Chapter 360: 360- Hadn’t Met Recently
Miles Sinclair arrived at the front porch and found Shane sitting in his recliner. A laptop was placed on his lap, and he was staring into space with a small smile instead of typing on it.
Miles didn’t pass any remark and took the other chair opposite his son. Shane must have felt his gaze because he straightened and got busy on his laptop again, showing Miles that he was engrossed in his work.
“How’s the office?” Miles inquired nonchalantly and Shane shrugged, still typing on his laptop.
“Office is good, Dad! Why? Do you think Sinclair Industries isn’t in good hands?” he finally closed the laptop and gave a slight twist to his neck, “Urgh. I need to do some neck exercises.”
He started stretching while leaning back. Miles kept looking at him with that sharp scrutinizing gaze and then sighed deeply, “Where is your wife, son?” he asked and could feel Shane’s body go stiff at the mention of his Nina.
He curved down his lips with a shrug, “I don’t know!”
Miles’s stare turned harder, “If you’re not interested in a relationship with her then that’s fine. But her whereabouts should be known to you, Shane.”
Shane made a face, reminding Miles of his teenage years when he used to be rebellious, making an issue out of everything.
“Don’t worry, Dad,” he was now trying to reach for his toes with his fingertips, “She knows nothing about business. It’s safe.”
Miles’s jaw tightened a little at his son’s foolishness, “And you think I’m talking about business?” glaring at his son, he stood up from his seat. Shane also sprang to his feet in his father’s respect.
“What else can she take, Dad? That’s what I’ve got,” he placed his hands in his pants pockets and this time there was an uneasy expression on his face.
Miles’s face eased into a smile as he regarded his intelligent son, “No, son,” he said softly, “Business isn’t the only thing you’ve got.”
Shane felt as if the air had been knocked out of his lungs. What did Miles mean by that?
“You have more precious things to protect, my son. Take care of them. Otherwise, you might regret it. Nina might have accepted your conditions, but she is still the same woman who could do anything to get her hands on your wealth. And that wealth doesn’t include your business, son.”
He patted Shane’s shoulder and smiled, “She came to me after the party, asking about you. Next time don’t leave her alone if you are attending the event as a couple.”
Shane saw his father going inside taking shorter strides, “What if I do?” he asked his father.
Miles stopped but didn’t turn around, “Then Gabriel will get the chance to tell her everything that she doesn’t know. Ask your men to keep an eye on her. I don’t think she is on vacation.”
After saying that Miles didn’t stop and went inside while Shane stood there rooted to the spot.
If Nina wasn’t on vacation? Then where was she?”

“Your house is beautiful!” Nina told the girl who had given her floral dress to Nina so that she could wash her blouse.
“Thanks,” she didn’t offer much explanation about the living arrangements or any of her family members.
Before Nina could pop another question, the buzzer of the washing machine went off making Nina jump.
“Your blouse is washed!” the girl announced and scurried to the laundry room, “It’s ready to iron.”
She wiggled the white blouse in her hand and went to the iron stand, “What’s your name?” she asked Nina and Nina flinched slightly.
“Hmm?”
“Your name?” she reminded with the same sweet smile and for some reason Nina felt that her smile had lit the room.
“Nancy!” Nina came up with a fake name. The girl might already know who Nina Sinclair was.
“Sorry, Nancy, for today’s incident. Here is your blouse!” she extended her arm that had the blouse and Nina reached out to hold it.

“What is your name?” Nina asked her and swallowed hard.
“Sheila,” she told her in a sweet voice and Nina thought she had a beautiful name too. She shuddered internally.
Why was she so impressed with the girl?
I hope I’m not turning into a lesbo. Ha-ha.
She smiled at her thought, “Who else lives here?”
This time Sheila’s face paled, “Umm. Should I make you some coffee, Nancy? Or maybe tea?” she started tidying up her messy room quickly, “You didn’t tell me,” She asked Nina busily, “Where do you live?”
Why would I tell you when you didn’t ask the question in the first place, bitch.
Nina thought with a sly smile. She was enjoying Sheila’s discomfort.
“I’m here for my research-based office work and rented the house on Thirty-second Street,” This explanation was closest to her situation.
Sheila offered Nina some homemade cookies. Those coconut cookies were Shane’s favorite.
Nina’s heart began sinking.
This woman wasn’t an ordinary woman. She wasn’t in her husband’s life as her who*re. This was something deep.
Doesn’t matter! Money can buy anything. Once I offer her a large sum and ask her to leave my husband, she’ll reveal her true demand.
Nina could almost Imagine the scenario in her head.
Sheila must be pressuring Shane to get married to her, but he couldn’t because he was already married to Nina and couldn’t divorce her. Nina grinned internally.
In their circle, it wasn’t an easy job to divorce your spouse. It had serious consequences.
Name the price bitch! Her lips curled into a wicked grin.
Sheila came back with a cup of coffee and placed it on the table, “Usually city people prefer coffee, but I love making tea for my family.
Family? Is she kidding?
Nina was sure, Sheila’s tongue just slipped.
A woman couldn’t get a family without marriage.
The main door of the house opened suddenly, and Nina’s heart fell in the pit of her stomach, “Was Shane home?”
The person who came inside made Nina freeze in her seat.
“Mom! I’m home!” a child who must be six or seven years old placed his backpack on the floor and gave a gentle nod to Nina.
“Hey, sweetie. She is Nancy. Say hi!” she hugged the boy and then leaning the chin on his head she turned to Nina, “He is my son. Alexander.”
The words got stuck in Nina’s throat. She wanted to tell herself that the child was not Shane’s but the resemblance he shared with Miles Sinclair was undeniable.
The woman was not only in her husband’s life, but they also had a son together.
The age of the young boy showed that Shane and this woman hadn’t met recently. They went way back.
