My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 207
Chapter 207: What was the name of the hotel?
Chapter 207: What was the name of the hotel?
Dylan replayed the scene in his head.
He clearly remembered the woman taking his name authoritatively as if she knew him very well.
But because of the effect of the alcohol, he couldn’t see her face.
Then, Erica’s involvement struck him like a cold slap.
“Why did Erica leave me in that hotel?
Didn’t she say she’d take me home?” A surge of anger bubbled within him as he reflected on her actions.
It was a deliberate act.
Erica had taken him to that hotel, knowing exactly what would happen.
She had orchestrated the entire situation, sending that woman to him.
“What is she planning this time?” he muttered, his fingers balled against the glass wall.
The thought of being manipulated filled him with frustration.
He needed answers, and he needed them fast.
But then he realized he didn’t know the name of the hotel.
“What was the name?” He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to summon the blurry details of the night.
A vague memory teased the edges of his thoughts.
Dylan recalled a fleeting moment-while being strangled, his eyes had darted toward the neon sign blinking atop the hotel building.
Because of his swimming vision, he couldn’t read it properly.
But one detail stuck: he remembered seeing ‘M’ in a bold letter.
“I need to figure this out.” With urgency propelling him, he stepped out of the bathroom, water dripping from him onto the floor.
He didn’t bother drying off.
Hastily wrapping a towel around his waist, he grabbed his phone from the bedside table and dialed Justin’s number.
The line rang several times before Justin’s groggy voice finally answered, “Hello?” “Can you find a hotel that starts with the letter ‘M’?” Dylan blurted out.
“What?” Justin exclaimed, his tone betraying his annoyance.
“You called me in the middle of the night to ask about a hotel?
Aren’t you at home?” His annoyance was laced with confusion; he distinctly remembered Dylan leaving work early to spend the evening with Ava.
Why was he disturbing him at this hour?
“Just do it €“ it’s urgent,” Dylan hissed.
The seriousness in his voice jolted Justin awake.

He sat up, his drowsiness replaced by a creeping sense of unease.
“What is going on?
Which hotel are you talking about?” Dylan exhaled audibly as he started to explain, “I argued with Ava earlier tonight.
I was upset and went to a bar€¦” He recounted everything €“ his encounter with Erica, then going to that hotel, and meeting that strange woman, who had tried to seduce him.
“I was too drunk to see her face,” Dylan admitted with frustration, angry with himself.
“I managed to get away, but that man€¦ he tried to kill me.
I hit him on the head, and he was injured.” Justin absorbed the shocking details, his initial annoyance replaced by alarm.
“It’s Erica’s doing,” Dylan growled with certainty.
“But I need to know who that woman was.
Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of the hotel.
All I remember is the letter M.” “Where was the hotel?” Justin’s voice came through, calm but focused.
Dylan sighed regretfully.
“My mind was a mess at the time.
I don’t know the exact location.
But I’m certain it wasn’t far from the bar.” “Alright,” Justin replied decisively.
“I’ll look for hotels starting with ‘M’ near that area.” “Do it fast.
Because Erica is cunning.
She’ll try to erase all the evidence.” “Got it.
I’ll get on it right away.” The call ended with that.
Dylan’s fingers curled around the phone a little tighter.
His jaw clenched with fury.
“Erica,” he muttered darkly.
“You won’t slip away this time, no matter what schemes you try to pull.
This time, you’ll fall into my trap.” An hour later€¦ Dylan’s phone buzzed, and Justin’s name lit up on the screen.
Without hesitation, Dylan answered.
“Did you find it?” “There are two hotels starting with ‘M in that locality,'” Justin began.
“One is Mellow, a five-star hotel, and the other is a small one called Moonlit Hotel at the carb.” Dylan thought for a while, his mind sifting through fragments of memory.
He pictured the small reception, the creaky floors, and the loose bricks that had saved him.
“It wasn’t fancy.
A shabby hotel with a small, empty reception desk,” he murmured.
“It can’t be a five-star hotel.” “Are you sure?” “Yes,” Dylan said firmly.
“The walkway bricks were loose-I used one to hit the man.
It must be the second one, the Moonlit Hotel.
Check their surveillance footage before Erica has a chance to tamper with it.
I need everything-especially the woman.” “Understood.
I’ll head there now and let you know as soon as I find something.” Ava tossed and turned in bed, her mind replaying the haunting image of the lipstick mark on Dylan’s shirt.
The thought of him being with another woman made her irritated.
“What else were they doing besides drinking together?” she wondered bitterly.
The idea of him kissing someone else made her stomach churn.
Her fingers clenched the pillow tightly, trying to quell the storm raging within her.
“He says he wants to come back to me, but he was intimate with another woman?
Disgusting.
Turning onto her side, she tried to dismiss the thought.
“I don’t care.
He can be with whoever he wants.” But no matter how much she willed it, Dylan’s face kept creeping into her mind.
Frustrated, she groaned, “What’s wrong with me?
Why can’t I get him out of my head?” “Missing me already?” Dylan’s voice reverberated inside the room.
Ava gasped, whipping her head toward the door.
There he stood-tall, familiar, and frustratingly nonchalant.
‘Damn it,’ she cursed inwardly, realizing too late that she hadn’t locked the door.
“Why did you come here?” she hissed defiantly.
“Go back to the bedroom.” But Dylan ignored her protests, stepping into the room with deliberate ease.
“I’ll sleep wherever you are.
It’s past midnight, and I’m tired.
Let’s just sleep.” He clambered onto the bed and lay down beside her.
Ava opened her mouth to object, but he pulled her into his embrace with a warmth that was both infuriating and familiar.
Ava squirmed, but he held her tight.
