Chapter 326: 326- My Sister And Her Boyfriend
Valerie was pacing around in her room. She was fuming as Marissa’s face kept popping up in her mind.
How dare she!
She had Rafael’s contact number but wasn’t giving him the call intentionally. Why?
She wanted to test his patience. She had somehow guessed that he was more interested in Marissa and Valerie didn’t want to let that happen.
She knew how to play her cards. But the fate? Damn that fate!
It chose to make them meet in the bookstore.
No. Valerie needed to do something about it, really fast. They might run into each other again. Instead of playing this cat-and-mouse game with Rafael, she should contact him.
She rushed to her bed and raised the pillow to take out the chit. Picking up her phone, she dialed the number and waited for it to be answered.
It got through after the second ring. He seemed to be outside, “Hello?” his voice appeared so deep and so sexy on the phone.
She could almost imagine him groaning in ecstasy lying above her. A cold sweat broke near her forehead.
“Hello?” He repeated and this time frustration was evident in his voice.
“Hi. I’m… Valerie speaking…” she was looking for coherent words.
“Sorry? Who?” Valerie didn’t like it. Shouldn’t he remember her name?
“It’s me. Valerie! I told you to find me a job… if you remember?” She tried to sound innocent, and embarrassed.
“Oh. Yeah. Where are you now?” his direct question made her a little shocked. It was a little before midnight. Surely the job interviews couldn’t be taken at this hour.
“Umm. I’m home, Mr. Sinclair,” she tried to laugh it off, “where else?”
“Fine. Send me your location. I’m coming to pick you up.”
Wait! What?
Before she could utter another word, the call was disconnected.

Valerie was having this weird feeling. Instead of taking her to a high-end place, they were wandering on the streets of Sangua city.
Wasn’t he an elite?
Rich boys liked showing off rather than roaming the streets with their girls, observing the carts selling street food.
Was he even the real Rafael Sinclair or he was just a fake who shared the same name?
“Mr. Sinclair!” she called him but then saw him absently leaving her behind. She stopped in frustration, “Mr. Sinclair!”
He did turn this time as she was too loud. Even a few people nearby stopped to look at them.
“Weren’t we here for the interview?” She asked him but he seemed blank,
“Hmm?”
“I said, weren’t we here for the interview? I thought you had set up some meeting with someone for my job,” She sounded annoyed.

She knew damn well that she wasn’t here for any interview. He brought her here because he wanted something from her.
He wanted to talk about Marissa and Valerie was ready for it.
She wanted to get done with it, once and for all.
“You can come to my house tomorrow if you want,” she offered him with a smirk and saw the shock on his face. However, he was quick to mask it.
“Your house?”
“Yeah. Due to some reasons, I’m still living with my parents. Don’t worry. I’m not calling you there for a hook-up. We are decent people. You can even meet my family. My parents and my little sister.”
The word ‘sister’ made him snap his head up, “Huh?”
Valerie kept her sinister grin to herself, “I said we are decent people. Come over. Enjoy dinner with my family. If you have a job for me that’s good but even if you don’t have it, then it’s OK. We can still feed you a good meal,” she said with a chuckle and for the first time she felt her heart dropping in her stomach.
He had a small smile playing on his lips, “I’ll be there tomorrow,” He agreed, and she wanted to squeal in delight.
He said yes.

“So, what have you made?” Finn asked her and removed the cover of a pot that was still on the stove, “Ouch. What’s this?”
Marissa who was chopping the carrots, wiped the sweat off her temple with the back of her hand, “Chicken Fajita.”
“Hmm,” he closed his eyes and sniffed it, “Smells delish!” he closed the lid and inspected the salad platter she was decorating.
“It’s Val’s guest and she is expecting you to put an effort into the food. She is too selfish!” Marissa smiled and looked at Finn who seemed upset for her, “And I don’t know why she invited me when she was bringing a guy to meet your family.”
Marissa also had the same question in her mind. She was also surprised when Valerie asked her to invite Finn over for dinner. Finn wasn’t new to her family.
“Yeah. She said that she was bringing this special guest, and we were supposed to give him VIP treatment. Guess what?” she opened the lid of another pot and put some chopped green onions, “She announced this morning that soon she is moving away. Can you imagine? Valerie Aaron… leaving the house?”
Finn rolled his eyes and got closer to her, “Any idea who is this special person? A sugar daddy?”
“Shut up!” Marissa laughed and showed him the sharp knife, “I know nothing except that his name is Rafael.”
She started arranging dishes on the counter, “Rafael?” he picked up a carrot piece and started nibbling it, “I hope it’s not Rafael Sinclair.”
“Who is Rafael Sinclair?” she took off her apron and tossed it on his face.
“Yikes, Marissa,” he caught it with his two fingers and flung it near the oven, “And you must be a fool if you don’t know about the city’s heartthrob.”
He then scrunched his nose, “And you smell horrible, Mar. Go and take a shower otherwise, your guest might die of this smell. They can have a breakup because Val’s sister stinks. Ha-ha”
Marissa giggled and smudged some ketchup on his nose tip, making him squint as his eyeballs moved to focus there.
“You’re funny. This guy is supposed to come at around eight. So, chill!” she waved her hand in a careless gesture, “I have enough time to take a shower,” She watched her friend who looked handsome in a solid navy polo shirt paired with slim-fit black pants.
“Urgh,” Finn groaned, “What about me? I’m about to faint, girl. Now go and shower!” he glared at her and just to tease him, she went to him with a mischievous grin and hugged him tight.
“How do you feel now, sweetheart!” she asked mischievously.
“Marissa,” he stated wiggling in her arms, and she kept laughing, not letting him go easily. He was trying his best not to laugh when suddenly he also decided to hug her back.
“Now you try to free yourself, darling. I’ll make sure to not let you shower until Val’s boyfriend shows up and gets fainted by this horrible onion smell.”
Marissa’s eyes were wide like saucers, “Don’t be a jerk and leave me!” she tried, pounding her fists on his shoulders.
But he didn’t let her go, “And imagine if this Rafael is the business tycoon, Rafael Sinclair. He might think her beautiful girlfriend’s sister is so stinky. Yuck!”
Marissa stopped the struggle and placed her arms around his neck. She was shaking in his arms with laughter.
Just then the door opened, and someone came in and then halted in their steps.
“Oh, sorry, Rafael. Meet my sister and her boyfriend, Finn,” they both froze in each other’s arms when heard Valerie.
