Chapter 432: 432- Safe Hands
In her excitement, the girl didn’t even notice his presence and walked past him while his gaze followed her till she got into a bus.
He came out of the trance and realized his blunder. He should have asked her name. Or at least about her whereabouts.
He didn’t even know where she lived and where she worked. If she was his office employee, she wouldn’t have left the office.
“F*ck! Why do I even care?” Muttering under his breath he went to his office and was still too engrossed thinking something when Paige Fletcher placed his coffee mug on the desk.
“Ms. Fletcher,” she paused near the door and tilted her body a little. Boss never liked talking before finishing his coffee. It was a routine.
Usually, one needed to discuss the appointments and meetings with Mr. Donovan after that coffee cup. Not before that.
“Send the security in charge to my office,” he told her without glancing at her.
“Now?” she asked him in confusion, and he nodded after opening his laptop.
Strange. The boss doesn’t like anyone’s face or voice before that coffee cup, “Sure, sir. I will.”
As soon as Paige left the office, George made a call to the HR manager, “Do we have any hiring interviews scheduled?”
The HR manager paused and then informed him that today was no interview however Mrs. Eileen was hiring the lower staff. As they were still short of it.
He sighed and picked up a pen to jot down something in his diary. But his brain kept wandering to that girl who was trying to fly in the sky.
George Donovan was used to beautiful girls around him, but that girl had something special in her. He wanted to know more about her.

“Here are the files, Sir,” Mrs. Eileen handed over the stack of files to Ms. Paige who rounded the desk and placed them in front of George.
“Not all of them have pictures here,” he remarked while searching through the applications of the appointed candidates.
“Yes, Sir. They will provide their pictures within one week of joining,” she told him with a smile, still not sure why she was called here.
“Hmm. Ok. Go,”
Mrs. Eileen hurriedly got up from her seat. When Paige had told her that the boss wanted to see her, she panicked, thinking someone had filed a complaint against her but thank God it turned out to be nothing.

Aniya had the rest of the day to herself, so she spent it discovering Sangua. The good thing was she was enjoying herself.
The bad thing was… Lisa wasn’t responding to her calls. Nor was Liam.
And that was worrying Aniya.
Her friends had promised her that they would stay in contact through texts and calls.
She sent a text to them, telling them that she had gotten the job and accommodation.
For dinner, she went to a café and tried their special sandwich along with a large cup of cappuccino. After all, she had to celebrate her success too.

“Here is your uniform,” Mrs. Eileen gave her two packs, “You need to stay tidy all the time. Being a maid doesn’t mean that you won’t be careful about your grooming.”
“Sure, ma’am,”

“Don’t call me ma’am. Mrs. Eileen will do,” she told her with a warm smile.
Aniya was introduced to other janitors too and then was explained about her duties.
“Anaya. You need to clean those male bathrooms for a few days. Nowadays we are short on staff, but I promise it won’t take long,” Mrs. Eileen told her.
Aniya felt strange. She didn’t have any issue in cleaning bathrooms, but male washrooms should be done by a male.
“Don’t worry. The male staff here is very good and there is already a male janitor working there. You just need to help him.”
“Sure, Mrs. Eileen,” If it was just for two or three days then she didn’t have any objection, “Mrs. Eileen… who should I talk to about that accommodation?” she asked her head with a nervous grin.
“Fill up this form and submit it to me before going home. Okay?” Aniya nodded and was about to walk out of the room when Eileen stopped her, “And Anaya!”
She quietly turned to look at her, “Don’t forget to submit your passport-size photographs, please. I need to complete your documentation.”
Aniya nodded at her and left. This was the first day of her job and she couldn’t wait to start her day. With all the cleaning supplies, she went to the male bathroom and started by wiping the mirror with the spray.
The staff here seemed cordial, and nobody tried to interact with her, nor did they make her feel ashamed of her job. By afternoon she had started feeling hungry.
“Here they have a small cafeteria where you can either buy your lunch or take your homemade meal there.”
One of the maids told her and Aniya happily headed there. She bought herself a butter croissant and a hot mocha latte cup.
She chose a desk for herself and started eating her lunch.
“I wish you were here,” she told Lisa and had to almost chuckle at her thought. By now Lisa would have been flirting with all the men including the boss. Haha.
Wait a minute. Who is the boss here?
“Excuse me?” she stopped a woman who was wiping down the café chairs, “Who is the CEO of Star Corps?”
The woman paused, gave her a quick once over, and then informed her in a curt tone, “George Donovan.”
Oh.
Aniya went to the counter to get another cup of latte. After paying the counter guy, she picked up her cup and stepped back when she bumped into someone. A shrill voice made her freeze in her tracks.
“Are you blind or something? You’ve spilled hot coffee on my dress,” Aniya swallowed and looked at the tall girl holding her white blouse between her fingers.
With a horrified expression, Aniya realized that she had burned the poor girl, “I’m… I’m… sorry… I don’t know how…”
“Sorry? For burning me? What’s your name? Where’s your badge? We don’t have space for clumsy fellows like you. Let me talk to Eileen.”
Oh, God!
Aniya tried to calm her, but the woman was now punching some numbers on her phone, “Can someone get me a bandage or an ointment?” she ordered to no one in particular in that same high pitch.
Aniya could feel her heart racing in her chest. This was her first day and how could she have made such a blunder?
The woman was now talking loudly on the phone, but Aniya couldn’t hear anything. This phone call meant no job and no accommodation.
No. She couldn’t afford that.
“Ma’am… please…I’m …” she was trying to speak but no voice came out of her mouth. Everything around her seemed to spin, even the floor beneath her feet shook violently.
Was it an earthquake?
Or was it dizziness?
Before she could collapse, two strong arms, held her from behind. A deep velvety voice murmured in her ear, “Hey. Don’t worry. You are in safe hands.”
