Chapter 346: 346- I Love My Kids
The most embarrassing thing for Nina was the way Gabriel had to lift her in haste to take his limp member out of her folds.
The instant, he saw Naila standing in the bathroom with a carefree smile playing on her lips, he forgot that he was naked and got up from the tub. “Darling!” He stepped outside the tub and spread his arms to hug her, but she raised her finger to stop him.
“Umm hmm, Mister husband!” She batted her lashes, “Clean yourself first and come down to the lobby. We need to take the flight immediately. Our baby needs us.”
With that she looked down at Nina who was still in the tub and wished to immerse herself in the lather, “Hi, Nina. Sorry for being a bummer. But our child comes first,” she then turned to Gabriel, “Right, honey?”
Gabriel nodded and bent a little to kiss his wife’s lips, “I’ll be there in a minute.”
He then took a quick shower and left the bathroom without uttering a single word in his defense.
Nina thought she was dreaming.
No. This can’t be happening to me. Gabriel just said that he loved me and wanted to divorce her.
The only thing Gabriel said before leaving the room was, “Nina. Sweetie. I have cleared all the hotel dues. Take care of yourself. Bye.”
Nina heard the door clicking when he closed the room door.

Nina came back to Sangua and didn’t try to contact Gabriel after that. There were rumors that his youngest baby was hospitalized, and he was busy.
She started visiting the club again and the good thing was, no one gave her a judgmental look.
Thankfully Naila didn’t try to tarnish her name. Or maybe she was too busy with her kids and didn’t have time to play any dirty games.
Or maybe being a housewife, she didn’t know what else to do except bear with her cheating husband.
“Nowadays, your wife has been quiet for the last few days,” Miles remarked while having dinner when Nina left the table earlier, after eating.
Shane shrugged and kept eating his food.
Miles looked at his face carefully. He was the same son who was dying to marry Nina and now he didn’t give a flying fu*ck that his wife had gone quiet. She was talking less, not eating properly, and was getting weaker.
“Why don’t you take her for a check-up?” Miles asked Shane who was now eating yogurt from the small container.
“Why?” Shane placed a spoonful in his mouth, “she looks alright to me.”
Miles kept looking at his son and for a moment felt sad for him, “Don’t you want an heir who can take care of the business empire that you built after a lot of hard work.”
Shane’s hand stopped near his mouth which had a cucumber slice in its grip.
“Dad!”
“Don’t dad me, son,” he told him softly, “do you even know where she goes and whom she meets? If you people are taking precautions, then better warn her not to prolong it because, in our families, heirs are preferred. God forbid if something happens to you, I don’t want her to take away our family wealth. You worked hard to be here where you are. Think of it, son.”
Miles had left the table, but Shane was still stuck in the conversation.
How could he convince Nina about the baby when she didn’t want to get intimate with him?
And then a small smile made its way to his lips, “Don’t worry, dad. Let’s work on bringing an heir to the world.”

Everything had changed meaning for Nina. No matter how much she was hating Gabriel, she couldn’t get rid of his thoughts.
Maybe because she wanted closure. A last word.
She wished; she could slap him tight. The way the couple left her in the hotel room, was quite humiliating for her.
Wearing a silk gown, she was lying in bed when the door opened, and Shane came inside. Without sparing her a single glance, he went to the walk-in closet with his phone glued to his ear.
“Hmm. Yes… ok… no… do it…”
Nina knew it was a business call. But tonight, she wanted him to toss the phone aside and talk to her.
Maybe not as a husband but as a friend.
“Are you going somewhere?” she asked him when he came out wearing a crisp shirt with black dress pants.
“Yeah,” he sat on the edge of the bed to wear his shoes, “late-night party with my business folks,” he said busily, and Nina jumped off the bed abruptly.
“Are they coming alone or…” she trailed off when saw him examining his cufflinks.
“Umm hmm. No. With their wives,” a long time back he had stopped asking her to accompany him to such gatherings.
Except for a few major events, their social lives were different.
“Take me. Please.” she requested, and he was taken by surprise.
“You want to come to the club?” he asked her, and she nodded quickly. She wanted to come out of this depressing phase and that was not going to happen unless she went outside and met people.”
“Fine!” he sighed and sat on the bed, “Go and get ready. You have five minutes.”
She took thirty minutes to get ready and when she was done, she looked stunning in the deep red gown.
Weird!
Shane didn’t praise her, nor did he bother to look at her face.
Wasn’t this what she had always wanted?
Not to get close to her and to let her spend all the money wherever she wanted, however, she wanted.
Sitting in the car beside him, she kept observing him. The man who liked holding her hand while driving, his focus was now solely on the road ahead.
“So,” she said awkwardly, trying to break the ice, “How’s the office?”
Shane’s only response was a hmm.
Disappointed, she started looking outside the window. The rest of the journey was covered quietly.
When the car stopped, he handed over the keys to the valet and Nina got out of the car only to find Gabriel standing near the door with a group of men, taking in her appearance.
Unlike Shane, they all were dressed casually. Only Shane was the one who was in a dress pants and crisp shirt.
“What is he doing here?” she asked before she could stop herself.
“Why?” Shane looked into her eyes, “he is the host and invited us to celebrate a business deal.”
***
Psst. Why Shane didn’t tell her that Gabriel was the host. Now she couldn’t turn back and run away.
The worst was yet to come. Naila was there with other business executives’ wives while drinking. Nina joined them silently and they all greeted her good-naturedly. Even Naila was smiling, “Hello, my friend,” She wrapped her arms around her, catching her off guard.
“H-Hello!” Nina felt her vocal cords stuck in her throat.
Bizarre world!
Where the wife found a woman having fun with her husband in the bathtub and still, she was meeting her so graciously.
Most of the time, Nina stayed quiet and could see Gabriel glancing her way, now and then.
“Why your husband is so uptight?” one of the women asked Nina, her gaze at the group of men who were laughing loudly sitting around a table. Shane was the only one who wasn’t laughing but just smiling sweetly.
“Yeah. But he is cute. Nina, you’re lucky to have such a husband,” another woman told her sincerely, “otherwise the men in our society are always ready to go for extramarital affairs when they want to flex money. Shane isn’t like that.”
Being their topic of discussion made Nina feel uncomfortable. She just kept nodding and smiling at them.
Later the conversation shifted to another man but now Naila was staring at her while sipping her drink.
“Excuse me,” Nina couldn’t take it anymore. She needed to get some fresh air.
Naila, Gabriel, Shane…
All of it was becoming too much to handle for her. Once she was out at the back area of the club which had a small garden with benches, she felt relief.
Most of the people were enjoying themselves inside, while only one or two drunkards were there almost asleep on the benches.
“Why are you here?” Nina wasn’t surprised when heard the familiar voice behind her. She was aware he would come after her.
“Why?” pasting a smile on her face she turned to look at Gabriel, “Do I need to seek your permission to move around, sir?”
Gabriel knew she was mad at him.
“No. Certainly not!” he placed his hands in the pockets of his jeans, “I won’t defend myself, Nina. I may not care for Naila. But I love my kids.”
He said that with open honesty.
“Hmm,” she nodded and looked ahead now, trying to ignore him, “good!” she showed him a thumbs-up sign.
“I know what you must be feeling when I left you…”
“Don’t!” She hissed, “Don’t you dare…” She got up and spun around to face him and glared, “Get lost before your wife shows up and… oh, Lord! For heaven’s sake…” She rolled her eyes and decided to walk away.
She didn’t want to talk to this shitty man.
“Nina,” he held her wrist, “listen to me. Please!”
Before he could say another word, Nina’s hand raised and slapped right across Gabriel’s cheek.
