Chapter 372: 372- Mom!
Nina thought she could get a heart attack any minute.
“Mister Sinclair?” she spat in anger, “Don’t you know he is already dead? The only Mister Sinclair in this house is my son. Rafael Sinclair.”
“Ma’am. I’m talking about Miles Sinclair. He asked us to let them go. We wanted to check her bags but there were no bags with her. She was only carrying her son.”
Nina kept looking at the guard in astonishment and then her hand raised in the air, leaving the mark of her fingers on the guard’s cheek, “You low life! How dare you? How dare you try to let her go like this!”
She then walked inside and found the maids cleaning the living room. Her gaze darted to the same maid who she gave the responsibility to keep an eye on them.
Nina closed the distance, “Where is my son?”
The maid was standing there like a statue, not able to move, “Ma’am!”
A slap landed on her cheek as well.
“You pathetic bitch! I gave you a responsibility and you did this to me!” Right now, it wasn’t about that kid.
It was about her self-respect. The feeling that she had almost lost to Sheila.
And then it was her wedding day too.
She must be the most tormented bride who was about to get married to the love of her life but couldn’t keep an eye on that silly village girl.
What should I do? If I ask my butler to kill her then everyone will be confident that I am involved in the previous murders too.
She was standing there, perplexed when she heard the clicking of the stick against the floor. Miles was coming and Nina wondered if he had taken the dose of his medicine this morning.
He might be shivering but he seemed much better.
In the house, there were two butlers. One for the daytime and the other for the night shift.
The day shift one was painfully faithful to Miles while the night one worked for Nina. Right now, she couldn’t send Miles back to his bedroom due to the presence of the day shift butler close by.
“What’s going on?” Miles sat on the couch and leaned back his head, closing his eyes. Nina thought she saw the smile on the old man’s face.
“Miles!” she tried to suppress her anger, “Did you help Sheila in running away?” she asked the question but burned in rage when heard his light snoring. The old man had fallen into deep sleep.
And then she remembered about Gabriel.
“I… I need to take my credit card with me,” she told herself as she wanted to buy something before her wedding.
“Yeah. Use your credit card, Nina,” Miles said with a dark chuckle and Nina thought maybe she was imagining it. Didn’t he just fall asleep?
“Miles. I think you should go to your room and sleep!” she avoided rolling her eyes because now she wanted to go back to Gabriel and get done with her wedding.
They still needed to decide if they wanted to live here or in the new city where Gabriel just moved.
“No, Nina,” Miles, at last, opened his eyes and started moving his wobbly legs, “You’re the one who needs to go to sleep because after today you might not want to spend any more of Shane’s money.”
“And why is that?” she asked him with narrowed eyes.
“Because none of it belongs to you now. It all belongs to Sheila. Sheila Sinclair… and after her everything will pass on to her kids… I mean… kid. Alexander Sinclair.”
Miles informed her with a sinister laugh and Nina thought everything was snatched from her in the blink of an eye. After Shane, she had thought that now everything belonged to her. But no.
It belonged to the next Sinclair. It belonged to Alexander…

Umm hmm.
Not Alexander…
It belonged to her son, Rafael Sinclair.

Sheila had stopped running and was now walking tiredly with Alex still sleeping in her arms. She needed to reach St. Mary’s, and it was far from here.
She was desperately waiting for a passing vehicle that might offer her a ride. The grumbling in her empty stomach reminded her that she was hungry and hadn’t eaten anything since the morning.
However, she couldn’t afford to stop walking. Nina was powerful and could get to her any minute when she would be least expecting it.
“A little bit more,” she told Alex, who God knew if he was sleeping or was unconscious. She didn’t want to wake him, as she was still unaware of how he might react to the new surroundings.
All the incidents had started taking a toll on her, but she didn’t want to give up. Gabriel and Miles worked hard, and she didn’t want to waste it.
With limited cash, she wanted to find a motel that could accommodate them overnight.
She had to stop for a little while when she felt Alex moving in her arms.
She now wanted him to walk a little because her backache was getting worse.
“Hey, sweetie!” She cooed against his ear, he stretched himself and opened his green eyes. For a minute she felt his confused gaze on her face, but a smile stayed there on her lips.
And then something changed on his little innocent face.
Fear!
She could see panic and fear displaying on his face.
“Mom!” a blood-curdling scream escaped his mouth.
“Alex! Sweetie! I’m here!” Sheila tried to control his little body because now his small punches were landing on her, “Alex! Sweetie! This is Mom! I’m your mom!”
She kneeled on the road, tightening her grip around him but the child seemed to be in a trance.
“Mom!” he shouted again, and Sheila was struggling to keep him in her grip.
“Alex! Baby! Please stop doing this!” she tried to be a little stern, but Alex was still fighting her.
“I want my mom. I want my mom. I want her! I want her only…” he was squirming in her arms like a fish out of water.
Just then Sheila spotted a black car coming far from the road, towards them. She thought of stopping it but then her heart started sinking when she realized that the black car wasn’t alone. It was being followed by a dozen more similar cars.
What the hell!
She tried to scoop up her son quickly so that she could hide in the nearby forest but Alex wasn’t cooperating.
He was still in that phase where he didn’t want to listen to her.
The car got slow and stopped just close to her. The rest of them also stopped behind it. The car door opened, and someone got out. Sheila heard the heels clicking against the hard pavement.
Sheila didn’t have to look up to see who it was.
Nina!
“Son!” Nina crouched down near Sheila, ignoring her. She reached out to take Alex from Sheila’s arms. Before Sheila could snap at her, her son was already in Nina’s arms, cradled against her chest.
“Mom!” Alex mumbled and miraculously he had calmed down.
“Yes, my son. I’m here. I’m right here with you.”
Sheila raised her face and found Nina looking straight at her.
