Chapter 363: 363- Red-Handed

“Dad. Can I play on the porch with my friends?” Alexander asked his father who was busy talking to his wife about some serious matter.

Like other kids, he was excited to see his dad, bringing Legos and the other toys for him. But after initial excitement, he wanted to play with his friends.

“Sure, my heart!” he kissed Alexander’s forehead and slapped a hand on his bum, “Stay near the house.”

Alexander left while jumping happily.

“It’s good that he wants to play. It means he will be tired and sleep soundly, letting us do whatever we want,” he whispered near Sheila’s ear and Sheila’s ears turned red in an instant.

“Shut up!” she slapped his arm and tried getting up, but Shane hurriedly pulled her back, settling her on his lap.

“I love you!” he said burying his face into her bosom and Sheila drew his face tightly against her. She couldn’t believe she was so lucky to have him in her life.

“I want to make love to you,” he said in a husky voice and Sheila had a hard time deciding if she should laugh or cry.

He was never tired of making her happy in bed, “Can’t we lock the room and lie in bed without clothes? Alexander won’t know about this.”

Sheila had to suppress her grin, “Sweetheart. Just two more hours and then it will be Alexander’s bedtime. We can’t go to the bedroom until he returns safe and sound.”

The pout stayed there on his face, but he was also aware that this was next to impossible. Shane couldn’t afford to take risks with his son.

Just like his father, other people in his circle had links, and anybody could discover in no time that Alexander was his son.

“Nina’s divorce papers are ready,” he informed the woman who loved him deeply and never showed any interest in his wealth.

“OK. So when can we get married? Because I want to give you a wedding present!” Shane whose face was clutched against her body, straightened with a frown.

“Wedding present?” Sheila nodded, clamping her lips together.

“What is it? Have you already bought it?” he was asking her silly questions, and she kept shaking her head with a red face.

“Tell me, darling!” Sheila looked straight into his eyes and exhaled a long breath.

“OK. First tell me how much you love me,” the intensity in his eyes increased tenfold when he heard the question.

“More than my life, Sheila,” he kissed hard on her lips.

She narrowed her eyes, her smile a little faltering, “Are you sure there is no other woman in your life?” and Shane pinched the skin on his throat.

“There is no one except you,”

“Hmm. The thing is…” she took time to speak further, making him more impatient, “Mr. Shane Sinclair. We are soon getting a sibling for Alexander.”

Shane had shock on his face after the announcement, “What?”

Sheila nodded with a quivering smile.

She conceived Alex quickly when they got together but this one took a little longer and now the baby was coming at the right time.

“Oh, Sheila!” he leaned his forehead against hers until Sheila realized he was crying.

“Shane?”

“Shh… don’t speak anything…” he whispered and kissed her temple. Sheila started wiping his cheeks and kissed him.

“I love you so much, Sheila Sinclair. We will get married within this month.”

“Really?” she chuckled.

“Yes. Fu*ck with Nina taking my property. You are my property. There is nothing more precious than my kids. I can earn more, later. It’s high time we all live together.”

He was making promises and Sheila kept smiling through her tears. They were so engrossed in each other that they both jolted in surprise when his phone suddenly rang.

“Yes?” Shane wasn’t happy with the call so there was a sharp edge in his tone, “Who is this?”

“Shane… Shane… it’s me… m-my life… my life is in danger,” She sobbed desperately into the phone. Shane got to his feet in panic.

“Nina!” Sheila was also eyeing him worriedly.

“Y-you need to come here, Shane. She’ll kill me, Shane. I’m… I’m…” Nina’s voice was barely above a whisper, “I’m hiding behind a rock, and she is looking for me.”

Shane didn’t know what she was talking about. Why was she hiding behind the rocks? Who wanted to kill her?”

“Where are you, Nina? Tell me and I’ll be there.”

After a few minutes he cut the call and cupped Sheila’s cheek, “I’ll be back. I think she is in some kind of trouble. Hope this isn’t related to her business. Sometimes she is mean with her customers,” Sheila giggled at that.

He kissed her forehead, “Take care of Alexander. I might be late.”

With that, he left the house, and Sheila stood there thinking Shane should have met Alexander before leaving.

The poor woman didn’t know that she was seeing him for the last time.

“Nina!” he called Nina in the dark, using a flashlight from the car. It was a deserted area in Sangua that had a dense forest on one side and a rocky area on the other.

“Nina!” he called her again and tried to make a call, but her phone was now switched off.

However, he stopped when heard footsteps coming closer.

“Hello! Who is there?” he asked the person but there was no response.

“I’m asking you, dude. Who is there? Tell me!” After a few minutes, someone came out from behind the rocks.

“N-Naila?” he lowered the flashlight a bit when she hid her face with one hand.

“Shane? What are you doing here?” she headed to him with a confused face.

“Where is Nina?” he asked, looking around worriedly, and then his eyes snapped at her face, “Were you trying to kill her?”

“Kill her?” Naila shook her head, “You must be delusional, dude. Nina called me, to reach here quickly because she wanted to tell me something about Gabriel.”

Shane felt odd, “And she called me because someone… apparently, a woman was trying to kill her. She was panicked, Naila.”

Naila raised her shoulder, she needed to get back to her babies who she couldn’t leave for long.

“If Nina wasn’t in trouble… why did she call me here? I don’t think I should trust Naila.” He thought to himself.

Both of them were standing there confused until they felt that there was a third person too. Before Shane could turn and move the flashlight to check, Nina’s voice came from the dark, “I called you both to catch you two red-handed for having an affair at my back.”

“What?” Shane whispered.

“What are you saying, Nina?” Naila asked in a shocked voice.
