Chapter 255: 255- Miss You Too, My Heart!
“Very little time is remaining to the event and now I expect you all to speed up your planning. Our guests will be flowing into the city and soon most of the hotels of Kanderton City will be occupied.”
Marissa announced to her team and then looked at the projector screen where the event date was mentioned.
Wasn’t the event supposed to be on the twenty-sixth of this month?
She thought and opened her tab where it was mentioned. Yes, she was right.
“Dean. The date is postponed to the twenty-ninth of the month?”
When Dean nodded, she made a face. Of course, the order must be from the president who couldn’t stop himself from poking his nose in her business. Just like his mom.
Twenty-nine of this month was supposed to be her kids’ birthday and this time she had thought to celebrate it with Rafael. This would be their first birthday when their father would be with them.
And now Rafael had pushed the event to that date.
It seemed like she needed to have another argument with her husband. Lately, she had been fighting with him a lot and he always used to accept her demands even if they didn’t make sense.
Rolling her lips between her teeth, she thought of him and held back her smile.
Mr. Husband. How to convince you that I can make such decisions without your interference?
Just then the door opened after a short knock and Kate glided inside, holding a pamphlet.
“Marissa. If you’ll finalize it, then I can give them the go-ahead,” In recent days, Kate had been too cooperative with almost zero bitterness.
Her office café was supposed to be functional the very next day of the event. When everyone from her team will be saying their goodbyes to the MSin building, Kate’s new career will start soon. She had already started hiring one or two people for her café staff.
“Umm. How about this one?” Marissa asked her and Kate showed her a thumbs-up sign. “This is what I liked too.”
Delinda was also there in the room and was sketching something quietly instead of listening to Marissa.
“How about we grab a quick coffee at the café?” She suggested to Dean who also wanted a little getaway after the meeting.
“Yes, please. This throbbing pain in my head might kill me. My soul needs coffee,” Marissa chuckled and smacked his back when she found someone else sitting near Dean’s desk.
“Isn’t she Nina’s secretary?” Marissa asked him in a whisper when they were leaving for the coffee. Dean didn’t speak until the doors of the elevator got closed.
“Yeah. She was hiding in his office when you two reached there.”
“What?” Marissa felt her face burning in embarrassment, thinking what the girl must have witnessed there.
“Yeah. Mr. Sinclair called her out and threatened her to get her arrested. Guess what she told him…” he trailed off when saw Marissa furrowed her brows.
“Keep speaking, Dean. I’m all ears!”
He held her hand before entering the café, “Let’s order coffee first.”
The café owner who was standing behind the counter, flashed a smile when he found Marissa taking a table along with Dean.
He motioned the waiter to let him take the order and went to their table, “Good to see you, ma’am. How are you?”
Marissa nodded in confusion and told him she would have cappuccino along with bagels while Dean opted for black coffee.”
“Wipe that look off your face,” he teased her when saw her observing the owner, “Mr. President gave clear instructions to every member of the staff to treat you like a VIP.”
He was now enjoying the horrified look on her face.

“Rafael did what… no! You can’t be serious!”
“Let’s accept it, Mrs. Marissa Sinclair. He loves you,” Marissa’s heart thudded in the cradle of her chest.
Rafael might have called her precious and strawberry. But he never told her, he loved her. Maybe he was stalling for more time. As a gentleman, he was taking the responsibility of his family. But she couldn’t force him into such things.
These were matters of the heart.
When Nina and Valerie entered the café, Marissa thanked God that Dean had opted for the corner table. Dean followed her gaze and started shaking his head.
“They are creeps!” he then leaned back in his seat, “Did you notice? The café owner didn’t even leave his seat when they came inside.”
Marissa exhaled a long breath. Dean was right. Once their order was done, the café owner brought the tray to their table.
Nina had seen her sitting there and passed a mean look. She even bent ahead to talk to Valerie about her.
Valerie also looked in their direction.
“Mister!” Nina waved her hand to get the owner’s attention, “Our order!” she said, raising a brow as if she owned the café.
A waiter went to them and said something, but Nina was loud enough to whine.
“Why can’t he take our orders?”
Here we go again! Marissa thought to herself. It was rare that Nina could see anyone happy.
She was still complaining but Marissa stopped giving her any attention and kept talking to Dean.
He was equally excited for the upcoming event that was taking place in MSin Palace.
Marissa started taking small sips of her coffee and took out her phone. Her heart was craving for her husband.
She was about to type a text to him, when Dean spoke to her, “The girl who usually accompanied Nina.”
“Yeah. That cute blonde at your table? You were going to tell me something about her…”
“Hmm. I don’t know why, but I think Nina asked her to do that weird stunt,” Marissa’s eyes were still on the screen as she typed the message…
Miss you, hubby! Followed by a heart emoji.
But then she deleted the heart. What if she scared him away by being too clingy?
She looked up at Dean after hitting the ‘send’ button, “Why do you think that?”
“She confessed it to Mr. Sinclair,” he shrugged, “I had already guessed that she isn’t that clever to use her brain. And see! She just accepted that she was there to attract Rafael, on Nina’s instructions.”
Uh oh. What?
Marissa always thought Nina loved Valerie. What kind of game was Nina trying to play? The woman was sincere to no one. Not even to her son.
Marissa tilted her head and found Valerie and Nina already looking in her direction. She diverted her gaze and looked at the table where her phone vibrated.
The message was from Rafael.
“Miss you too, my heart. Come over!” and then there was a kiss emoji.
Marissa wanted to cry; she was again falling for this man. And this time it was a hard fall.
He called me, his heart!
