Chapter 376: 376- Nina destroyed her family
My dear Giana.
I’m leaving this letter for you before going to look for your brother. I’m being positive and expect to return to you in time along with your brother. But if I don’t… by any chance… then Sister Sambal will take care of you.
Once you turn eighteen, go to your brother Alexander who might be known as Rafael Sinclair. Nina Sinclair is the one who destroyed our home and our peaceful lives, and I wish I could fight her and take revenge. But I’m too weak for it. I have no influential man at my back. No power. No money.
I might leave your brother, Alexander with Nina for the time being. However, if Nina thinks I’ve given up on my son, then there is no bigger fool than her.
Sweetheart!
I don’t know why I’m writing this. I’m sure we will lead a perfect life and someday we will be laughing while reading this letter together.
Your father always wanted a girl, and I wished you had known him. He was the kindest and most sincere man I ever met.
Now I’ll end this letter as I need to go and meet your brother. I won’t force him, Giana. If he won’t come back, I’ll wait until he gets a little more grown up and more handsome.
You take very good care of yourself.
Your mom, Sheila!
I love you, my honey bun!
After reading the letter eighteen-year-old Giana folded it and glued it to her chest.
Mother Sambal was standing close to her, her hand was placed on Giana’s shoulder.
“She never came back, Giana,” Sister Sambal said, closing her eyes, “the same night we got the news that she was found dead among those dense trees. Someone killed her brutally.”
Giana cried silently while listening to this. No one had ever shared this news with her, and no kid in the orphanage had ever tried to ask the higher authorities of St. Mary’s about their biological parents.
“Giana. You’re Mr. Miles Sinclair’s granddaughter. He was the only one who knew about you until he died. He couldn’t favor you openly because of Nina Sinclair. Otherwise, Nina could come after you.”
Giana wiped her face and then turned to look at the motherly face of Sambal, “You’ve been such a gentle soul who did nothing bad to anyone, Mother. I have one request. Please don’t disclose my name to anyone who might try to do a background check on me.”
Mother Sambal got worried, “B…but why, child…”
“Because I’m not planning to go to the outside world as Giana. I’ll change it to Geena,” She squeezed Mother Sambal’s hand, “Please, Mother. Don’t let anyone know that I’m Giana. I want to be Geena for a few years.”
Sister Sambal cupped her cheek, “My dearest! Your parents gave you a perfect beautiful name.”
“I know and I’ve got my own reasons,” she told the older woman who nodded at her.
“Fine!” she at last agreed with a tired sigh and Giana hugged her.
“I’ll miss you,” Geena said with a teary laugh and felt Sambal’s hand on her back.
“We will miss you too, child. We will miss you too.”

After changing her name to Geena, she approached Nina Sinclair who was looking for an assistant but wanted to pay her in peanuts.
After working with her, Geena realized why no one liked the woman. In this world…
No…
In this universe, everything revolved around this woman.

Nina Sinclair was the center of her own universe.
She had three obsessions: Herself, her son, and a blonde daughter-in-law.
She was infatuated with Rafael Sinclair. She always wanted him to marry a blonde and that must be due to the complex that Shane preferred a blonde… a village girl over her.
Nina loved boasting about the wealth she had. Her favorite topic was Nina Sinclair.
Geena kept getting closer to her, trying to become her right hand. She continued investigating secretly while observing her boss.
After her job, she never met Rafael Sinclair but had seen his pictures. He was just as Sheila had described in her letter.
A handsome boy.
Sometimes Geena wanted to take him out of the picture and tell him that they were related. She wanted to call him and tell him that today she wanted french-fries with lots of chili sauce over it.
Nina might have caught her staring at her son’s picture and taken it out of proportion. The day she announced that she wanted Geena to be her daughter-in-law, Geena wanted to kill the woman.
Everyone at the orphanage kept telling her how she resembled Sheila so why couldn’t Nina understand?
The mere thought of Nina dreaming about tying Geena’s fate to Rafael was enough to make her stomach churn. That was the reason Geena got extremely clumsy at the airport.
She kept listening to Nina’s tantrums but couldn’t find it in herself to say no to her. In the office, Marissa Sinclair’s presence drew Nina’s focus away from her, and for that, Geena was grateful to Marissa.
She used to silently observe her brother from a distance who had looks, money, charisma, and …
His eyes stayed twenty-four-seven on Marissa when she was around.
He never even bothered to look in Valerie’s direction and Geena could see why.
Marissa was a down-to-earth, self-made woman who never flexed about her achievements. Geena’s interaction with her was very limited, but she thought Marissa was the only good thing that happened to Rafael.
And then one day, after Nina’s insistence she went to his office to lure him into marriage. He tried to be rude to her when found her hiding behind a couch but then something changed in his eyes.
It felt…
It felt like … he knew her. He was trying to remember about her.
That day the man who promised to pay her fee and encouraged her to continue her studies wasn’t a business tycoon. He was Giana’s brother.
Giana wanted to dance, sing, and jump like crazy.
She wanted to hug the man and tell him that hey! I’m your sister, bro. Until one day, Ethan realized that she was not serious about marrying Rafael and advised her to resign from her crappy job if she wanted to focus on her career.
Though Ethan knew nothing about her past, but he was a smart man and didn’t want her to play with her future.
Her desire for revenge stayed there but she just postponed it.
After the event night when she got the news that Rafael was dead, she cried.
She regretted not letting him know who she was. Deep down she was aware that Nina was behind him.
Nina killed her parents and then she murdered her brother when she got the chance.
Sheila was right. Nina was responsible for destroying her family.
