Chapter 359: 359- Nina Was Smart
On their way back, Nina didn’t talk to him. She kept herself busy thinking about what must be her next step.
Thankfully Gabriel also didn’t initiate any talk. The odd thing was there was no hurt, no pain. Maybe because they were living like strangers for the past seven years. The woman on his lap was not his who*re.
She was someone closer. He seemed to be…
He seemed to be in love with her.
Yes. The pain wasn’t there. Jealousy was.
She was Nina. The most happening lady of the society. When she got married to Shane everyone kept asking him from where he got his hands on the jewel.
Other wives used to follow her style and her dressing. And here she was. Living alone in a room despite her being married to Shane.
She did find Gabriel, but he proved to be a jerk. All this time when she was thinking that Shane was alone like her and paid for se*x, he had a side chicken.
The lucky bustard had a beautiful woman in his life.
“What’re you thinking?” Gabriel might have felt uneasy with the silence in the car, so asked her, tilting his head slightly.
Nina didn’t answer. She wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone.
“If you need someone to share your concerns… worries, then remember. I’m here for you,” he offered her when the car stopped at her house.
Nina wanted to laugh hard.
Trusting Gabriel meant trusting a cat with an open pot of milk.
“Why did you leave me that night at the party?” she asked Shane who was taking a file from the shelf.
He looked good. Fresh.
“Hmm?” he glanced at her with a distracted expression, “What?”
“I’m asking about the party, Shane… that we attended two days back!” she retorted and took a chair, casually flipping the pages of the magazine she was holding.
“Why? Are we a couple now?” he asked in amusement and took another chair to read the file. Nina looked at him carefully.
He radiated confidence, his aura always exuded power, maybe because he had money. But today she noticed a certain glow on his face.
“I thought we went there together as a couple, so it won’t look nice if one of us leaves the other one all alone.”
“You did the same to me,” he said casually, “When you left me for Gabriel, I never complained. So why now?”
Nina gritted her teeth in anger.
Control, Nina. Control your emotions. Act sensibly.
“No need to recall my past, Shane. I apologized and came back with a clean heart. My punishment is still ongoing. Right?”
A guilty expression flashed across his face when he heard her, but it was there just for a second and then it was gone.
“I’ll be careful in the future,” he said in a clipped tone and got busy in his file, a silent message for her to leave.
Not knowing what else to do or say, she got up and left the room.
Her insides had started burning. The image of that blonde’s face kept flashing up in her mind.

There was a fair chance that if she tried to hire an investigator from Sangua City then Shane might come to know about it.
She needed someone to locate a man outside Sangua who could do some digging for her.
There was a text message from Gabriel on her phone, “Let me know if you want to know more about Shane and this lady.”
Nina kept staring at the message and then her lips curled into a sly smile.
“Yeah. I need to know more about them. And I also want you to help me, Gabriel. But this time, I won’t sit back and chill in my bed. Nah! I’ll go and meet the lady. Let’s see what she has to say about all this. Let’s see how much money she wants to fill her tummy. Because once she’ll be out of Shane’s life, Shane might come back to me and have a child with me.”
She would never quit.
Nina smiled to herself as if she could almost talk to that blonde in her head, “Only one woman should be there in Shane’s life. And that woman is me, pretty girl. Not you.”

Nina packed her bags and left home telling everyone that she wanted to take a vacation trip as she badly needed it for her mental health.
Nobody would know that she was missing from home for a few days. No one was even bothered by her long absence.
She wasn’t needed here.
She took a house on rent in the suburbs of Sangua and got settled. It was a ten-minute walk from that blondie’s house.
After moving there, she got lucky on her first day when in a market she saw that blonde purchasing vegetables from a stall. In one hand she was holding a glass of pomegranate juice.
Even at this distance, Nina could see how her skin was so flawless. As a woman, even Nina couldn’t move away her eyes off her face.
Taking small steps, she started walking to the blonde who seemed to know the vegetable seller. Now she was saying something regarding the fresh produce of tomatoes from her kitchen garden.
Nina rushed towards her at high speed and bumped herself into the blonde.
“Ouch!” Nina held her spinning head and then gripped the post of the stall. The blonde was horrified when she saw the red juice on Nina’s clothes.
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” she came to Nina who was jerking her head to clear the fake dizziness.
“It’s ok,” Nina tried to bring a sweet smile to her face and then looked down where her white blouse was stained by sticky red liquid, “Uh huh.”
The blonde innocently tried to wipe the stain with her handkerchief, “Ma’am. I’m extremely sorry. If you don’t mind, you can accompany me to my house.”
Nina gave her a confused look. A fake one.
“I live nearby. You can ask anyone,” the blonde said nervously. Nina took some time to think and then nodded with a small smile.
“Yeah, sure.”
Blondie’s face lit up and Nina had this odd feeling. Shane was lucky if this girl had fallen for him. She was giving the vibes of a simple village girl.
Her first target was to get acquainted with the girl and then make her way into her home. With her smartness, she had managed to do both.
Wow! What an intelligent girl I am!
Nina wanted to kiss herself for being this smart.
