Chapter 100: She hates you!
Cornered, Gianna’s gaze darted frantically around the room, her expression wild. She still wouldn’t accept it. “I didn’t know she was in there!” she cried. “This is a misunderstanding!”
“Don’t lie,” Ava barked. “You were captured in the surveillance camera coming to the restroom after me. But you didn’t enter. Instead, you locked the room and fled. You wanted me gone.” She squared her shoulders as she looked toward the policemen. “Officer, take her away.”
As the policemen approached her, Gianna cried out frantically, grabbing Dylan’s hand. “Dylan, please save me.”
Dylan pulled his hand away.
“I made mistakes, yes, but only because I love you,” Gianna continued, tears streaming down her cheeks.
But Dylan’s gaze was as hard as stone, unmoved by her tearful confession. “Take her away.” He signaled the policemen with a nod.
“Dylan, you can’t do this to me,” Gianna’s cry grew louder. “You promised my brother you’d always protect me. Don’t you remember? He gave his life to save yours! He trusted you with my life, Dylan. How could you turn your back on that promise?”
Dylan hesitated for a moment as his dying friend’s face crossed his mind. But it was gone as quickly as it came, replaced by a steely resolve.
He had done enough to keep his promise to his friend – took care of Gianna, looked over her mistakes, helped her numerous times, and even hurt Ava. He wouldn’t become soft this time.
“I remember every word I said to my friend,” he started coldly. “I’ve kept my promise for years, always protecting you, always covering for your mistakes. I’ve overlooked so much. But no more. You were supposed to respect my wife, but you repeatedly messed with her, hurt her, and humiliated her. You crossed every line.”
He straightened his posture. “Your brother’s sacrifice was noble. But it doesn’t excuse the harm you’ve caused. If Nolan were alive, he wouldn’t hesitate. He would do the same thing I’m doing now. He would have no tolerance for someone who tried to kill my wife.”
Gianna’s face twisted in disbelief as her last hope crumbled. She had been manipulating him emotionally, using her dead brother. But she had never expected her well-tested plan would fail this time.
“How could you say that?” she choked out. “I’m still the Gianna you promised to care for! How could you turn your back on me after everything? You owe my brother a life. Don’t forget that!”
Dylan didn’t flinch. He had kept his word for too long, forgiving too much, enabling her destructive behavior. He couldn’t let his friend’s sacrifice be twisted any longer, not for Gianna’s selfish games. She had taken his kindness for granted one too many times. This was the end of it.
“Whatever I owed him, I already paid off,” Dylan snapped back. “All the evidence proves your cruelty. Do you still think I’ll defend you just because of some promise? You don’t deserve my protection, my care, and definitely don’t deserve to be called Nolan’s sister.”
Bitter bile rose to his throat, disgust twisting his features. “Nolan was a kind man, didn’t hesitate to give up his life to save me. You, on the other hand, are deceitful, heartless, and cruel. You’re nothing like him. You deserve no mercy.”
He turned his gaze to the officer beside him. “Take her away. The Brooks family has cut all ties with her.”
As the officer reached for Gianna, she recoiled violently, shaking off his hand. “Am I cruel?” she screamed. “Then what are you? You’ve always hated Ava and never wanted to marry her. You only married her to make her suffer!”
“Shut up!” Dylan roared, his posture tensing.
Gianna curled her lips into a menacing smile. She turned her attention to Ava. “You heard me right,” she sneered. “Dylan married you only to take revenge on your family for killing his parents. All his recent kindness toward you is just part of his plan to keep you with him so he could make your father pay for what he did.”
Ava felt a jab in her chest. She staggered, the horror of her past life resurfacing. Dylan’s betrayal, his harsh confession that he had killed her father echoed in her ears. For a moment, she could barely breathe.
“Don’t even think for a second that he genuinely cares about you!” Gianna continued to yell. “I wouldn’t have been able to bully you if he hadn’t supported me. He knew everything—about my schemes to hurt you, to drug you, to ruin you—and he stood by me, letting you suffer.”
Before she could finish the sentence, a sharp, stinging slap landed on her. Gianna was sent sprawling to the floor, her cheek burning from the force of Dylan’s strike.
Gianna’s hand instinctively flew to her face, her eyes wide with disbelief as she met Dylan’s furious gaze. She could hardly believe what had just happened.
“I told you to shut up,” Dylan growled. “But you didn’t listen. You’re still scheming. I made a mistake. I never should’ve let you into my life. I didn’t know I had been raising a venomous snake in my backyard.”
“Dylan, you hit me!”
Dylan turned around, sick to see her face. “Take her away before I kill her,” he thundered.
The officers moved quickly, grabbing Gianna by the arms and dragging her away. She kicked and struggled, but it was no use. “Dylan! You’ll regret this!” she screamed. “You’re pushing me away for that woman! Do you think she will forgive you? She’ll never take you back! She hates you!”
Her cries echoed through the hall, but they quickly faded as she was pulled out of sight. The room fell into a heavy silence, the tension lingering as everyone processed the scene they had just witnessed.

Dylan let out a heavy sigh, his chest tightening with a complex mix of relief and frustration. His fingers ran through his hair as he tried to regain his composure.
When he glanced at Ava’s direction, he saw her standing there numbly, her eyes empty. His heart lurched at the sight. He took a step toward her, wanting to offer some comfort, but before he could reach her, Lola rushed over.
“Are you okay?” Lola asked worriedly, holding Ava’s hands.
She had been backstage all this time, hacking the laptop of Gianna’s manager and overseeing the telecast of the incriminating photos and videos. When she heard the commotion, she rushed to the front and saw the cops dragging Gianna away.
Ava, still lost in the haze of everything, shook her head slowly. “Take me out of here.”
“Alright. We’ll leave right away.” Lola gently guided Ava away, but just as they began to walk, Dylan reached out, grabbing Ava’s arm.
“Ava, don’t go,” he urged. “I still have things to clear up with you.”
Ava stopped in her tracks, her body stiffening at his touch. She turned to face him, her face devoid of emotion. “After all this, I have no strength to hear anything.” She forcefully shrugged his hand off her arm, stepping away from him. “I am leaving, and you will not stop me.”
