MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM - Chapter 80
Chapter 80: And So It Begins IV
And So It Begins III
Silver sat quietly on the city wall overlooking the large field that would soon become a massive battlefield.
His tail swayed behind him lightly, his legs swung back and forth on the edge. Clearly he wasn’t worried about falling.
‘Won’t be long now.’ He thought as he overlooked the field.
Behind him, centaurs could be seen moving back and forth on the wall, their hooves clopping against the hard stone.
All of them wore armour and wielded bows with dual longswords on their waist where their humanoid part transitioned into their horse lower body.
Each of them had a grim expression on their faces as they went about doing preparations before the main battle started. And Silver, despite his back being to them, was observing them via his senses.
‘These beings are so strange.’ He thought, though he wasn’t merely referring to the Centaurs.
Ever since Silver became Christopher’s subordinate, he was exposed a lot more to sentient beings than he had been previously. And he found them strange.
It wasn’t odd that he had such a sentiment. After all, he’d lived as a beast for most of his life, these things were still a bit new to him.
One has to remember that despite his young appearance, Silver was still the leader of a pack of vicious Wolves who killed anything that dared come close to them.
The only reason he even looked young was because Wolves grew up faster than most races. So that’s why his human form at the beginning was that of a child.
‘They worry about so many things.’ He thought.
Back when he was just a beast, all that concerned him was survival and getting stronger. After all, if he grew stronger, he would be able to expand his territory and have more access to better resources which would in turn, allow him to grow even stronger.
That was all that mattered to him back then. And why wouldn’t it? All he needed to do was kill anything that threatened him, enjoy himself with females and expand his territory.
If something bad happened, they’d deal with it, and if they couldn’t deal with it, they’d run away.
‘These guys know that if I wasn’t here, those Void Creatures would likely kill all of them. In fact, they are still skeptical of my existence and doubt I’ll be of much help. To them, dying is all but guaranteed. And yet they still fight. Why is that? Why not just run away?’ He wondered.
If the past him encountered something he knew he wouldn’t handle, then he’d put aside his pride and run. After all, what was the point of fighting knowing that you would die, and the thing you were trying to protect would be destroyed in the end?
That was his mindset. After all, many things could be accomplished if one was alive, nothing could be accomplished if one was dead. He could always come back and get his revenge when he was stronger.
And yet here these people were, fighting against something they knew they would lose against. Some of them… actually, almost all of them were scared, and yet they stood firm.
‘Why? What drives them? It’s not just these centaurs. Humans, elves, even the proud dragons are willing to lay down their lives in a futile situation. For what reason?’ He repeated in his head, but he already knew the answer.
He hadn’t stayed with Christopher and The rest of the gang nearly as long as he’d been alive. And yet despite that, he found out that the somewhat short time they’d spent together was actually some of the most fulfilling moments he’d experienced.
His relationship with them wasn’t as simple as being Christopher’s subordinate and the colleague of the others. No, it was something else.
If he had to put it into words…
‘It’s a nice familiarity. Something I look forward to going back to anytime we’re separated.’ He sighed.
A small part of him, a tiny stubborn part of him wanted to tell him that relationships like those were useless. All that mattered was helping his master get stronger so that by extension, he’d become stronger as well. After all, strength reigned supreme, everything else was an afterthought.
And yet as time passed, he found that idea becoming less and less appealing.
The strength was good for sure. But being able to just enjoy himself with the others was something he didn’t know he needed.
That’s why, despite questioning why the Centaurs and other sentient races would be willing to die pointlessly, he knew that he already knew the answer.
‘If there’s even a small chance sacrificing my life would mean what I’m protecting would be safe then there’s no point in hesitating.’ He sighed and answered his own questions.

He looked up and sighed again.
He didn’t know much about Lenax and Prism or Sinestra, but he knew that would change soon.
He saw Belladonna and Thanatos as older siblings he didn’t know he wanted. They both threw random jabs, especially Belladonna with her strange jokes and questionable behaviour. And yet he found it strangely endearing.
Meanwhile Thanatos, reserved as he was, was still the oldest one in the group, and knew a lot of things, often giving profound advice that one wouldn’t expect to hear from an Undead.
As for the twins, he saw them as little siblings he, again, didn’t know he wanted. They were adorable and often did things that caused Silver to find himself smiling unconsciously. And more often than not, he had to deal with their antics, but while they were annoying sometimes, he was more fond of the behaviour than anything else.
Finally, there was Kim.
‘Kim huh.’ Silver sighed. The girl confused him.
She had a bad past. Well, not that some of them didn’t, but he found hers to be particularly harrowing. Even he felt pain when his parents passed away. But at least in that scenario, it was a completely expected outcome And he’d made peace with it.
However, having your parents ripped away from you, and for a dumb reason no less, was bound to riddle one with unseen scars.
And yet, despite all that, she was still such a sweet girl.
She was patient and kind to everyone in the group. And though she almost never took the initiative to start a conversation, if she was pulled into one, she was earnest and always spoke thoughtfully.
Not to mention how adorable she was when she blushed after Belladonna made a dirty joke.
‘Huh? What am I even thinking about?’ Silver shook his head. That was weird.
He lightly touched his chest where his heart was and frowned slightly under his mask.
‘That’s strange, my heart is beating faster. Why? I sense no danger.’ Why would that happen? He’d just been thinking about how cute Kim was when she smiled-
“They’re Here!” A shout jolted him from his thoughts.
Part of him felt annoyed that hisbtrain of thought had been interrupted, but he pushed that aside. He had something to do.
On the horizon, a black swarm was rapidly approaching and the Centaurs quickly moved to get into position.
Centaurs favoured ranged combat and while they were very impressive in close combat, their incredible speed coupled with the powerful bows they could develop as a result of their naturally more powerful muscles proved to be more effective.
As such, they decided that if the Void Creatures got too close, they’d hop off the wall and charge them. After all, this height wasn’t an issue for them.
But until that happened, they’d use projectiles.
“Sir Silver Moon. Is there anything specific you want to do?” Christopher turned to see the Centaur he’d saved when he’d first come to this place next to him. He didn’t bother to remember his name, just his position.
“No, nothing. Just use the totem I gave you to empower your weapons if any of the Void Creatures get past me and charge at the wall. Other than that, do whatever.” Silver spoke calmly and didn’t wait for the Centaur to reply before pushing himself off the wall.
He landed surprisingly softly and stared forward at the approaching swarm.
He started to walk forward and rolled his shoulders as he did so. He could feel the gazes of the soldiers on him, but he paid them no mind.
‘Let’s get this over with as soon as possible.’ He mumbled and very calmly, allowed his Mana to erupt.
The Aura was suffocating and instantly encompassed the surrounding area which took on a Silver hue.
“Lupine Overrun.” He spoke calmly, and then high in the sky, an artificial moon appeared.
Then the sun vanished.
In a moment, it was as if it suddenly turned night-time with the full moon hanging high overhead and stars dotting the sky like a beautiful canvas.
The soldiers who were on the wall trembled and the General thought with shock and terror.
‘A-A skill that affects the world itself!?’ He Exclaimed inwardly.
Meanwhile, Silver who was still calmly walking forward said calmly.
“Come forth.” Then, around him, spectral Wolves started to appear out of thin air.
In a few short moments, about a hundred of them appeared, which was significantly less than what the Void army had.
However, each and every one of these Wolves possessed an Aura at the same level as Silver.
