Chapter 371: 371- Heart Attack
Gabriel quickly held her hand, “What do you mean, he is your son?” He got up from his seat and pulled her to him, “Don’t you think, you’re ditching me today? Huh!” He asked her with an intense gaze focused on her face.
The same gaze always made her blush whenever she received it from him.
“B…but Gabriel… Rafael…”
“I don’t want any Rafael between us!” He roared not caring they were at a public place. Nina was startled but didn’t comment.
She felt like he was desperate. Desperate about something. Was it about her? Had he realized that he loved her?
Had he realized her position in his life?
Gabriel’s eyes darted around and then he left her hand while cursing under his breath. He tossed some bills on the table and then grabbed her wrist to take her out of there.
“Where are we going?” she asked him, but he had suddenly turned deaf and was just pulling her along.
Nina froze for a minute, fear gripping her. Gabriel knew that she was behind Naila’s murder. Was it his way of taking revenge?
She tried to shake off the image of Sheila picking up Rafael from the bed, that she just watched on her phone. She tried to free her hand from Gabriel’s grip, “Gabriel. Leave me!” he signaled a cab and asked her to sit inside.
“Nina, get inside!” he roared when saw her being hesitant, “I don’t have time for this.”
“No!” Nina also screamed and shoved him away, “You tell me! Where are we going?”
“To get married, dammit!” he shouted, “I’m sick and tired of staying away from you!” she could see his quivering lips and was standing there in shock.
Gabriel was taking her for…
“But Rafael?” She asked him and he almost shook her a little, “Nina! Look at me! Return to me! Forget that boy. He isn’t yours.”
“No!” a wild look appeared on her face, “He is mine. He is my son, and you need to accept him just like I’m ready to accept your kids.”
Gabriel wanted to kill the stubborn woman standing before his eyes. He was stalling for more time, not aware that Nina had a camera in her room otherwise he would have warned Sheila.
“If you love me then accept Rafael too!” she stood there with her lips tightly clenched, and Gabriel could see the tears welling up in her eyes.
The woman had gone completely crazy, and he felt sorry for Sheila.
“What if we get married?” he asked her, “After marriage, we can go and bring Rafael back. Right? Let him go with his mom!”
He just wanted to buy more time for Sheila and was ready to marry Nina if this was what it would take to save her boy.
“That will be too late, Gabriel,” she said in a teary voice, “Sheila is too smart, and we won’t be able to find her,” she sobbed, “I’ll lose Rafael forever.”
Gabriel closed the distance between them, “You won’t,” he held her shoulders, “I promise you, sweetheart. I’ll bring him to you. I’ll lay anything your heart desires at your feet.”
Nina looked at him with those puppy eyes, “Anything?”
“Anything!” he tried to smile.
“Then… then let me bring my wedding dress from home and I can join you in the council office.”
Gabriel who wanted to take a sigh of relief, was again on alert mode, “Now drop this wedding dress shit, woman. Come with me and sign the papers. I need to arrange a governess for my kids so that I can accompany you for our honeymoon.”
Nina chuckled and wiped her face. Gabriel was acting like a love-sick puppy. Just like she had imagined him when she used to dream of their wedding.

“Do we need an ID card for the wedding?” she asked him, wiping her face and he nodded slowly.
“Yeah. Of course,” he touched her wet cheek gently. He didn’t want her in his life anymore but right now Sheila’s son was more important, and this was the only chance to make up to her.
“Then drop me home so that I can collect it!” she raised her shoulder with a teary laugh.

“He is my son, and I can take him whenever I want. Wherever I want!” Sheila snarled and Alex stirred a little in her arms.
“But you can’t take him, ma’am,” the security guard told her firmly, “He needs to stay here. Mrs. Sinclair ordered us to keep an eye on you.”
“Then check my bag. I don’t have anything to steal from this house. But you can’t stop me or my son from going out! Or is this house turned into a jail?”
The guard opened his mouth to argue again when Miles’s cold voice boomed, “Let her go!”
The guard quickly took off his cap to pay respect to the senior Sinclair man.
“Sir!” he saluted and hit his foot on the ground.
Miles nodded and then raised his hand to signal him to open the gate, “Let her go. She isn’t stealing anything. I have already checked her bags,” then he turned to Sheila, “You get lost. The trash should stay outside our home.”
Sheila was shocked before she realized the old man was actually helping her. She nodded at him with her tear-filled eyes, mouthing a silent ‘thank you’.
Instead of acknowledging it, Miles pointed his stick to the main gates, “Get out and never show me your face again.”
After that, he started coughing. With Alex’s cheek glued to her chest, she looked over her shoulder one last time and then crossed the gates that were just opened by the guards.
The plan was successful. Thanks to Gabriel and Miles. Some day she would want to pay them back with the same kindness and love, that they showed her.

Nina got out of the cab and asked the guard to open the gate, “Ms. Sheila tried to escape with my son. I hope she didn’t succeed in it. Where is she?” she asked the man urgently who was giving her a confused look.
“Oh, come on! Don’t act dumb,” she rolled her eyes and looked over her shoulder where Gabriel who was sitting in the cab, had started talking on the phone.
“Ma’am… Mister Sinclair… he asked us to let her go… as she wasn’t stealing anything from the house.”
Nina felt as if she could have a heart attack at any moment.
