Chapter 127: You Look Kinda Familiar…
You Look Kinda Familiar…
In a short while, the inner courtyard was teeming with soldiers, big and small.
All of them stood at attention, looking at Christopher with both respect and reverence. And at their forefront, a familiar figure in light armor stared at Christopher with deep respect.
It was Titus.
“Master.” Titus bowed his head and Christopher nodded.
“At ease.” He said simply before looking everyone over, then he looked back at Titus.
“This group of soldiers will be in your care. Lead them well.” He spoke and Titus nodded with grim determination.
Christopher didn’t have anything else to say and turned to leave, but then he suddenly paused and tilted his head before sighing.
“Get out of my shadow, Umbra.” A moment passed.
“Aww.” A whiny voice came out of Christopher’s shadow, then a figure materialized out of it. The figure of Umbra appeared, his scales so dark that they quite literally absorbed light, making it very difficult to visualize his form properly even if one stared at him directly. The only other color was his purple eyes which were filled with indignation.
“Umbra why are you out already?” Christopher asked with a sigh, his tone similar to the one someone would use when talking to a child. (Since Umbra is a child)
“I’m boored.” He whined and Christopher rolled his eyes behind his mask.
It was quite amusing to see, especially since all the soldiers tensed the moment one of their two generals appeared. Besides the training meant for them to know how to handle the cold, the twins had put them through quite the training regime, and with the time dilation, well…
‘Jeez, he’s almost as bloodthirsty as Scarlet.’ He huffed.
‘That said, this isn’t a bad thing, since I was going to assign each person to a fortress anyway.’ He nodded to himself before speaking.
“It doesn’t matter. Umbra, you’ll be in charge of this fortress.” He gave the order and Umbra stood straighter.
“Will do!” He said excitedly, his tail swaying.
‘That said, make sure the soldiers experience hardship and don’t baby them.’ He added telepathically.
‘Didn’t plan to!’ The response came with such enthusiasm that Christopher felt a bit concerned for the soldiers.
“Master, if my elder disciple is here, then do I still have to lead?” Titus piped up with a curious expression and the two looked at him.
“No. Unless there’s something you can’t handle, he won’t interfere. So don’t get complacent.” Christopher explained calmly and Titus nodded and went silent.
‘Well, that’s about wrapped up.’ He debated for a moment before shaking his head. Now he needed to set up the next stronghold.
He teleported high in the air, and then he started flying in a certain direction.
Christopher could teleport the distance he wanted to traverse if he wanted to, but he wanted to explore this realm, and he also had time to think.
‘Chances are that I’m gonna cross paths with those clans at some point. And something tells me that I’ll cross paths with the Scions as well.’ He pondered.
The Realm was massive, but with the amount of forces and clans that entered, there were bound to be different people doing different things. Some might be stationary like he made his soldiers, while others might be very active.
And even those ‘stationary’ groups wouldn’t be stationary, only what they considered to be their base camps and the like. The soldiers would still be out and about looking for rare and valuable resources.
‘And the Scions are looking for those Cryo Cores pr whatever, so they are bound to be quite proactive.’ Christopher sighed.
Sadly, the moment they passed through the realm gate, Christopher and Aisha lost their ability to spy on them using fate.
It wasn’t as though they had suddenly become incapable of doing such a thing, but rather, it had become much harder than before, so it wasn’t all that practical to try to do so.

‘That said, om not gonna abandon fate completely. Who knows just what sort of things are in this place? Moreover…’ Christopher tilted his head slightly in a certain direction.
‘Chances are that things will get hectic the deeper one goes into this place.’ He noted.
Most of the soldiers couldn’t notice, but Christopher could pretty clearly feel the difference in energy density between certain spots in the hidden realm, and he deduced that moving where the energy was denser was the same as moving deeper into the hidden realm.
Christopher had many questions about that. What could he find? What was in the center of the hidden realm? And so on.
As he pondered on these things, he noticed a pretty extreme battle going on some ways away from his position.
A white snake monster was currently having a fierce Battle with a similarly white ape. The clashes of their battle destroyed the surrounding landscape.
This one seemed especially fierce too as the creatures were of a very high stage. Christopher judged that they were on the verge of transcending, similar to his subordinates.
‘The quality of their Mana is quite low though.’ He thought. This was a bit absurd considering that not everyone had a personal dimension that could enhance energy ten thousand times over and over again to achieve an impossible high purity, but it was what it was.
Christopher debated interrupting the fight but decided to leave the two creatures alone. But then he paused.
‘Oh yeah.’ He senses something underground where they are fighting and recalls that powerful creatures usually have a territory to themselves, so they wouldn’t clash under normal circumstances.
‘Chances are that the thing underground is a valuable treasure.’ Christopher tried to rub his chin, but his mask was in the way.
“Let’s see what it is then.” He muttered and teleported to where the creatures were fighting.
When he got close, he was able to grasp just how titanic they were in size. The snake alone was more than a kilometer long and the ape, while not as large, was still a few hundred meters tall with bulging muscles.
‘Hm, they are quite massive. The snake alone could slither over any of the walls for any of the fortresses.’ Christopher noted, but he wasn’t particularly bothered.
‘Good thing I made the fortresses have the ability to get bigger.’ He shrugged. He had kinda guessed that the creatures of this place would have titanic proportions, so he gave the fortresses the ability to get bigger if they needed to.
That said, the creatures didn’t seem to notice him, which wasn’t odd considering his mask. Still, it was a little comical to see, a small human standing not too far away from two titanic monsters that were tearing at each other’s throats.
Many would think the small human would be blown away at any moment, but surprisingly, despite the terrifying aftershocks they released, Christopher wasn’t moved an inch.
After all, he was an Apex-ranked entity, that fact alone made it so that the two monsters couldn’t hurt him even if he let them hit him directly.
‘Meh, whatever.’ Christopher shrugged and without much effort, he broke the connections the two creatures had to reality.
The effect was pretty much immediately as they both fell like a doll whose strings were cut, letting out pained noises.
Christopher paid them no mind and looked downwards, his gaze effortlessly piercing the floor to see what was below. And he raised a brow.
‘Now that’s amusing. These guys were fighting over a trap.’ He thought with amusement.
Deep under the ground, there was a small pond of crystal blue water. It looked incredibly pure and alluring, and surprisingly, it didn’t freeze under the abysmal temperatures.
Christopher wasn’t too certain about its effects, but the dense energy it gave off was very appealing to anyone who looked at it. Sadly, as he thought so, it was just a trap set by another far more harrowing creature.
Even deeper, Christopher could see a pair of cold blue eyes staring up, waiting.
And they were staring straight at him as well.
‘Ah, you can see me eh?’ His lips curled upwards. He didn’t need to do a close examination. The creature was also a being at the Apex rank.
They locked eyes with one another, but no one seemed to make a yet.
Then Christopher felt Scarlet’s excitement washed over him and he sighed.
‘Well, I wanna see how I fare against other Apex level beings anyway.’ He shrugged and held out his hand. His tattoo of Scarlet shone and the red blade materialised in his grasp, its chain wrapping around the length of his arm.
A moment later, the ground trembled and Christopher vanished an instant before it exploded violently.
Mountain-sized chunks of ice rained down like meteors after being blasted high into the air and a primal, powerful roar reverberated throughout the area. Space shuddered from the sound alone and the world seemed to tremble with terror.
Christopher reappeared high in the sky and stared down calmly. The snow cleared and he was able to see his opponent clearly.
‘Hey…’ He tilted his head as he saw a somewhat familiar sight. The beast was massive with four powerful legs and white scales that covered its body. Large blue and purple spikes rose from its back that went down its tail, and its maw seemed suited for crushing anything that entered it.
“… Shimo is that you?”
