Chapter 499: 499- One sided Thing
Emma barged into Olivia’s room without knocking, her phone clutched in her hand.
Olivia, who was in the middle of changing her clothes, gasped and cursed under her breath, “What the fu*ck, Emma!” She quickly pulled her cotton trousers up, “Ever heard of knocking?”
But Emma wasn’t paying attention, “Urgh. You have got nothing new. Your ass isn’t that unique,” she shoved her phone towards Olivia’s face, “I got a direct message from Mr. Donovan’s new PA. They’ve found Anaya.”
Olivia’s eyes widened, “What?” she grabbed the phone, scanning the message.
“I was asked to deliver the message from the boss. We have found Anaya, and she is safe.”
A shaky breath left her lips, “Thank God. Text him back and ask him how we can meet her.”
Emma scoffed and tossed her phone aside, “Are you nuts? Seriously? Ask the boss’s PA directly? No way!”
Olivia rolled her eyes and looked around for her phone, “Fine! Then what do we do? Wait around? Our friend might need us right now.”
Emma exhaled sharply and plopped on the bed, “We wait for more instructions. Okay? It’s sweet of him to get the message conveyed, but we aren’t bombarding him with questions. It doesn’t look nice.”
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Olivia groaned at Emma’s response and said tiredly, “Come in,” still staring at her phone.
The door swung open. Their heads snapped up, and the very next moment, they screamed at the top of their lungs when they saw who was there.
“Hello, girls! Missed me?” Standing right there in the doorway was Anaya Jakes with a wide smile.

“That’s crazy! What do you mean you’re the lost daughter of Sinclairs …” Olivia’s eyes were wide open in surprise.
“That’s an ideal movie plot,” Emma was still in a daze, “Phew. Are we talking about those Sinclairs?” She asked Abigail in disbelief and stared at her as if it was a dream.
Olivia was kneeling on the mattress after Abigail announced in the gentlest way possible that she was the lost daughter of the Sinclair family.
“Marissa and Rafael Sinclair. Their love story is kind of legendary in Sangua city.”
“I know,” Abigail gripped the edge of her sleeves.
Emma fell back on the bed with a dreamy look on her face, “Imagine! The girl who scrubbed floors at Star Corps.”
Abigail giggled, remembering the way Ariel had said the same thing last night.
Olivia ran a hand down her face, “This is crazy,” she then narrowed her eyes, “Now I realize you do resemble Marissa Sinclair but still… are you sure? Like DNA test, sure?”
Abigail placed her index finger on Olivia’s forehead and gave her face a little push, “I don’t need a DNA test, sweetheart.”
Emma got up and placed the pillow on her lap, “Just imagine. A maid waking up in the morning and realizing you’re some billionaire’s missing kid!”
“Shit!” Olivia bent ahead and held Abi’s arm, “Your sister… is she George Donovan’s fiancée?” Abi didn’t respond to that, and her eyes were cast down.
“I asked her, and she said she isn’t engaged,” she clicked her tongue and looked up, “but then she wants to be George’s girlfriend.”
Her friends looked at her as if she had gone crazy, “Are you out of your fu*cking mind?” There was a hard edge to Emma’s tone, “You don’t even know if they are engaged or dating… or even in a relationship.”
“Ariel told me that she is very much interested…” Poor Abigail tried repeating it, but Olivia raised her palm.
“If she wants to be his girlfriend, then this might mean they aren’t in a relationship, Anaya… Oh sorry… I mean Abigail… Gosh. This is hard! How do you manage to remember your names? Aniya. Anaya and now Abigail.”
Despite the tense situation, Abigail couldn’t control the giggle that escaped her lips.

“Listen Abigail or Anaya or whatever shit you are,” Emma held her hands in hers and looked into her eyes, “You need to talk to George.”
Abigail’s hesitation was evident in her eyes, “About what?”
“About his relationship status,” Emma squeezed her hands, “He deserves a chance.”
“But my sister… she seems interested…”
Olivia let out a frustrated sigh. She wasn’t expecting this stupidity from her friend, “A relationship doesn’t require one-sided interest, Abigail Sinclair. If you and George are in love, then she must step back.”
Abigail freed her hands from her grip, “No!” she shook her head wildly.
“Why not?” Olivia was taken aback by her reaction. Her brows knitted into several lines, “You can’t decide on George’s behalf about this relationship, Abigail,” Olivia continued, her frustration bubbling over, “She wanted to hit her friend’s head with a rock, “If you two are interested, then Ariel is an extra addition to the equation. If she is a reasonable person, she won’t take the offense.”
Abigail seemed to be in a fix. She had met her family after so many years, and now she didn’t want to disturb her relationship with any of her siblings.
This morning, she realized that if Ariel was interested in George. He might have shown the same interest in her initially, but later, he backed off when he met Abigail.
It was hard for her.
“I can’t do it to Ariel,” Abi let out a slow breath, staring at her hands, “You don’t understand. I met my family after so many years, and they are so welcoming… and so loving…” She trailed off when her voice turned teary.
Emma held her shoulders and gave her friend a little shake, “It IS simple. You’re making it complicated.”
“Abigail!” Olivia called her name softly, “Are you scared that your family might not accept you after this? You think they will favor Ariel once they come to know…” she probed further.
Because this was the only explanation she could come up with. She had seen how George reacted when Abigail went missing.
“He loves you,” she whispered to her friend, “he is head over heels for you. Don’t lose him just because Ariel Sinclair has a one-sided thing for him.”
