Chapter 340: 340- She Killed Her!
Murderer? Police?
Marissa was confused.
Geena and Valerie were witnessing the drama, unfolding before their eyes. Like Marissa, they were also clueless about what was going on.
Valerie swiped her tongue over her dry lips and whispered to Marissa, “Mar. Do you think Rafael is mentally fit to even live here?”
Marissa shot a warning glare at her sister and went to Rafael who was getting out of the hands of those security guards.
“Rafael! Honey!” the moment she touched his skin, he went still. The wild look on his face slowly disappeared and in its place was gentleness that was only reserved for her.
“Y-you need to call the police, sweetheart,” He repeated. Marissa nodded and decided to take a leap of faith.
She wanted to trust her husband.
“OK. I will. But don’t attack her again, honey,” She lifted herself on her toes and kissed his cheek. Once under control, there was pain evident in his green eyes.
Nina was still glued to the wall in shock. She was no longer crying rather she was just standing there like a dummy.
“You ok, Nina?” Bajj started towards her, but Rafael’s hiss froze him in his tracks.
“Go to her and I’ll make sure that I chop off your head,” The warning worked well on Bajj. He threw his hands up in the air with a smirk.
“This is your family matter, dude,” he saluted Nina and turned to leave, “I better give you all some privacy.”
Ignoring him, Marissa asked a security guard to call the police.
“Are you crazy?” Val shook Marissa a little, maybe to put some sense into her, “he doesn’t look alright to me. Why are you calling the police just because he asked you to?”
The security guard had already left, and Marissa didn’t make any attempt to stop him. Nor did she show any sign of discomfort.
She only knew one thing and that was, Rafael asked her to call the police, and she needed to do it for him. No matter how crazy he sounded.

Standing behind them, Geena’s smile was soft, and her eyes were brimming with tears as she took it all in.
Her job was done.
This was the day she had been waiting for.
After leaving the orphanage, she didn’t approach Nina because she wanted a job. She approached her because she needed to send Nina to jail.
Seeing Nina, standing there helplessly against the wall, brought so many bitter memories back to her. It took some time. Actually, more than she expected.
Being inexperienced, she had thought that she could easily get Nina arrested. But she was wrong.
Working for her as an assistant, she tried looking for some proof against her but couldn’t succeed. She even got chances to spend a few nights at her house when they were overburdened due to her fashion-related commitments.
She tried to look for the proofs at her house too. Once she slipped a sleeping pill in her drink and then searched her bedroom but alas.
Still no proof.
After all the years of emptiness and nothing in her hands, she had at last decided to resign from her job and continue her education.

But now Rafael did the desk within a day what she wanted to do for the last four years. Soon Nina would be behind the bars.
Holding back her tears, she turned on her heels and left the room quietly. Soon police would be here, and she wanted to leave the house before that.
After all, no one will ever miss her.
With a sad smile, she looked back at the huge mansion where it displayed in bold letters Marissa Sinclair palace.
As expected, Ethan was at the gate to give her a ride.
“The moment I got your text, I immediately left home to pick you up,” he said opening the passenger door of the car, “Congratulations!”
Nina gave him a tightlipped smile. He was the only one with whom she had shared what she was planning to do.
“Thanks,” she said, and then she didn’t know what got into her. He hadn’t even started the car when she reached over and pulled him to her into a tight hug.
Ethan was surprised and placed his hand on her back. After a few minutes, he realized, she was crying silently, “Hey!” he pushed her gently and offered her a stack of napkins, “Being emotional isn’t allowed. Not at least in my car!”
Geena chuckled at his jibe and started wiping her cheeks.
“You lived a difficult life because of Nina and today see what happened. Fate did its job. Now enjoy your life, girl!”
He was right. She had been waiting for it since childhood and now when it was finally done, she was having a hard time accepting it.
“What if she comes out and …” she trailed off when saw him laughing.
“This time Rafael Sinclair is involved. So, I don’t think he will let it happen.”
Geena nodded and was pulled into a quick hug by Ethan, “Now come on! Cheer up! So, where are we going for lunch? Your treat today.”
He gave her a playful slap on the back, and she squeezed her eyes shut in mock protest.
“Let’s go. Take me somewhere fancy. Her Highness is treating you to a royal lunch!”
Ethan revved the engine with a grin and Geena couldn’t help but feel proud to have him in her life.

They were sitting in the police station and the police officer was skeptical about writing the report.
“Write, what he is telling you!” Marissa asked the lieutenant in a no-nonsense tone.
“We can’t!”
“Why?” Marissa slapped her hand on the solid wooden desk, looking into the eyes of the uniformed man.
“His memory isn’t working, and we can’t take risks…” Before Marissa could open her mouth to snub him, Rafael placed his intertwined hands on the desk and leaned a little forward.
“There was a case on Sheila Sinclair in the past… many years ago. Contact Sangua police and ask them. Once they confirm, I want a case against this woman,” he gestured towards Nina whose face had turned white at the mention of Sheila Sinclair.
Before the officer could say anything, Rafael dragged back his chair with a sound and got to his feet. Marissa also got up and followed him outside the office.
They could hear Nina’s screams echoing behind them, but Rafael appeared to be deaf to them.
“Who is Sheila Sinclair!” Marissa asked him while walking behind him. Due to his long strides, she was having difficulty in keeping up with his speed.
He halted and turned slowly to look at her. Marissa wasn’t ready to see the pain in those green eyes.
“Who is Sheila Sinclair?” she repeated the question while panting. Rafael looked at her and then sighed before answering her.
“My mother. Nina killed her!”
