton. That’s when I decided to move away from this place.”
“What happened to Kanderton?” she knew she had overstepped so she quickly shook her head, “I’m sorry, don’t answer that.”
“No, no. It’s OK. A few years back, I lost my twenty-four-year-old son,” he said it so easily and so casually that Nina felt her heart going out to him.
The music was still loud but not as wild. She couldn’t believe they had been talking loudly all this time, “I’m sorry.”
“No. Don’t be. By the way,” he looked around, “I can’t find your daughter-in-law nearby,” Nina shrugged and glanced at the bar that seemed crowded.
“She’ll be back any minute,” she said with a tight-lipped smile. A few youngsters stopped by to greet him.
“They all seem to know you!” she remarked after they left, and he shook his head.
“Not me. It’s my home that got quite popular after the construction. It was a dream come true for me. I got it made for my son but…” there was pain on his face, “He couldn’t live in it. Life didn’t allow him much time.”
Nina felt sorry for him.
“I hope you get to find your happiness in your dream house.”
He shook his head with a chuckle, “It’s no more a dream house. For me, it’s a cursed house that took away his life. That’s the reason, I moved away from there.”
“I can understand,” she nodded at him and then pointed to his glass, “Should I order more wine for you?”
“Huh?” he looked at his glass and then smirked, “No. I don’t let beautiful women buy me drinks. It should be me to buy you a drink, actually.”
Nina liked him. He seemed to be a gentleman.
He signaled a waiter and asked him to bring two wines, “B…but my daughter-in-law must be back any minute. There is no need!”
He didn’t look convinced, “If she returns have your drunk with her. No issue.”
Nina got quiet after that. Being a hot-headed woman, it wasn’t an easy task to convince her of anything and he did it so easily.
She wondered if he lived near her hotel. That area also belonged to the elite class.
“Which hotel are you staying in?” Nina asked him.
“Hotel? Oh, no no. No hotel. I have sold my property, and the new owner has allowed me to stay there for a few nights.”
“That’s so nice of him,”
“If you want, I can give you a visit to my former home,” he offered her meaningfully and Nina wanted to decline the offer.
Why would she go to his home like a hooker? She had class!
Before she could say anything, he covered her hand that was placed on the table, “Think twice before saying no. Most people will do anything to have a look at the interior of the White Palace.”
Nina’s eyes snapped up to his face. White Palace?

Did he say White Palace?
“Y…you…” she tried to speak, and he smiled softly.
“There was a time, I owned the White Palace.”

Shaking her head, Valerie made her way through the crowd, she reached the bar and placed the order. As she waited for her drinks, she heard a voice behind her, “Mrs. Sinclair? Oh my Gosh, is this you?”
Valerie turned slowly to find a woman standing there. She was excited to meet Valerie while Valerie was having a hard time recognizing her. She had seen her at the MSin office.
“Oh. Sorry. I’m Delinda,” she extended her hand for a handshake. Valerie was in no mood for MSin stuff.
She already regretted her decision to come to the bar. She shook Delinda’s hand without showing any enthusiasm.
“How have you been? You don’t look good to me,” now what kind of remark was that? What did this woman think of herself?
“Were you sick or something? I can see the dark circles too. Oh, well. I know why you look like this,” she held Valerie’s hand gently and whispered, “I bore this pain, Mrs. Sinclair. I know what you must be going through.”
Valerie wanted to push the other woman and get back to Nina. She had this strange crazy look on her face.
“When my George was little, my ex also had an affair with this woman. She also had two daughters just like Marissa.”
Valerie’s brows furrowed in surprise, “Two daughters?”
She repeated the words and Delinda nodded, “Yes. They leave their own family and start taking care of this other woman. They all should be hanged till death,” Delinda spat.
Valerie was still looking at the woman’s face in confusion when Delinda frowned and then laughed. It was a wicked laughter.
“I saw Marissa and Mr. Sinclair shopping,” she brought her face closer, “Along with her two daughters. I must tell you, those baby girls are cute… they are innocent…”
Valerie couldn’t hear after that.
What? Marissa and Rafael had daughters?
She felt like someone had squeezed her heart in her chest.
“Ma’am. Your drinks!” the bartender placed the drinks on the counter. Valerie didn’t even look at them. The only thing in her mind was Marissa and Rafael had daughters together.
“Mrs. Sinclair. Are you alright? You are sweating,” Valerie looked at Delinda’s concerned face and then pushed her away.
Delinda was stunned when she saw Valerie making a beeline for the exit like a crazy mad woman.
