Chapter 482: 482- Mini- Mommy
Standing in George Donovan’s office, Paige Fletcher wasn’t crying but was super nervous. Olivia had arranged this meeting with George, who was sitting there with an expressionless face.
A Police deputy commissioner was also there asking questions from Paige.
“The CCTV footage of that certain time slot is missing,” he turned to look at George after taking Paige’s statement, “According to our officials, they asked the people around and informed them that they saw an aged man carrying a girl in his car. She was unconscious. He quickly placed her in his car and sped away.”
George wished he could burn the whole world. If the White Palace hotel employee had already left the city, then who could be the man who drove off with her?
If she fainted, why was she not registered in a hospital?
He looked at his former secretary, “I appreciate your honesty, Paige, but I can’t take you back unless I find Anaya.”
Paige wanted to defend herself, but then she saw the stubborn set of George’s jaw. She hesitated, and then, with slumped shoulders, she gave him a small nod.
“However,” George continued, “Until then… you can stay at Star Corps Hostel. I’ll keep paying you fifty percent of your salary.”
Paige stared at her boss in disbelief. Would he do that?
She was witnessing a rare side of him as he never showed kindness to anyone.
Of course, except to Anaya.
She wished she could run to him and hug him, but that would be out of line.
Instead, a smile broke across her lips, “Thank you, Mr. Donovan. I swear, I’ll prove myself. I’m not going anywhere until we find Anaya. Thanks again,” She left the office with a big smile.
After coming out of George’s office, the first thing she did was hug Olivia, “Thank you. Thank you so much for saving my job. I owe you, Olivia.”
Olivia just nodded. She was still worried for Anaya but if Paige was willing to help then she didn’t want to stay mean to her.

After about an hour, when George was alone in his office, his phone rang.
“Hey, Marissa,” he answered the phone with a forced smile.
“Where are you, man? I called you last night too,” George felt guilty for ignoring his friend, “Can you join us for dinner tonight? The kids are flying in– I was wondering if we all can sit together, just like old times.”
Before George could say anything she spoke hurriedly, “And yes. We have a cute little guest at our place. We’re sure you will love her.” She informed him excitedly.
“Why? You had another child? When?” George asked her in amusement.
Marissa and Ariel had been trying to pair him up with different girls but he never felt attraction in anyone.
If this was that attempt then it was futile as his heart was already taken. He could hardly breathe without Anaya. How was he supposed to sit through an entire meal?
“Sure, Marissa. I’ll try,” he said, gulping down his emotions that were all over the place. Because he knew he wouldn’t be able to make it.

“Hi, Mom! I hope you bought that white dress for the fundraiser,” Alex Sinclair kissed his mom’s cheek before moving to his sister Ariel.
Marissa slapped his arm before going back to the kitchen.
“Hey, Alex. How are you?” Ariel kissed his cheek and then looked behind her where Angela was staring nonstop at Alex, “She is dying to meet you, brother.”
Ariel told her brother, who was trying his best to hide his irritation.
“Seriously, it was supposed to be a family event,” he gave a polite smile to Angela and then ignored those dreamy looks she was throwing at him.

“Just take her on one date. Please,” Ariel pleaded with her brother with a pout but he was already shaking his head.
“Can you stay away from my romantic life dear sister?” he mumbled before picking up a glass that had iced water.
“Kids!” Both Alex and Ariel spun around when they saw Rafael walking inside.
“Daddy!” Ariel raced to her father and lunged at him, only to be caught by him.
“Hey, Daddy’s girl!” he kissed her head and placed her down, his arm still around her, “Alex!”
Alexander quickly made his way to his father, “How are you, Dad? Enjoying Sangua?”
Rafael slapped his back and chuckled, “Do you think I won’t enjoy a place where your mom is accompanying?”
Rafael gestured towards the chair, “Have a seat, son, and tell me what you are planning to do next year.”
Ariel was still glued to her father’s side, while Rafael was having this long-due conversation with his son. He wanted him to get involved in MSin with Marissa and him.
“Not now, Daddy,” he spread his long legs forward, “I’m more interested in the hotel industry.”
“Hotel industry?” Rafael accepted the beer can from his wife who had just joined them and took a seat nearby, “Where did that come from?”
“There are several hotels which aren’t doing good. Their owners are ready to sell them at lesser price than the market.”
Ariel noticed her mom continuously glancing towards the entrance door, “Are you expecting someone else, Mommy?” Ariel asked her mom, who seemed a little jumpy.
“Yes, love. Tonight, we have a special guest with us. I am waiting for her to come out.”
Ariel eyed her brother with a frown, “Guest?” and then her eyes lit up, “Georgie is here?”
Before Marissa could say anything, a nurse came out followed by a petite figure girl, wearing an olive-green button-down shirt paired with black tight pants.
“Don’t tell me, Mom. You brought her here?” Alex muttered under his breath.
“You know her?” Ariel asked him whose eyes were focused on the girl.
“Not exactly. Mom saw her in a boutique and thought that she resembled…” Before he could finish it, Ariel thought she had seen a ghost.
“O.M.G! Alex! She looks like our mini Mommy! And she is so cute! Who is she, Mommy?”
