MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM - Chapter 126
Chapter 126: First One Down
First one down
Despite so blatantly looking at the Blizzard monster, Christopher wasn’t sensed at all. After all, his mask didn’t just block the perception of one’s 5 senses. Even their sixth sense and other sensory abilities would be thrown off. So unless he was being stared down, he was otherwise hidden.
That said, he didn’t plan on staying that way for long.
He had a few ways to kill the creature, but he decided to experiment first.
‘I’m supposed to be able to cut off the connection beings have to reality via my will, so…’ He focused his attention on the monster that more or less just floated there in the thick Blizzard it passively created.
For starters, what was such a connection meant to look like? He already knew how he could sever it, but he wasn’t sure what he was looking for.
However, the moment he thought about it, his vision changed slightly. Everything was still the same, but now, he could see a shimmering blue thread that was connected to the entity.
He followed the thread up until it seemingly disappeared into nowhere, and when he tried to peer into where it had disappeared, all he was nothing.
It kinda resembled a fate thread, but not quite.
‘Weird.’ He shrugged, then he returned his attention to the thread.
He thought for a moment before stretching his hands out.
‘This should work.’ Then, he made a grabbing motion before pulling.
And in his eyes, the thread was suddenly broken apart.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
An ear-piercing shriek erupted from the creature with such force that the ground below shattered and exploded like it had been hit by a meteor.
The Blizzard also became chaotic and wild, surging out in every direction and engulfing everything. It seemed as though destroying the thread simply enraged the creature.
However, Christopher wasn’t perturbed and simply watched with his arms folded. And a moment later, from his point of view, the crystal in the center of the Blizzard shuddered, then dimmed.
Immediately, the Blizzard calmed down before vanishing, revealing the now dim blue crystal that wobbled in the air for a moment before falling to the ground. Only a weak blue light pulsing gently at the core.
Christopher appeared in front of it instantly and tried to rub his chin, but his mask was in the way.
‘That reaction just now was a last-ditch attempt by it to kill whatever severed its connection to reality in hopes of restoring said connection. Me. But after that, it just dried itself up.’ It wasn’t an unforeseen reaction, so Christopher wasn’t surprised. What did surprise him, though, was just how effective this Ability of his was.
‘I never really got the chance to test it since my only options were my people, and I don’t know if I can restore the connection once it is broken. But bow that we’re here..’ Christopher looked up again. There, he could see the thread that he had broken, the other half of it, just dangling in the sky, and it seemed to be slowly fading.
He then reached out with his will, grabbed it, and brought it down. Then he looked at the creature that lay there weakly and saw the other half of the thread, though this one looked dim and dead and lay there looking pitiful.
He grabbed the as well, then he brought the two ends together.
‘Reattach.’ He sent forward his will, and instantly, the threads reconnected. The thread that looked dead immediately brightened up, and the creature began radiating blue light again as the Blizzard that had died down before started to pick back up.
“Interesting,” Christopher mumbled, his voice sounding distorted due to his mask.
‘So not only can I break the connections, I can also recreate them. Then what else can I do? Can I simply weaken them? Reinforce them? Create brand new ones?’ His mind started to spin from the possibilities, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the creature that had recovered somewhat was observing him intently.
It had no eyes, but it could still observe the world around it pretty easily. That said, Christopher appeared shifty and hazy in its point of view. Like a mirage.
It observed him for a while more, then it moved. Christopher seemed to be genuinely distracted, so it decided to use that chance to take him out before he did anything else.
But even before it could mobilize its mana, it suddenly froze, then a line appeared down the middle of it, and it was split in half.
It didn’t even see him move, but Christopher calmly made a blade with his hand and sliced through the thing with nothing but pure Mana before returning to his thinking. It was as though he hadn’t even moved. That’s how fast he was.

“Well, I’ll experiment as I move. But for now, let’s get this stronghold placed.” He mumbled before asking Aisha telepathically.
‘Are the troops organized?’ He asked, and she responded immediately.
‘Organised and awaiting orders.’ She answered dutifully.
Christopher nodded and sent the severed ice crystal into his Dimension before stretching his hand forward, and then he gave a mental command.
The moment he did, space rippled in front of him, and a massive circle that was about 4 kilometers in diameter appeared on the ground.
It wasn’t a magic circle but a portal.
From the center of the circle, tendrils of energy began to rise, moving upwards like vines. Each strand simmered with a myriad of colors, native to the Primordial Expanse. And as the energy coalesced, coalesce, the foundation of the fortress began to take shape.
First was the base, the ground moving and shifting as the frost and ice parted and gave way to the materializing fortress that was slowly appearing. Well, it seemed slow anyway.
Stone, metal, and crystalline structures began to emerge as if the fortress was growing out of the ground itself. Walls formed in smooth motions, their surfaces covered with intricate runes that pulsed powerfully.
Then came the towers, rising like spires from the base. They spiraled upwards, not appearing too fanciful in their design, but very practical, designed to repel any enemy as seen with the equipment stationed on each spire. And it didn’t stop there as beams of light connected each spire, outlining pathways and bridges that then solidified.
At the very center of the fortress, a massive tree emerged. A miniature version of Eidrasil, the vibrant green leaves, and rune-covered bark standing in stark contrast to the bleak white and grey of the hidden realm. Its roots spread through the ground like veins, and immediately, a vibrant and warm aura of life permeated throughout the fortress.
When the manifestation was complete, the light faded, allowing the large structure to be seen in all its glory. It stood like a sentinel in the icy realm, its design both functional and aesthetically appealing.
Christopher stepped back with a faint smile behind his mask.
“That’s one down.” He nodded to himself.
He had put a lot of effort into creating each fortress since each one would play a significant role within this realm.
When it came to how equipped they were, each fortress possessed a number of both defensive and offensive enchantments, which were both very powerful and could be activated indefinitely due to them drawing energy directly from the Primordial Expanse.
There were also all sorts of powerful artifacts meant to help with defending the place. Christopher had gotten carried away a little bit and created literal magic rail guns because he found things like ballistae and catapults too distasteful. As well as other modern weaponry like heavy mounted machine guns, C-Rams, specialised artillery systems that rained down magic ammunition, and so on.
Besides that, though, he also took into consideration the differences between his soldiers, such as their size differences and abilities. With the appearance of the bigger species in the army, he made sure that the walkways, ceilings, and rooms meant to accommodate them were appropriately sized.
Moreover, combat abilities like flight, powerful magic, and ranged attacks required open areas to use, though that was more easily curbed since he could use space compression magic to make the training rooms larger.
There was a large courtyard where Eidrasil’s tree was stationed to give it ample space to spread its roots and thrive.
It also had weapon caches, storage for food and supplies, barracks, and the defenses that were mentioned before. With there being a portal room which was large enough to accommodate the potentially large traffic and supplies being shipped between fortresses.
Lastly, the fortress was fitted with enchantments meant to help keep the soldiers warm and combat the cold to make it easier.
All in all, the fortress was armed to the teeth and had pretty much all the necessities for the soldiers. At first glance, but seemed quite small since the towering ice spires alone were kilometers tall, but Christopher had made them smaller for a few reasons, among which being that a smaller fortress was easier to manage and required less resources to do so. Not that he was lacking in any.
With a sigh, he teleported to the center of the fortress where the miniature Eidrasil was stationed and immediately felt the gentle embrace of the tree’s life force.
He smiled, then he snapped his fingers and a large gateway appeared. And from within it, the soldiers began to step through.
