Chapter 358: 358- Beautiful Woman
“Where is Mr. Sinclair?” Nina shot the question at the butler as soon as she marched into her house. The head butler was coming out of the kitchen after giving important instructions to the chef for the next day.
“Ma’am?”
“I’m asking something. Answer me! Where is Mr. Sinclair?” Butler thought for a minute and then pointed towards the study door, “There.”
A slow smile crept to Nina’s lips, and she uttered absentmindedly, “So… He is home!”
The butler must have thought that she had lost her mind. He gave his mistress a once over and then went to retire to his room.
Nina dropped her purse on the couch and then took off her heels. Holding her sandals, she went to the study and opened the door without knocking.
“Shane! Why did you leave me all alone at the party,” she stormed inside without looking at the face of the person sitting there, “You should’ve…”
She halted in her steps as she saw Miles perked up at the sound of her voice, rubbing his eyes with a fist.
“Nina?” he asked sleepily, and Nina’s gaze swept the room, searching for Shane.
“Miles?” her eyes darted to the elderly man, “Where is Shane?”
“Hmm?” he yawned loudly, which irritated her a bit. With age, he had become crazier and more stupid, “I don’t know. Why?” he brushed his hand over his face.
Nina cast a last look around and came out of the study. The silly butler had sent her there, thinking that she was asking about Miles.
She went close to her purse to receive the call on her phone, but the number was unfamiliar, “Yes?” she asked cautiously.
The call from a stranger didn’t make sense at this indecent hour.
“So! Have you found Shane?” Nina flinched when heard Gabriel’s voice on the phone. His tone was dripping with mocked concern.
Her grip on the phone tightened, “Why are you calling?” she snapped, hardly trying to hide her irritation.
“I can help you find Shane,” Gabriel offered and for some reason his offer made her stomach churn.
She let out a dry laugh, “Thanks, but I don’t need your help.”
“I know,” he said, and she could practically imagine a smirk on his face, “But you might waste your time looking for him. I know the place where you can easily find him.”
Nina wasn’t in the mood for any argument. She didn’t trust him, not for a second. With a clenched jaw, she disconnected the call and went to her room.
After dropping the bracelet on her dresser, she took off her dress and then started removing her makeup.
From this day, our lives are separate. Sleep whoever you want to. And you won’t poke your nose in my affairs.
Nina didn’t mind Shane going to whor*es. But if there was some special kind of who*re who had piqued his interest then she needed to remind him that he wasn’t a good-looking man. A woman could only take an interest in him for money.
That night she couldn’t go to sleep while waiting for Shane. Due to their separate sleeping arrangements, she wasn’t aware that he was spending his nights outside.
He used to be an introvert and was happy in his company. Then why was he staying outside? Well! She needed to talk to him about it tomorrow.

Miles was the only one who accompanied her at the breakfast table.
“Where is Shane?” she asked him after taking her seat.
“I don’t know!” this time he was thankfully in his senses, “He isn’t a kid anymore, Nina. Stop worrying about him and stop asking me about his whereabouts,” he told her busily and gestured a servant to put some butter on his toast.

Nina didn’t know who else to turn to. She finished her breakfast quietly and then returned to her room.
She canceled her appointment with a call boy who she hired a few days back to fulfill her desires.
Gabriel knew something and he was hiding it. Men knew each other better and they were good at keeping secrets of each other.
What should she do? Hire an investigator?
And what to tell him?
Keep an eye on my husband?
There was a call from the same number. Gabriel’s number!
“What is it now?” there was less annoyance in her voice. If he sensed it, he didn’t remark.
“I’m outside your house. Come out!”
Was he this gullible?
Nina wanted to slap him, “Are you serious? What are you trying to prove here, Gabriel?”
“I’m not trying to prove anything,” this time there was a tinge of rudeness in his voice, “I’m not doing anything against your will. Nor I’m planning to ra*pe you. Now stop acting like a toddler and come out if you want to know about Shane.”
Chewing her lip, Nina stared hard at the phone. She had to make a decision. What if this was a stunt from Gabriel?
He was right when he said, he never touched her without her consent. She needed someone to trust. Only this time it wouldn’t be a blind trust.
“Fine! Wait for me!”

They stayed quiet for most of the journey. He neither asked her any questions nor attempted to tease her. It wasn’t until the city gave way to the suburbs that, she cast him a curious glance, “Where are we going?”
“Don’t worry,” he said coldly, his eyes still locked on the road, “Once I take you to Shane, then you can decide if you’d like to stay there or come back with me.”
There was again silence. Gabriel had been a fun-loving man and never got this much quiet in life.
Nina kept waiting for their destination to arrive.
After a few minutes, a hut-like house came into view with peeling paint and a huge unkempt lawn. Instead of stopping the car in the parking, he rolled it slowly to the backside.
Nina got out of the car in confusion, “Whose house, is it?” she asked him in a whisper. He placed his finger on his lips to make her quiet.
Without waiting for her agreement, he reached over and held her hand gently. He guided her to the side of the house, stopping near a window.
Nina’s heart was racing in her chest. What if someone would catch them?
They were crouching near the window when she heard Gabriel’s whisper that was barely audible, “Look inside!”
Carefully she leaned towards the window, peeking through a small gap in the curtain. The interior of the house wasn’t as shabby as the exterior.
It was undeniably luxurious, with elegant furniture and polished surfaces.
Everything seemed out of place for such a humble-looking structure. And then Nina felt like she could stop beating and she froze. Her breath caught in her throat as a wave of disbelief washed over her.
Sitting on that chair, it was indeed Shane. And an extremely beautiful blonde woman was sitting on his lap. Her arms were wrapped around his neck as she giggled continuously at whatever Shane was saying.
