Chapter 187: You won€™t get rid of me.
The next day€¦ Ava stirred from her sleep, her hands stretched upward.
But she paused mid-stretch when a weight around her waist registered in her half-asleep mind.
Confused, her fingers brushed against something warm and solid.
Her eyes fluttered open, and her breath caught.
There, wrapped firmly around her waist, was an arm.
Heart racing, Ava turned her head and saw Dylan lying beside her, still deep in slumber.
His face was peaceful, and his breathing was even.
Ava blinked, her mind struggling to make sense of the situation.
‘Wasn’t this a dream?’ She squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them again, half-expecting him to vanish.
But no-there he was, as real as the erratic thudding of her heart.
It wasn’t a dream €“ it couldn’t be.
‘Why is he here?
When did he come?’ Ava remembered falling asleep alone.
There was no one beside her.
How did he enter her room?
Disbelief and unease swirled in her chest as she stared at him, questions racing in her mind.
She had made it clear they couldn’t be together, hadn’t she?
Why was he still clinging to her?
“Dylan,” Ava called out as she shook his shoulder.
He groaned in response, his arms tightening around her waist.
“It’s too early.
Just sleep.” Ava wriggled against his embrace.
“What are you doing here?” Dylan blinked his eyes open slowly, his gaze meeting hers with a drowsy warmth.
“My home is where you are.
Since you refused to return to the villa, I came here.” “Uh!” Her jaw dropped as she gaped at him.
“How did you even get in?
Who let you in?
Papa?” “Tsk€¦” Dylan clicked his tongue with a smirk.

“I didn’t bother your father.” Suspicion flared in her eyes.
“Then how?
How did you get in?” His smirk deepened as he nodded toward the balcony.
Ava followed his gaze, her eyes darting to the balcony.
‘Did he seriously climb up here just to see me?’ she thought, realization hitting her like a jolt.
But she shook her head, refusing to believe the absurdity of it.
“What do you mean?
Are you saying that you climbed the pipe?” she scoffed, sarcasm dripping her tone.
“Yup,” Dylan said with a nod, smiling triumphantly as if he had done something for which he should be rewarded.
Ava stared at him with a gaping mouth like he had grown a second head.
Of all the things she thought Dylan was capable of, this reckless stunt hadn’t even crossed her mind.
“You’re insane,” she muttered, her heart hammering in her chest.
“I called you,” Dylan began.
“You didn’t answer.
I texted you, but you ignored me.
I waited outside your building for hours, just staring at your window, hoping you’d come out to the balcony.
But you never did.” Ava blinked, still reeling from shock and disbelief.
She recalled her frustration from last night, silencing her phone when she saw his calls, and purposefully ignoring his messages.
She hadn’t even bothered to check her phone afterward, assuming he would eventually leave her alone.
Never in her wildest thoughts had she imagined him taking such a drastic step.
Dylan’s gaze held hers, unwavering.
“It was freezing outside, and I was exhausted,” he continued.
“But I couldn’t leave.
I couldn’t just walk away without seeing you.
So, I did the only thing I could think of-I climbed the pipe and slipped into your room.
Luckily, you forgot to lock the balcony door.” “When I got in, you were asleep.” His gaze softened as he brushed his knuckles down her cheek.
“You looked adorable.
I couldn’t resist the urge to hold you.” Ava froze, his touch sending a wave of shivers through her.
In that charged moment, everything else faded for her.
The tension between them, even her own resolve seemed to dissolve under the intensity of Dylan’s gaze.
His eyes, deep and piercing, held hers captive, pulling her into a magnetic force she couldn’t escape.
The heat radiating from him surrounded her, pulling her deeper into his core, wanting to dissolve in him.
As his finger brushed against her lips, a shiver shot down her spine.
Her eyes fluttered closed, her lips parting involuntarily as if inviting him in.
Dylan’s breathing grew uneven, his restraint fraying at the edges.
Unable to resist, he leaned in, capturing her lips in a fervent kiss.
For a moment, she froze, caught between instinct and resistance.
Then, as if regaining control, she pushed him away.
“Stop,” she hissed, her palms pressing firmly against his chest.
A hurt look crossed his face.
“Why?” he demanded.
“You clearly want me.
I can feel it.
Why are you resisting?” “I don’t want this,” she retorted, struggling to get out of his hold.
“You are lying.” He held her in her place, pressing her under him.
“You want me, but you’re too stubborn to admit it.
Stop torturing us both, Ava.
You still love me-I know you do.” Ava stilled, her body tense as her glare locked onto his.
“You’re deluding yourself,” she spat.
“I don’t love you anymore.
Let it go, Dylan.
Accept it.
You’re only making this harder for both of us.” Her words cut through him, but instead of retreating, he sneered.
“Is that so?” A bitter edge sliced through his tone.
“You don’t love me anymore.
Fine.
So, tell me-who do you love now?
Nicholas?” Ava snorted.
Finally, his jealousy showed up.
“We have ended things between us, remember?
My life is no longer your concern.
Let me go.” She struggled against his hold.
In one swift motion, he grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head against the bed, his gaze darkening with a storm of emotions.
“Stop running from the truth,” he growled.
“Admit it-you still love me.” “Come out of your dreams,” she retorted.
“Look at me, Dylan.
I don’t feel a thing for you.” Her words hit him like a dagger.
His chest ached with an unbearable heaviness, but he refused to back down.
“You’re lying.
There is no one else in your heart but me.
It’s always been me.” He leaned down as though to claim her lips, but Ava turned her head sharply to the side, evading him.
His eyes flickered with sadness.
“Stop pushing me away,” he said with a hint of helplessness.
“You can try, but you won’t get rid of me.
Not in this life.” Ava refused to meet his eyes, her vision blurring with tears she wouldn’t let fall.
“I know you are upset because of Erica, but I have my reason for bringing her back€¦” Clang-Clang€¦ The sharp sound of glass breaking echoed from outside the room, startling them.
Ava’s heart leaped into her throat as she shoved Dylan away, scrambling out of bed.
She was afraid her father was hurt.
She bolted toward the door.
Ava came to an abrupt halt when she saw her father lying sprawled on the floor, shards of glass scattered around him.
The air seemed to leave her lungs as she froze in the doorway, terror rooting her to the spot.
