Chapter 291: 291- Valerie (I)
“Rightfully?” Marissa cocked up a brow and laughed loudly, “Oh, God. What has gotten into you, Val? Remember you always had the poorest sense of humor? Ha-ha!”
“I wish our parents were here,” Valerie said with a look of fake disappointment in her eyes, “they should know what their younger daughter is up to.”
“And care to explain what she is up to?” Marissa was all ears as she leaned a little to take her ear closer to her.
“You’re nothing but a who*re, Marissa!” Valerie spat in anger. In the past, Marissa always started crying whenever she used to hear such slang words from her elder sister.
Val was expecting the same reaction from her, forgetting that she wasn’t the same little sister anymore who she could bully easily.
“Wives are never wh*ores, Valerie!” Marissa said with a sad smile, “It’s you who spent your valuable time in my bed with my husband. Say your price, sweetheart!”
Valerie thought she heard her wrong, “What?”
“You are here to take the payment of your bed services. Right? Say your price and I promise, I’ll pay you.”
Before she could say more, a slap landed on her cheek, making her face turn sideways.
“Marissa! Shame on you,” Valerie’s crocodile tears were back into her eyes, “You should be ashamed to call me names. Rafael and I were in love with each other and there were no bed services…”
Marissa slowly raised her head, “Not anymore,” she whispered, “he wasn’t in love with you anymore, Val. And yes… this slap…” she held Valerie’s hand that she had thrown on Marissa’s cheek, “I won’t forget this slap, Val. And I won’t let you forget it either.”
Before Valerie could say anything, Marissa dropped her hand and headed to the entrance of her house.
“You be prepared, Marissa. I’ll come back and will take back what is rightfully mine!” she said in a challenging tone.
Marissa stayed at the door for a moment, her hand resting on the doorknob, and then went inside without a backward glance.
Again, it was an insult for Valerie as she was habitual of VIP treatment. She had always been the apple of everyone’s eye.
And here Marissa decided to walk away without any acknowledgment. Before Nina, she needed to fix Marissa’s attitude first.

“Thank you, Ethan,” Valerie’s voice was full of gratitude, as Ethan settled her bill at the hotel reception.
“My pleasure,” he said, putting his credit card in the wallet. Right now, he was her knight in shining armor
Valerie looked at his handsome face and regretted that she had to go back home, “When I return, I’ll contact you.”
Ethan who was placing the wallet in his hip pocket, filled the form provided by the hotel staff. He was also planning to check out the hotel the next morning, but he didn’t deem it necessary to tell her.
“Do you have a car to drop you off at the airport?” he asked her, and she shook her head in embarrassment, “No. The car I booked on rent, I need to pay their dues too.”
“Don’t worry about that. I’ll pay them,” he took out his phone and punched some numbers, “I have a meeting in a Chinese restaurant near the airport. If you want, I can drop you there.”
She accepted his offer with a nod. He was kind enough to not only drop her but also book her a flight to Sangua.
“I promise, I will pay back whatever you are spending on me.”
He didn’t remark on that. Even Valerie wasn’t sure if she would have enough to go back home or not. After saying goodbye to Ethan, she went to the waiting lounge.
She had always taken expensive trips to places that included seven-star hotel stays and business-class flights.
Today it was economy class just because of that bitch.
“Once I’ll go home, I’ll bring back my marriage certificate and put a case against you, Marissa. You’re mistaken if you think I’ll let you off the hook so easily.”

She needed her marriage certificate badly. Her parents and her servants were perfect witnesses to her marriage. They all had seen her living with Rafael as his spouse.
Once she went home, she would return with all the proofs and teach Marissa a lesson

The first thing she did after landing in Sangua was to go to the bank.
“I need to see the manager!” she demanded an official, sitting at the front desk.
“Manager can meet you after one hour, he is already in a meeting…” Valerie didn’t let him finish. She leaned in closer, her face inches from his.
“I don’t give a flying fu*ck even if he’s in the bathroom. Get him now!”
The man had never met a customer like her. Their customers were usually decent and belonged to respectable backgrounds.
He blinked nervously trying to maintain his composure, “Ma’am. Please understand…”
“Understand?” She cut him off, “I don’t need understanding! I need action!” She didn’t even bother to notice people around her, ignoring their stares completely.
The man gulped hard and then nodded his head, “Ok, ma’am. Got it…”

“But this is my account… how can you cancel my credit card without informing me?” Valerie was fighting the bank manager like a wild cat.
She never had to handle crappy bank matters before today.
Look, Rafael! What you’re making me do?
“Ma’am. There is nothing in your account,” the frustrated guy turned his computer screen towards her, “See! You haven’t paid your credit card bills for the last three months. We’re sorry. We can’t do much unless you make your due payments.”
Valerie wanted to pull her hair off her scalp. What was going on?
What would she do without her credit cards?
Oh, good God! How can I forget about my jewelry? She facepalmed with a chuckle.
Rafael had given her enough jewelry with diamonds, gems, and white gold. Her bedroom safe was full of it.
She could easily sell it.
Seeing her laughing like that, the bank manager couldn’t help but think she was nuts.
