Chapter 227: 227- I’ll Carry This Taste With Me
Marissa saw the man of her dreams walking out of the kitchen and she, being an impatient fool, ran after him.
Tying her arms around his lean waist from behind, she pressed her cheek to his back, “This time was supposed to be ours, Mr. Sinclair,” he went still under her touch, “Don’t go. Please.”
He slowly turned and held her close to him. That gentle expression was back in his eyes. He pulled her closer and sighed, “Are you turning into me, Marissa?”
Marissa raised her head in confusion and giggled, “What does it mean?”
“It means that do you… also miss me? Every minute of the day? Like I miss you?” His questions caught her off guard. He also missed her? His green eyes were searching hers for some sign.
Any sign that he could hold on to.
She could feel her eyes glistening, but she had to hold it back.
“It will hardly take a while,” he bent his head to kiss her lips softly and started sucking them, “This strawberry taste won’t let me go anywhere. Don’t worry. I’ll carry this taste with me even after I die.”
He gave a quick peck to her nose tip and turned to get away from her. He didn’t even bother to look back at her pale face due to the careless statement he made about his death.
The woman was capable of keeping him glued to her ass and he wanted to get done with this meeting.
Once he was outside, he smiled to himself when his kids’ laughter reached his ears. What else could he want?
He had everything. A dream house, his kids, and most of all, Marissa. He didn’t give a damn as long as she was by his side.
As he stepped out of the house, the first rays of the sun bathed his face. His hand reached instinctively to the neckline of his t-shirt where his dark glasses were tucked.
Andrew was outside, strolling on the lawn when Rafael reached him and offered his hand for a handshake. Andrew couldn’t even smile when saw him wearing an apron.
To Rafael, he seemed uncomfortable.
“Mr. Sinclair,” he shook his hand with a strained look, “All good?”
Rafael made a face, and Andrew didn’t know how to carry on this conversation.
“What are you doing here?” Rafael asked him in a no-nonsense tone that took Andrew by surprise. Because in most of their meetings, Rafael had stayed cordial with him.
“I can see that you have brought your kids here,” Andrew said with a smile when he heard the kids’ noises, but the contours of Rafael’s face hardened in the blink of an eye.
Andrew was confused. Why would Rafael act this way unless he wanted to hide his kids from him? Or there might be only another reason for it. The kids might not be Rafael’s that’s why he didn’t like the remark.
“I’m sorry if I said something offensive, Mr. Sinclair,” he said and then swept the lawn with his eyes, “Can we go inside and talk? This is something important and that’s why I came here unannounced.”
He was in for a shock when Rafael shook his head without any remorse, “I’m sorry. I can’t allow that. My family is inside, and we need some privacy.”
Andrew didn’t understand this. Through their dealings regarding White Palace, Rafael had been quite a friendly guy then what got into him today? Especially when Andrew was going to discuss this issue.
Or did he miscalculate the guy who was the President of MSin?
“I haven’t got the whole day, Andrew,” Rafael reminded him, “Get done with it so that I can go back.” He couldn’t wait to join back Marissa in the kitchen.
The plan was to make and serve breakfast alongside her. And this Andrew spoiled the fun.
“This is something important, brother,” Andrew began, searching for the right words to continue.
Rafael’s brows furrowed when he eyed Andrew, “I don’t understand. What is this about?”
Andrew chuckled nervously before raising his arms, “I… I … it’s… just that … I’ve decided not to sell the house anymore.” Now he was questioning his decision to talk to Rafael about it.

Fu*ck you, Nina! I still don’t know if I want that double amount anymore or not.
Rafael stood across Andrew, frowning in confusion, “What do you mean you’re not selling the house anymore?” Andrew didn’t miss the edge in his voice.
He avoided eye contact, rubbing the back of his neck, “Look! There is a reason. Alright? I’m not interested in selling the house anymore. I … I just want it back,” There was calmness on Rafael’s face and that was quite unsettling for Andrew, so he thought of a little emotional blackmail.
“This house has memories of my son. Af-after selling it I… realized th-that…” He looked up trying to gauge Rafael’s reaction and found a cold smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“You want it back?” he repeated, his tone almost amused, “Tell me, Andrew,” Rafael started taking slow steps like a predator towards him, “Have you got another buyer?”
Andrew shifted nervously avoiding Rafael’s penetrating gaze, “W… what d-do you mean? Like I said… my son… n-no its not another buyer…”
Rafael had reached close to him, and Andrew found his presence overwhelming.
Why didn’t Nina tell me that Rafael has this evil side too? The man isn’t even raising his voice and still has this menacing presence.
Without warning, Rafael reached out and gripped Andrew’s collar. Andrew’s eyes went wide in shock and his breath hitched in his throat.
The smirk never left Rafael’s face, “I already paid you double of your demand, you fu*cker. The final papers are ready to be dispatched right after the twenty percent payment. It was meant to be released this morning as soon as the bank opens,” with one hand still grabbing his shirt, he used his other hand to dial the number on his phone.
“Hmm. Come to White Palace. Now! And bring those papers. The fu*cker is here to sign them.”
He said it with so much menace that Andrew thought he could wet his pants. This wasn’t the Rafael everyone sang praises of. This was someone else.
“The papers will be here soon, “Rafael snarled, “Sign them and get your ass out of here. The next time I see you in Kanderton, you are finished. The White Palace was a belated birthday gift for my wife. If she likes this house, then there is no way you are walking out of here without handing it over to me.”
Holding his shirt, he shoved him twice before letting go of the garment.
“Don’t you dare walk away,” Rafael said smoothly, his voice was ice cold sending chills down Andrew’s spine.
Poor Andrew swallowed hard, trying to stand his ground, “I’m also rich, I’ve money as well, Rafael. My guards are waiting outside, and if I want…” he stopped when saw the mocking grin on Rafael’s face widening.
“Your guards won’t be able to do anything if I kill you here and bury you in my garden. My wife would love to do some gardening on your grave. How tempting does it look!”
Andrew didn’t want to get scared. This was an insult to him, “You can’t do this… if your family…” the moment the word escaped his lips, Rafael’s hand raised and slapped across his face.
He stayed so casual about it as if it wasn’t a slap but a mosquito bite.
Andrew’s cheek stung, and now there was fear in his eyes that he was trying to hide. He always thought Rafael was a Richie Rich without any guts.
The man proved him wrong.
“Let me make this clear, Andrew White. Next time you speak of my family, I’ll make sure to pull out your tongue and wrap it around your own neck.”
He patted his cheek with a fake smile and got back. The gates opened and a car entered the gates.
A man came out of the car holding a file. He headed over to them and pushed a pen in Andrew’s hand.
Andrew didn’t protest nor he tried to argue with Rafael.
“Good, boy!” Rafael said sarcastically and gave a slight push to his shoulders, “Now leave.”
Andrew walked to the main gates with his shoulders drooped slightly. He wondered if Rafael would have treated him the same way if he had his guards with him.
His heart told him that yes. Rafael could have done anything to get the house.
Observing Andrew’s back, Rafael turned to the newly arrived man, “Thanks, Dean. Transfer the rest of the amount to his account and change the name of this palace.” He looked straight into his eyes, “From today onwards, it will be MSin palace.”
His face which had hardened just a few minutes back, softened in a blink of an eye, “Ask our lawyer to draw the documents, Dean. It’s MSin Palace from today onwards.”
