Chapter 440: 440- Kiss Me!
“Mrs. Eileen. Please give her male bathroom duty so she can see her boyfriend,” Olivia told the in charge with that teasing grin.
Mrs. Eileen might look stern, but she cared deeply about all her staff.
“Behave yourself, Olivia,” Mrs. Eileen warned her with a faint smile. Today it was much better for the girls as their duties were assigned in the meeting rooms.
Olivia, Emma, and Aniya were cleaning and preparing the rooms for the upcoming meetings, and along with that, they were having fun while working.
The door creaked open, and Paige walked in briskly. She scanned the room before locking her eyes on Aniya.
“Aniya. You need to accompany me as you’re needed to serve the guests,” Paige’s tone left no room for argument.
Aniya who was folding the napkins, paused mid-fold, blinking in confusion, “Me?”
Paige crossed her arms, “Of course. Our boss wants you there,” then she turned to Mrs. Eileen who was quietly sitting with a clipboard on her lap, “Mrs. Eileen. I know this requires your permission. I’ve got direct orders from Mr. George Donovan to bring her along.”
Mrs. Eileen didn’t protest and just raised her shoulder, “Alright. If it’s George’s call then she should go, I guess.”
Aniya felt a pang of discomfort. On one hand, he was treating her in such a friendly way, so gently, but on the other, he expected her to serve his guests.
Not that she felt offended. She loved her job. Still, she found it strange. Something wasn’t adding up.
“Aniya seems to be Mr. George’s favorite,” Olivia’s lips curled into a teasing grin, “Mrs. Eileen I guess you should permanently assign this serving duty to Aniya.”
Aniya turned pink but didn’t look back. She followed Paige to the conference room to serve the VIP guests.

“Here are the snacks,” Paige pointed to the small cart, “there are just five guests inside and you need to be careful about their allergies. Here is the list,” she shoved a clipped page into Aniya’s hands.
Aniya found her rude. Why every time did she pick her for snack serving? Weren’t the others competent enough?
Or was it Paige who was using George’s name?
The door to the conference room opened and the same man came out who was at her hostel building last night to return her phone, “Paige. Be careful. Mr. Ericson is allergic to nuts,” his eyes darted to Aniya, and he paused with a frown, “Oh. What are you doing here?”
Before Paige could utter some crap, Aniya gave him an innocent smile, “Didn’t you call me to serve your guests? Because I’m quite good at it?” her smile broadened, and she wished Lisa was there to give a pat on her back.
George pointed his index finger to his chest, “I …” he turned to Paige, raising an eyebrow, and the girl was smiling like a fool, but Aniya could tell, it was fake.
“Mr. Donovan. You wanted an expert so…” Paige gestured in her direction, “I think she is the best.”
George Donovan kept looking at his secretary with that stern gaze, “If it’s about the best then why don’t YOU serve it, Paige? After all, you’re the best I’ve got.”
Paige’s face got red with humiliation, “S-Sir… I… I…”
George ignored her stutter and turned to Aniya, “Please have a seat. I’ll be free within ten minutes,” he motioned to the only chair placed there.
With a nod, Aniya sat down and saw Paige trying to balance the trays before taking them inside. Just for a moment, she felt sorry for her.
“But why did she lie? That too so confidently. Poor her didn’t know that I had enough guts to confirm from the boss.”

True to his word, George was out of the conference room right after nine minutes, “Come on,” he asked her to accompany her to his office.

The good thing was, that Paige was nowhere in sight. Perhaps she was still busy serving the guests.
He held his office door for her, “Take a seat,” he pointed towards a couch and started taking off his jacket,
“I’m sorry for what Paige did out there,” he had an apologetic smile on his face, “Please sit down. Did you have your breakfast?”
Aniya felt odd but she nodded her head anyway, “Yes. I had my breakfast. Can I ask you what we are doing in your office?”
He was hanging his jacket on the corner stand, “I wanted to apologize on behalf of Paige Fletcher. She was way out of line, and I assure you I would make sure that …”
Aniya raised her hands and got up from the couch, “Whoa, whoa. Hold on, Mr. Donovan. Just issue her a warning. People do make mistakes.”
She didn’t want anyone to lose her job.
“Please sit down,” he motioned for her to sit back, “Have coffee with me.”
Aniya kept looking at him with that poker face, “You do know, I’m still wearing this…” she pointed towards herself, “this maid’s uniform.”
“I know. And I don’t mind it,” he tried to smile but failed miserably.
For a moment…
Just for a moment, his eyes dipped to her lips, but he was quick to divert his gaze.
“What do you want from me, George Donovan?” Instead of sitting down, she started walking towards him, taking slow steps until she was too close to him.
So close that her nose tip might bump into his hard chest.
For the first time, she didn’t add mister or sir, before his name.
“I don’t know… but… I feel like…” he hesitated and continued, “I feel like we know each other,” his eyes were roaming over her face, “You resemble someone I knew too closely.”
Standing there Aniya realized she was much shorter than him. She craned her neck to watch his face and realized they both were silently staring at each other.
Before she could realize what she was doing, her hand rested on his hard chest, feeling those hard muscles beneath her palm. Her heartbeat quickened.
She swiped her tongue over her dry lips and the small action caught his eye.
“I …” his voice dropped to a whisper, “I need… t-to kiss you…”
Aniya let out a nervous laugh and tilted back her head before responding to him, “Then go ahead,” she murmured, “Kiss me!”
