Chapter 230: 230- You Are The Owner.
They all were wet and dirty and had to stand under the shower of an attached bathroom of the guestroom to wash themselves.
The servants were so nice that they provided them with fresh towels and new attires, and Marissa had this unsettling feeling in her heart.
How come they had gotten the correct sizes for them? According to her knowledge, the prior owner had only one son and he was a grown-up.
Her eyes flickered with guilt as she looked at the mess in the bathroom. She was thinking of cleaning it when Rafael pulled her out.
“We all are waiting! Let’s start the round. Children are being impatient.”

Marissa and the kids were observing every room with wide-eyed amazement as Rafael kept showing them around the palace.
“There are so many bedrooms. How many more do we have to see?” Ariel finished with a yawn and then rubbed her eyes with her fists.
Children had started yawning and Marissa realized they must be tired. Ever since they were here, they had been busy in their playtime.
They needed rest.
“Sure, sweetheart. I just need to show you one more room and then you all can rest a little,” Rafael was carrying Abigail while showing around the house. The little girl wasn’t interested in staying in one place anymore.
There were a few servants who were accompanying them. Whenever Rafael wanted to stop at a door, they were the ones opening the doors for them.
Marissa was thoroughly impressed and almost convinced that the palace belonged to some royal family in the past.
However, when this one room was opened, they all froze in place.
“Holy crap!” Alex whispered, “What is this!”
Marisa was herself so stunned that she couldn’t even scold Alex for using cuss words. Ariel who was feeling sleepy a few minutes back was now in a state of shock.
The room that was the size of their office hallway had three beds with personalized cupboards and nightstands.
One set was in a navy color scheme with gold accents. It had mini characters of Avengers pasted on the cupboard. Alexander’s favorite.
The rest of the two were Terra cotta and burnt orange where Ariel and Abigail’s favorite characters were pasted.
Abigail wiggled in Rafael’s arms so that she could get down and have a closer look. They were looking closely at everything and there was awe in their eyes.
Marissa was silent, not understanding what was going on. Perhaps Ariel had picked up on her thoughts and expressed them, “Daddy. It seems like the new owner also had three kids and they also liked the same things as us.”
“Agree!” Alex spoke, “Even the color scheme isn’t traditional. Thankfully no baby blue for boys and no baby pink for girls.”
They were discussing it more among themselves and Marissa could feel her heart thumping in her chest.
“Do you like it?” Rafael asked her, and she shrugged nonchalantly.
Why should she say anything when this house wasn’t hers? Once it used to be her dream to look inside this palace but today, she was getting this absurd vibe.
Something wasn’t right.
“Wait a minute!” Alex’s voice raised slightly in disbelief, “If there is a kids’ room then there should be a master bedroom too.”
Rafael nodded happily, being proud of his son.
“Yes. There is. But as you all are too tired, we can pause the tour for a few…” he wanted to say ‘for a few hours’ but all the kids started shaking their heads.

“No, Daddy. Show us now!” Abi raised her arms so that he could scoop her up. She liked to get spoiled by her father the most.
“Fine!” Rafael said with a sigh and this time circled his arm around Marissa to escort her out of the room.
The double doors to the master bedroom were opened and he ushered her and the kids inside.
Before today, Marissa didn’t know what elegance meant. Rich velvet drapes were cascading to the floor, an oversized bed was there that also had drapes of silk white linens around it.
There was a large portrait that was covered behind a white georgette fabric. Marissa could see the colors behind that cloth.
Rafael was observing her face, holding his breath. He didn’t know how she would react after what he was going to do in the next few minutes.
“Do you like it?” he asked her, but the response came from Abi.
“This is huge, Daddy,” the kids were standing at the entrance not moving ahead. Rafael gave a little nudge to Ariel, but she just turned back and hugged his legs.
“Thank you, Daddy, for bringing us here. This place is so cool.”
Rafael crouched down and kissed her forehead, “You’re welcome, chipmunk!”
He had to look behind only to find Marissa trying to leave the room.
“Marissa!” he placed Abi down and quickly got up, “Where are you going?”
“I … I … need to clean that bathroom… I don’t want the owners to … object about our stay and for the mess…” she spread her arms to let him look around.
“Servants are here for a reason, Marissa,” He gave a slight pull to her hair strand. He wanted to say something when Alex spoke loudly,
“Oh, shit! Look at this!”
“Alex!” Marissa issued him a warning and Alex quickly muttered a sorry under his breath. His sisters went over to look at what he was showing them.
The doors to the master bedroom were opening in a private garden. This one had a wooden swing and some benches too.
“The flowers planted here are a rare breed and are imported,” he told them.
Everyone was being chatty except Marissa. The kids had long forgotten that they were feeling sleepy just a few minutes back.
“Sir,” Rafael turned when a servant entered through the open door of the private garden, “Mr. Dean is here.”
“Call him in!” Rafael told him curtly.
What was Dean doing here?
She couldn’t even smile when found Dean walking towards them.
“Hello!” he waved at Marissa and saw how kids were moving around touching the flowers with their little fingers.
“Your file, Mr. Sinclair,” he handed over the file and nodded at Marissa.
“Thank you, Dean,” Rafael gave him a tightlipped smile and then turned to Marissa to bend his knee.
This unexpected action caught her attention. Even the kids grew quiet while their eyes were fixed on their parents.
Rafael held her hand and pushed the edge of the file into it. Marissa had played this scene in her mind, over and over again in the past when she used to dream that one day Rafael would not only fall for her but propose her like this.
Today he was doing it but there was no ring to offer but a random file.
“W-What is this? Wh-why are you sitting like this?” she gave a shaky smile to her kids, not sure what to say.
“This house. It’s not a White House anymore, Strawberry,” his next words made, her eyes widen and her heart raced in shock, “From now onwards, it’s MSin Palace. And Marissa… You’re the owner of this palace.”
