Chapter 325: 325- Soon-To-Be Brother-In-Law
Rafael thought maybe he was imagining it. But no. She was there.
It was her.
With a frown, he walked to the aisle where she was standing with that guy. Seeing him heading towards her, she pressed closer to the boy, making Rafael’s blood boil.
Rafael’s gaze dipped down to where they were holding each other’s hand tightly, their ears had turned pink as if they were caught doing some naughty stuff.
“What are you doing here?” The girl seemed taken aback by the odd query but kept her gaze low.
“We’re here to play football,” the guy who was now holding her as if his life depended on it responded boldly to his silly query.
Rafael felt like to slap his face. He wanted the guy to keep his hands off her.
If it was just a random couple, he might have smiled thinking they were up to something. But, it was NOT a random couple.
Neither of them made a move to let go of each other.
Before Rafael could give the boy a shut-up call and tell him to keep his smart mouth shut, Jason came behind him.
“Hey, man. We were looking for you. What are you doing here?” he gave an odd look to the young couple and slapped Rafael’s back, “Come on. Joseph is waiting.”
Rafael snapped back into reality, giving a confused look to the duo, and then turned on his heels to go away.

The moment Rafael left, Finn took a sigh of relief and turned to Marissa, “Is he the one? He is more like a descendant of Changez Khan!”
“Hehe…” Marissa started giggling, “Look at your face. Imagine, what will you do if I marry him?”
With wide eyes, Finn regarded her, “Marry? Better marry Hitler!” he shoved her and walked past her.
She started following him, “But Hitler is dead,”
“And you will too if you’ll marry him,” he retorted.
“No, I won’t!”
Finn scrunched his nose and walked ahead while Marissa was still laughing at the way he kept squeezing her hand when the handsome guy of her dreams was there.
She couldn’t understand why Val’s boy approached her except for one reason. Maybe… just maybe… there was a very thin possibility that he was also interested in her.
Her heart thudded in her chest and her face heated up by the mere thought. Though it was next to impossible.
But then her face turned pale by the next thought.
What if he approached her because she was Valerie’s sister? What if he wanted to know something about Valerie but stopped himself because of his friend?
Internally, she crossed her fingers and closed her eyes. She needed to stay positive.

She was placing dishes in the dishwasher after dinner when Valerie came to fetch a water bottle from the fridge.
Marissa tilted her head a little and eyed her sister who was smiling while scrolling her phone. However, she looked up when Marissa cleared her throat.
“That guy…” Marissa tried to speak but again had to clear her throat.

Valerie pouted with a frown at the incomplete sentence, “Which guy?”
“The one you met outside the ice cream parlor,” Marissa said after closing the dishwasher.
Valerie had forgotten that she needed to sip the water, “What about him?” she watched Marissa carefully who seemed to be blushing.
“I met him!” Before Marissa could tell her more, Valerie had dropped the plastic water bottle on the floor letting the water spill and quickly closed the distance between them.
Holding Marissa by her collar, she shoved her twice, “You met my man?” She snarled in a low tone, “How dare you?”
Marissa who wasn’t ready for this attack, her eyes went wide in surprise. Holding Valarie’s shoulders, she tried to push her away but Valerie had an odd crazy look on her face.
“Valerie! Leave me!” she didn’t want to wake up her parents who were in their bedroom.
“Listen to me, Marissa Aaron!” she hissed between clenched teeth, “You try to take away my stuff and I’ll make sure never to let you win or to let you live in peace. Got that?”
Marissa at last gave a final nod to her face while panting, “Are you out of your mind, Val? I saw him in the bookstore. You didn’t even hear what I was saying, and you started…”
“I don’t want to hear you,” Val cut in, “He is mine and I repeat Marissa. Stay away from him.”
With the threat, Val left the kitchen, leaving behind the small mess on the floor from the plastic bottle.
Marissa sighed and shook her head. Now she had to clean this too.
Rolling her eyes, she brought the mop and started wiping the floor. She couldn’t believe it. Last time, Valerie told her that he was just a random guy who wanted her contact number and tonight she behaved as if she was in a relationship with him.
If that was the case, then their parents would be proud of her. Their beautiful daughter had found a rich guy for herself.
But then Marissa felt her heart being clutched by an iron fist. That guy was out of her league but seeing him with her sister as her future husband meant that Marissa would be seeing him more.
Placing her palm on her chest, she took slow and steady breaths, trying to calm the storm inside her.
She never felt anything for the opposite sex and Finn often used to make fun of her that she might be interested in girls.
But after seeing the heartthrob, Marissa knew that she wasn’t into girls. She was straight and wanted him in her life.
But now that wasn’t possible. Like other things and people, Valerie would take him away too.
She forced a smile, maybe to assure herself that she was all good but no. She wasn’t. Her heart felt like it was cracking under an immense weight.
There was only one solution. To cry as much as she wanted. Tonight, she would do that.
After crying through the night, she might feel better and welcome this new, unexpected, and painful relationship in her life…
Maybe her soon-to-be brother-in-law!
