Chapter 338: 338- Murderer
“So, you will leave this place?” Bajj asked Nina who was packing her small bag. She had taken an apartment on rent and was now moving there.
“Of course,” she said shutting the closet door, “This was the temporary arrangement. I need to go back and collect my stuff.”
Bajj saw her zipping her bag and then looking for her phone, “And what about your grandkids? Will you be able to live without them?”
Nina shook her head with a sad smile, “I’ll meet them before leaving and I’m sure they’ll miss me too,” with a sigh she sat on the edge of the bed, “It’s just their mom who is now getting on my nerves. I wish…” she tilted her head a little to eye him with a smirk, “I wish I could kill her and live with my lovely kids.”
Bajj chuckled at her fantasy and got up from the chair, “Seriously. Planning to kill their mom?”
Blood seemed to drain from Nina’s face in a blink, “Oh, please. Don’t put words in my mouth. I just said it metaphorically.”
She checked the zipper of her bag and got up. The man who wanted her out of his apartment stayed with her and enjoyed the time.
Nina couldn’t say no because he was the one who helped her with her overnight stay but now, she didn’t wait any longer and rented an apartment through a good agency.
Staying with Marissa was a big no, where Valerie and Geena were welcome, but she wasn’t.
“Let’s go!” he tried to pick up her bag, but she stopped him.
“Don’t!”
She could easily take a cab and didn’t need his help.
“I’ll just drop you at Marissa Palace and then you are on your own, honey.”

“Mom, can you tell me who attacked you?” Marissa asked her mom who only knew how to smile or cry. But she had almost forgotten how to speak.
At Marissa’s questioning, she was just making strange sounds but wasn’t able to communicate with her.
Having doubts about her own sister was something else but being sure about it was extremely hurtful.
No matter how much rivalry they both shared, Valerie was her sister. Her flash and blood. She could never have expected her sister to make murder attempts.
She didn’t turn back when she heard the door click behind her, “I know you didn’t want me here, Marissa,” Geena said with a hint of reluctance, “But Rafael wanted me here. Once I convince him that I’m busy at my new job, I’ll leave. I promise.”
Marissa didn’t react.
If Geena was here for a little while, then they all could have coffee in the front lawn and she could convince Rafael not to call Geena again and again due to her busy job schedule.
Pressing a kiss on her mom’s forehead, she left the room.

Sitting in the garden she noticed Rafael was more involved in Geena as compared to her. He was asking her about her interests, her hobbies, and her future goals.
Like…
As if… she was his younger sibling.
She did trust Rafael but at the back of her mind, there was an uneasy feeling.
Valerie was inside, meeting their mom. Sophia had promised to arrange a bed for her mom in the hospital where the doctors could keep an eye on her.
This could stop Valerie from visiting the palace.

“What are you thinking?” she took a sharp breath when without warning, Rafael grabbed her hand, “You look sad, wifey.”
Marissa shook her head and looked at his hand holding hers. He followed her gaze and then squeezed it lightly.
“I’m never leaving it,” he remarked solemnly.
With a tightlipped smile, she nodded her head. Her eyes moved to Geena where there was genuine happiness seeing them together.
Marissa needed to find the end of the robe.
Nina, Val, and Geena.
The three women showed they were genuinely happy for her yet one of them was a big drama.
There was no better actor than Valerie Aaron.
She was so engrossed in thinking that she didn’t hear the gates open, nor did she notice the car pulling in.
“Who is this?” Geena asked her, putting her plate down on the table.
“Don’t worry,” Marissa offered an almond-filled date to her husband and placed it in his mouth, “the security will never open the gates without identification. However, I don’t know who this car belongs to.”
The car glided along the curved path leading to the main house, finally coming to a stop, a short distance from where they were enjoying the snacks.
“Seems like Nina!” Marissa heard Geena’s whisper and tried to suppress her smile. Nina still didn’t know that her son was alive.
She got down and walked to Marissa, “I’m here to get my clothes. I’m leaving after packing my stuff.”
She said with a straight face not even looking at Geena or Rafael.
“Nina! What a pleasant surprise!” Nina made a face when found Valerie coming out of the house.
“Marissa, where are the kids? I want to meet them,” she requested Marissa ignoring everyone else.
Marissa got up and gestured towards Rafael, “Won’t you meet him?”
Nina shook her head, “I’m not interested in meeting my ex-assistant’s boyfriend.”
Marissa wanted to laugh. Nina thought that Geena was visiting her with her boyfriend.
“Well!” Marissa raised her one shoulder in style, “Still you should meet him. He might look familiar to you.”
Nina at last looked at the tall man, frowning. The face looked familiar and then she gasped.
“N…no… th-this man…” she pointed towards Rafael stuttering badly, “he resembles… He resembles… R-Rafaelll…”
Her palms were placed on her red cheeks, and she was looking at Rafael…
Biting her lip, Marissa looked down at Rafael who was the only one sitting there. There was no emotion on his face, and he was looking at Nina with knitted brows.
“Rafael! My son!” Nina said gulping her saliva and Marissa felt like her face was quickly being drained of color.
“Are you alright, Nina?” Val asked her and Marissa could see the smirk on her sister’s face.
What was going on?
Marissa wanted to ask Rafael to get up and hug his mom. Before she could speak, Rafael dragged the chair back with a jolt and got up.
“Who are you?” he asked Nina and Nina gave a confused look to Marissa.
“He lost his memory, Nina,” Valerie explained Nina as if she was cracking a joke, “You’re safe again! Ha-ha.”
“What?” Nina had disbelief on her face. She was standing there like a statue who wasn’t ready to move a muscle.
Marissa found it strange. As a mom shouldn’t she have hugged her son on his safe return?
“Who are you?” Rafael again asked Nina.
Before his mom could utter a word, Rafael closed the distance between them and before anyone could understand, his fingers curled around her throat pushing her back against the wall.
“You bloody murderer!” he roared in rage.
