Chapter 493: 493- Found Abi
The days were slow but happy and bright. The nights weren’t any more, darker.
It was taking time for her to accept her new identity.
She had always been Aniya but had to change it to Anaya. Now, everyone here called her Abi or Abigail.
Marissa and Rafael wanted her to choose the name, she felt comfortable with. They wanted to visit the court so that she could get her identity back.
Her documents needed to be renewed, and they wanted to do it when she would feel easy around it.
Ariel and Alex had taken a few days off from university to spend some time with her. However, Caleb and Celine had to fly back to Kanderton to attend school. Their bake sales were due, plus they were participating in the quiz competition too.
Aniya had gone to the airport to see them off.
And now she was missing them.
She was still thinking about them when Alex surprised her by plopping beside her on the floor cushion.
She blinked as he spread his long legs in front of him. He leaned back on his elbows and let out a dramatic sigh, tilting his head to look at her.
“You’re missing Caleb and Celine. Aren’t you?” he had a knowing smile on his face. Aniya made a pout and hugged a small throw pillow to her chest.
“It is nice having everyone around. I never knew that I had a big family.”
“Well! You’re lucky that Ariel and I are here. So, if you want any words of wisdom, then you’re at the right place with the right person,” he placed his hand on his chest and bent his head a little.
“Words of wisdom?” she shot him a skeptical look, “That’s new!”
He ignored her jab and rubbed his jaw in deep thought, “So, tell me. How’s your food review thing going?”
“I haven’t done much lately,” she shrugged, “You know… meeting you all and getting to know my family…”
With furrowed brows, Alex pulled out his phone, “You should be more active, Abi. People love food content. Look…” he tapped the screen and turned it towards her, “These guys are killing it with their reviews.”
Aniya took the phone and watched as a video played of an influencer excitedly tasting street food. What Aniya found annoying was the exaggerated expressions she was making at every bite.
She clicked on the comment sections and found mixed reviews from the viewers.
Alex scrolled the screen, “See this reel. He’s got millions of views, and look at this one,” he swiped it again to show her another video of an older woman where she was giving a detailed restaurant dishes’ review.
Aniya returned his phone with a small smile, “I get it.”
“So?” Alex raised a brow, “You can learn a thing or two from them. I’m not asking you to lose your originality…”
“Yeah. That’s what I wanted to say,” she leaned back, straightening her legs out, “I mean I can watch them for inspiration. Sure. But I want to do my own thing,” she hesitated for a moment and then placed her hand on his arm, “Thank you for being there and guiding me so well.”
Alex studied her for a moment and then smirked, “It’s OK, Abi. What are siblings for, after all?” He then nudged her shoulder, “By the way, I’m sure that you’ll be a pretty cool influencer.”
“You think so?” she asked him with wide eyes, and he nodded at her and kissed her head.
“Yes, Abi. I think so…” he said mischievously. Aniya wanted to tell him how she was planning to do it when they saw Ariel strolling into the living room.
Her phone was glued to her ear, and she was making faces.
“Is there something wrong?” Aniya asked her in concern, and Ariel tossed her phone aside. Instead of answering Aniya, she looked at Alex.
“I don’t know why… George isn’t responding to my texts or calls,” She almost fell on a floor cushion in front of them, “he never did that.”
The name made Aniya’s heart flip in her chest.

“Relax. Go and visit him at his office,” Alex suggested to her, “He must be busy.”
“I wanted to tell him that his childhood… best friend is back!” she said with a giggle, “No matter how busy he is, he always attends my calls.”
She then turned to Aniya, “Do you remember Georgie?” she asked her eagerly.
Aniya could only shrug with an uncertain smile, “Ahmm. Perhaps… a boy with black curls?”
“Yeah. That’s our Georgie. Now he is the CEO of Star Corps…” Alex supplied.
“And, Abi…” Ariel squeezed her hands excitedly, “He. Has. Turned. Into. A. Gorgeous. Hunk!”
They both ignored their brother’s groan.
“Oh. That’s good,” Aniya said awkwardly, “I didn’t know that.”
Ariel had started telling her a lot of things about George, and Alex kept yawning to fight the boredom until he put a stop to all this.
“Now enough crap about Georgie, please. Let’s play a board game. What do you say, Abi?” he wiggled his brows, and Ariel made a sad face.
“I wish Caleb and Celine were here,” And then she snapped her fingers, “How about I ask Mom and Dad to join us?”
“That’s a great idea!” Alex bowed to his sister, “Now do us a favor and bring Mom and Dad.”

For the first time in his life, George felt irritated when he received Ariel’s non-stop calls and texts. He didn’t want to respond.
So many days had passed, and there was still no sign of Anaya.
His phone pinged, and there was another message from Ariel.
Fine. Don’t talk to me. I just wanted to give you a heads-up, but I guess you aren’t interested anymore. WE HAVE FOUND ABI! Can you believe that? Now come over if you want to meet her.
Abi was back? She wasn’t dead?
He thought with a frown.
That’s good. I’ll meet her once Anaya is back.
