My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 214
Chapter 214: The last chance Chapter 214: The last chance Gianna stumbled as she was shoved into the dimly lit room.
She hit the cold floor on all fours, a sharp gasp escaping her lips.
She snapped her head up, glaring at the towering figure who had forced her inside.
A volatile mixture of fury and dread tightened her throat.
“What is this?
Why did you bring me here?” she demanded.
Her chest heaved with rapid breaths.
The man remained silent, his expression as cold and unyielding as stone.
His silence only fueled her unease.
Gritting her teeth, Gianna pushed herself off the floor and smoothed her rumpled dress.
She strode toward the door, ignoring the man who loomed in her path.
But before she could reach it, he shoved her back with a force that sent her sprawling.
She landed hard on her backside, the impact jolting her and stealing the breath from her lungs.
Panic flared in her chest, momentarily eclipsing her earlier bravado.
Her mind raced with chilling realizations-she hadn’t been brought here for a simple conversation.
“What do you want from me?” she demanded again fiercely despite the fear in her mind. “Do you even know who I am?
I’m Erica’s friend!
She won’t tolerate you hurting me!” She thought invoking Erica’s name might shield her from his wrath.
But her misconception soon disappeared.
Erica strode in, her every step deliberate, her stilettos crackling against the floor.
Her lips curled into a cruel smirk as she stopped a few paces away, her gaze sweeping over Gianna with pure disdain.
“Friend?” Erica scoffed coldly.
“Don’t delude yourself.
You were never my friend.
You’re nothing but a pathetic loser who clung to me like a parasite.” Her words were like a loud bang in her head.
Gianna had the impression that her ears were ringing loudly, muffling the otherworldly sounds.
For a moment, she couldn’t respond, the betrayal cutting deeper than she had thought possible.
“But€¦ we were close,” Gianna finally stammered.
“For years, we were there for each other.

Have you forgotten everything we shared?” “I haven’t forgotten anything,” Erica snapped back, her sharp voice cutting through the air like a whip.
“You were useful once, and that’s the only reason I kept you around, parading you as my so-called friend.
I even went as far as getting you out of jail, believing you’d repay my generosity.
But you failed me.
Miserably.
And now, I have no use for you.” Gianna’s confidence crumbled under Erica’s scorching glare.
Terrified, she dropped to her knees, her trembling hands clasping together in desperation.
“Please, Erica,” she begged.
“Don’t say that.
I know I let you down this time, but I swear it won’t happen again.
Dylan won’t escape me next time.
I promise.” Erica’s lips curled into a sneer.
“Are you serious?
Do you even understand the magnitude of what you’ve lost?
Opportunities like that don’t come around often, Gianna.
He was drunk, vulnerable, and completely unaware of what was happening.
All you had to do was seduce him, but you couldn’t even manage that.
You let him slip through your fingers.” Her gaze flicked over Gianna’s trembling form.
“What’s the use of your so-called allure-this curvy figure-if you can’t even use it to accomplish something so simple?
You’re worthless to me now.
It’s time I got rid of you.” “No, Erica, please!” Gianna cried as she scrambled forward on her knees, clutching at Erica’s leg in desperation.
“I almost had him.
I swear!
He was starting to give in, but€¦but-” Her eyes darted left and right as she tried to come up with an excuse.
“It’s all because of€¦Ah!” Before she could finish her excuse, Erica kicked her away, sending her sprawling across the dirty floor.
“Enough!” she barked.
“You disgust me.
Guard!” She didn’t even spare Gianna another glance as she issued her final order.
“Take her away.
I don’t want to see her pathetic face again.” Gianna’s heart lurched as the guard approached her.
“Erica, don’t do this please.” Her desperate sobs echoed in the room as the guard seized her by the arm and dragged her away.
Gianna wasn’t ready to give up.
With a sudden burst of defiance, she wrenched her arm free and stumbled forward, clutching at Erica’s hands.
“Just give me one more chance!” she begged.
“I promise I won’t let you down again.” “Humph.” Erica snorted as she shoved Gianna back.
“You’re out of chances.” “It’s not my fault-it’s Ava!” Gianna exclaimed, clinging to her last hope.
“Because of her, Dylan has turned against us.” Erica’s sharp gaze narrowed at the mention of Ava’s name.
Her initial irritation gave way to a flicker of curiosity.
“Ava?” she repeated.
Seeing her chance, Gianna pressed on, her words tumbling out in a rush.
“Yes, Ava!
She is the reason for all our troubles.
She is the one who convinced Dylan to send you abroad.
She is the one who made him throw me in jail.
She is the root of everything that’s gone wrong for us!” Erica tilted her head, her expression thoughtful.
The guard yanked at Gianna’s arm and dragged her toward the room.
Erica raised a commanding hand and stopped him.
“Wait outside,” she ordered and signaled the man to leave them alone.
The guard nodded curtly and exited.
Erica folded her arms, her eyes boring into Gianna.
“What exactly are you suggesting?” Gianna swallowed hard, emboldened by the fact that Erica was listening.
“We have a common enemy.
If we eliminate Ava, Dylan will spiral back into depression.
He won’t have the focus to manage his business, giving you the perfect opening to take control.
Meanwhile, I’ll have the chance to get close to him, to make him see that he needs me.
Together, we can finally achieve what we’ve been working toward.” Erica took a moment to process her words.
“So, you’re saying we should kill Ava?” She arched an eyebrow with curiosity and disbelief at the same time.
“Yes,” Gianna affirmed.
“Getting rid of her will solve everything.
It’s the only way.” For a moment, Erica said nothing, her gaze locked on Gianna as she weighed off her suggestion.
The idea Gianna proposed was both tempting and perilous.
Taking down Ava wouldn’t be as simple as before.
Ava was no longer the naïve girl they once underestimated.
But if they succeeded in this, it would be a game-changing move.
Erica was doubtful but at the same time, she wanted to give it a try.
“Alright,” she said calculatedly.
“Since you seem so confident, I’ll spare you this time.
But make no mistake.
I won’t lift a finger to help.
If you succeed, you’ll earn your place back by my side.
If you fail, you’ll lose your life.” Giving her one last stern glare, Erica left.
Gianna stood frozen for a moment.
Slowly, she let out a shaky breath, pressing a trembling hand against her heart.
Relief washed over her-Erica had spared her, for now.
But her expression soon hardened with resolve.
“I won’t lose,” she muttered under her breath, her fingers rolling into tight fists at her sides.
“It’s Ava who will die.
I’ll make sure of it.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Angelica2511 Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
