Chapter 224: 224. Culinary Tournament.

The day of the culinary tournament had arrived. Students, contestants, and special guests had gathered around the venue of the day’s activity.

The tournament would be taking place in the academy’s arena.

The arena was big enough to contain a large number of contestants, judges, and excited spectators.

As everyone walked into the large arena, they could see huge magical screens hovering above midair.

The screen displayed the names and faces of each of the teams that would be contesting in today’s activity.

It didn’t take more than a few minutes for the circular seating area within the arena to be filled up with students from every hall who were cheering loudly for their favorite contestant.

Of course, Lilith’s fans cheered her on, and so did Orion’s fans as well because both royal candidates were contesting in this tournament, but the spectators were more focused on cheering for contestants who were in the same hall as them.

The spectators were doing this because a ‘Friendly’ reminder had been given to the students by the Headmistress, reminding everyone where their main priorities should lie.

According to the academy regulations, students who cheered for contestants in the same hall as theirs would receive a significant increase in their accumulated merit points.

This was the academy’s way of ensuring a free and fair competition between contestants but there were still a few students who wanted to be rewarded by Lord Asmodeus, so they decided to support Lilith in a moderate manner rather than the way they had been supporting her in the past few days.

With that out of the way, the spectators continued to cheer for the contestants.

Meanwhile, Orion stood confidently in front of his cooking station. He was currently flanked by Mia and Dahlia, and the trio were wearing matching aprons that were embroidered with the Stella Hall emblem.

The three of them had a look of both excitement and focus on their faces as they prepared themselves mentally for the contest.

Above them, the banners of Stella Hall fluttered gently as well, but right beside Orion and his girls were Lilith and her two attendants.

The rest of the top ten students also attended the contest and every one of them cheered for both Lilith and Orion.

“This place is amazing. It feels like we’re on a stage,” Mia grinned as she looked around while her silver tails swished excitedly behind her.

“Well, we’re contesting in the tournament, and we’re also on a stage, so yeah, we’re expected to feel this way,” Orion said with a smile.

“I know, babe, but it really feels amazing right, Dahlia?” Mia turned towards Dahlia.

“I-It feels good but there are so many people watching us right now,” Dahlia fidgeted with her apron while her purple eyes scanned the crowd nervously.

She had never been the center of attention in this way before. She could feel so many eyes looking at the contestants, including her as well.

The feeling was much more intense than when she first went on a date with Orion and Mia.

It was also a new experience for her but Dahlia knew that in time she would get used to it just like Orion and Mia had adjusted to things like these.

With that out of the way, Dahlia suddenly noticed that the roaring sounds of the crowds had grown louder and this was because the judges and announcers had walked into the arena.

“Good day, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all races. Are you all excited for today’s event?!!!” Ganesha addressed the spectators and special guests.

“Yeah!!!!”

“Welcome to the first culinary tournament of The Union World Academy! Today, the best chefs of our four halls will compete to prove their skills, creativity, and teamwork!!” Ganesha explained and the magical screens flickered before showing the lineup of the halls and the teams that were contesting.

Stella Hall:-

Team 1:- Orion, Mia, and Dahlia.

Team 2:- Lilith, Alea, and Mayzin.

Terra Hall:-

Team 1:- Luna, William, and Sylvia.

Team 2:- Spencer, Cassie, and Fred.

Lunar Hall:-

Team 1:- Scott, Allyson, and Sal

Team 2:- Lydia, Jake, and Kath

Solar Hall:-

Team 1:- Ali, Jafar, and Ian

Team 2:- Leo, Paul, and Miles.

Looking at the list of contestants on the screen, the audience erupted into cheers once again.

The elven students screamed wildly for Orion with their voices having a mix of admiration and pride.

“We love you, Prince Galdur!!!” A female shouted while waving a flag that had Orion’s name on it.

“You’re the best, Your Highness.”

“I love you!!!”

“Please, marry me!!!” Another female elf cried out, but her voice was completely drowned out by the noise of the crowd who were also cheering for Mia and Dahlia.

“Princess Mia, you look amazing!!”

“Princess Mia, you look beautiful, as always.”

“Lady Dahlia!! Fighting!!! You can do it!!”

Just as the elven supporters cheered on Orion’s group, a group of demons cheered just as passionately for Lilith as well.

“Princess Lilith!! You’re awesome!!!”A demon shouted as he amplified his voice with mana, allowing his voice to echo throughout the arena.

“Show them elves what real cooking tastes like, Your Highness!!”

“Yeah!! Destroy them!!!” Another added, but his words were purely out of friendly banter and not malice towards the elf race.

The other students cheered for the other contestants as well and now, the sounds of cheering echoed loudly within the arena.

Hearing the cheers around them, Dahlia uttered under her breath. “Everyone seems really riled up for this contest.”

Mia nodded in agreement. “Yes, that’s why we’re gonna give them something to talk about for years, right babe?”

“Definitely,” Orion replied with a smile before tying a white headband on his head.

A few minutes later the loud cheers quieted down as the judges took their seats at a grand table close to the center of the arena.

The head judge was an experienced professor from the culinary department and she was none other than Professor Daisy.

Daisy stood up from her seat to address the competitors. “Greetings contestants, the tournament aims to test not only your skills but also your ability to adapt and innovate. Each round will have a unique theme, chosen to challenge your creativity.”

“So, do you all think you’re ready for the challenge?”
