MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM - Chapter 60
Chapter 60: Almost
Almost
“Cur… tis…” Titus croaked. His vision was red due to the blood filling his eyes and his ears were ringing. He could barely breath and every muscle in his body felt like they were being sliced apart. Yet he still forced himself to look up.
He could immediately tell that Curtis wasn’t in his peak state. Whatever it was that the knife had done, Curtis hadn’t been able to fully purge it in such a short amount of time.
But even then, he was still a forecast to be reckoned with. This was made clear when the Voidwalker in charge was smacked into a wall like a ragdoll and fell to the ground coughing violently.
Curtis then walked and stood in front of his brother, placing himself between him and the dozens of Voidwalkers.
Titus tried to say something but fell into a fit of coughing and Curtis said gently.
“You did well Titus. Don’t worry, I’ll handle it.” His tone was firm and full of confidence. Titus wanted to object, to tell him that he wasn’t in his peak state yet and that running would be safer.
But he knew in his heart that such a thing wasn’t happening. For starters, he knew Curtos wouldn’t leave him to die for any reason. Moreover, Titus doubted that he’d be able to do so even if he decided to run since he was still heavily injured.
So despite his unwillingness, he had to trust his brother.
‘Don’t die, please.’ He thought and fell forward, finally succumbing to unconsciousness.
Curtis heard Titus fall unconscious and sighed slightly. He looked forward and despite his angry expression, his mind was running.
‘This situation isn’t the best. As I am right now I can only bring out around 40% of my strength.’ He thought as he observed everyone closely.
‘At this rate, I’ll only be able to use Nova for a few minutes. After that I’ll run out of energy. So I’ll have to kill all of them before then.’ The moment he had that thought, the Voidwalkers moved, and so did he.
His chain, Nova, moved and swirled around his body as the Voidwalkers instantly tried to pincer him.
Ice and wind appeared on his sides as the Voidwalkers struck forth. But a bright blue barrier of Plasma appeared and blocked the attacks with relative ease. Then Nova lashed out and the two were forced to defend and were pushed back.
Curtis immediately targeted the closest among them, but his senses tinged and he ducked down. And the instant he did, something flashed overhead and a huge cut appeared across the walls of the hall with a powerful BOOM.
Standing not too far away, a Voidwalker was preparing to let loose another slash, but Curtis didn’t let him.
He decided to tap into his energy reserves and energy crackled around him before exploding outwards.
Numerous small but highly concentrated beams of plasma flew in all directions. However the attack wasn’t a blind one as it targeted each Voidwalker with stunning accuracy.
Each one didn’t carry too much power on its own. But there were hundreds of them, and so each Voidwalker had to defend against multiple. And Curtis instantly took advantage of this fact.
He took a step, and for a brief instant, his entire body flashed with blue brilliance, and then he appeared in front of one of the Voidwalkers.
The guy was startled and tried to retreat, but Curtis was faster. Nova immediately wrapped around the guy’s neck and a pained scream left his mouth right before his head was turned to ash.
Curtis didn’t delay and immediately went towards his next target, and in quick succession, he took out three more Voidwalkers in a similar fashion.
Something to not about his weapon is that it passively drew upon his Mana the moment he had it out, and that’s because of its unique nature as it requires Mana to maintain a solid shape since it’s made of pure plasma, and without Mana to keep it in shape, it can’t be summoned.
That’s why Curtis doesn’t have it out most of the time. But one good thing about it is that due to the fact that it’s made of pure plasma, he doesn’t have to do anything to make it deadly as it simply existing makes it a huge threat.
However, by the time he’d killed the third Voidwalker, the rest had managed to get rid of the beams and were already surging towards him.
Seeing this, Curtis unperturbed and instead grabbed his weapon and swung it twice.
As he did so, its brilliant light grew brighter, and the Voidwalkers prepared to defend themselves. However, the massive explosion they were expecting didn’t happen.
Instead, part of that light actually went into Curtis’ body, and then on his arm where he was holding the chain, his right arm, a tattoo the shape of chains appeared and seemed to snake up his arm and stopped at his face and crossed over his right eye which turned pure blue with no pupil.
Before the Voidwalkers could react, Nova flashed past several of them, and then an instant later, their bodies disintegrated.

“Defend!” The leader shouted and about four more of them died before the rest managed to huddle together.
Then the leader pulled out an artifact and activated it. And right before Nova reached them again, a black barrier appeared and resisted the onslaught of the chain either a sound that can cause one’s teeth to rattle.
Curtis narrowed his eyes and noticed it was the same barrier that had resisted his attack from earlier which seemed to be able to negate Mana based abilities to an extent.
‘I am really inclined to not care.’ Curtis thought and his figure flashed and instantly appeared in front of the Barrier.
Nova then wrapped around his arm like before and he pulled his fist back before throwing a bunch.
His fist seemed to almost roar as it tore through the air that was quickly Ionising simply from the heat and when it struck the barrier, it sounded as if an explosion had gone off as a tremor ran through the ground before it exploded with terrifying force.
The barrier caved in slightly before small cracks began to spread across its surface. Curtis could feel his Mana being dissipated as his fist stayed in contact with the barrier.
‘I’ll be able to break through at this rate thou-‘ Suddenly his eyes widened and he gasped as a tremor ran through his body.
Immediately, his transformation ceased and he staggered backwards, blood leaking from his nose.
‘Dammit! My Mana is already depleted?’ He thought with irritation. Ever since he got stabbed by that dagger, his Mana had been leaking like a broken bowl. And as such, he ran out of it much faster.
He hadn’t been able to recover fast enough, and so the issue still persisted. He’d been hoping to kill the Voidwalkers before he ran out, but he was too slow.
Nova trembled before vanishing and he fell to a knee. And moments later, the barrier vanished, revealing the remaining Voidwalkers.
“Well, that could have been bad.” The leader spoke casually as if a large number of his men hadn’t just been wiped off the face of the planet.
“Well, that was fun I suppose. So will you give us the Shard willingly or am I gonna take it off your corpse?” He asked calmly and Curtis looked up, even now his face showed no signs of panic.
“Well even if I agreed you’d still kill me.” He said calmly and the Voidwalker chuckled.
“Fair enough.” And then without another word. He summoned a black blade and raised it before swinging it down.
It struck Curtis and blood spilled as his head was pretty much split apart. His body swayed slightly before falling.
The Voidwalkers huffed and shook his head. It had taken some effort, but they had still achieved their goal.
Without wasting any time, he bent down and started to search Curtis’ body, looking for the Shard. But the more he looked, the more he started to frown.
Soon, he’d searched Curtis’ entire body but found nothing. Confused and irritated, he sliced his stomach open to see if he’d hid it inside his body somehow, but even then he found nothing.
‘Were we wrong then? Was it with someone else this whole time? Unless?’ The Voidwalker turned to see Titus who was still unconscious on the floor.
‘Hm, that would make a lot of sense. Giving it to him.’ He thought and started to make his way towards Titus. However, he suddenly paused.
‘Hold on… where is everyone?’ He blinked and looked around. There were 9 Voidwalkers left with him after Curtis’ outburst, but now they were nowhere to be seen.
He looked around, but besides himself, the unconscious figure of Titus and Curtis’ mutilated corpse, he couldn’t find any of his allies.
A bad feeling began to permeate through his heart.
The he remembered something, and the feeling intensified as he looked up and said with a bit of caution.
“Is this an Illusion?”
The smell of blood hit him first.
Then he noticed that Titus’ unconscious body was no longer there. And ‘Curts” corpse also changed. And on closer inspection one would realise that it wasn’t Curtis at all, but it was one of the Voidwalkers. And the corpses of the rest of his allies were strewn around as well. They either looked like they’d been crushed by some incredible force, or received an incredibly clean injury. Regardless, they were all dead.
The Voidwalker felt a chill run down his spine and said with a bit of nervousness.
“Well, the Title of the Insightful Deceiver is certainly well earned.” He turned and saw them.
Felicia and Han were staring at him coldly, and behind them, Curtis could be seen on a knee while Titus laid on his back beside him. Still unconscious.
“… Well, this is quite the situati-” He couldn’t finish his sentence as Felicia was already in front of him, her Rapier about to be driven into his neck.
