My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 301
Chapter 301: Erica is in trouble.
Chapter 301: Erica is in trouble.
Dylan’s posture stiffened.
The mere thought of Luke exploiting Erica made his blood boil.
A part of him wanted to storm out and stop it, to protect her.
But he controlled himself, reminding him of Erica’s cruelty.
Erica had deceived him.
She had betrayed his trust, schemed against Ava, and worst of all, she had played a role in the death of his parents.
Every crime she had committed had led her to this moment.
What she faced now was the consequence of her own actions.
Beside him, Ava watched him carefully, her eyes flickering with worry.
She feared he might waver, that he would let guilt cloud his judgment and give in to Lydia’s plea.
She put a hand on his shoulder.
Dylan looked up at her and met her troubled gaze.
He patted the back of her hand as if reassuring her.
He steeled his heart as he turned back to Lydia.
“If you do bad things, you have to face the consequences.” His voice was cold and unyielding.
“Erica is a traitor.
She sold the company’s confidential information to our rivals.
Now, if she is in trouble, it has nothing to do with me.
She alone is responsible for what happens to her.” Lydia let out a strangled sob, shaking her head wildly.
“How can you say that?” she cried with desperation.
“She is your sister.” Dylan’s patience snapped.
“She is not,” he snapped back.
“The moment she killed my parents, she severed all ties to this family.
And don’t forget-she never once considered me her brother.
If she had, she wouldn’t have conspired behind my back.
She chose her path.
Now, she has to walk it alone.” Lydia’s heart clenched as despair engulfed her.
She couldn’t let Erica suffer such a fate.

Her trembling hands clutched Dylan’s sleeve as she pleaded, “Please, Dylan, show some mercy.” “Why would I show mercy to my parents’ murderer?” he hissed, shaking off her grip.
“She is the reason they’re dead.
If not for her, they would never have gotten into Thomas’s car that night.” Lydia’s face contorted with anger, her sorrow morphing into rage.
“How can you be so heartless?
She is your cousin!
How can you just stand by and let her suffer?” Then, as if realizing her fury wouldn’t move him, her voice softened, turning into a desperate plea.
“I know she made mistakes.
She hurt you.
She betrayed you.
But this€¦ this is too much.
Luke is forcing her into prostitution!” Dylan let out a bitter laugh.
“And whose fault is that?
Who told her to borrow money from him?
Didn’t she know what kind of man he was?
She made her choice.
She can take responsibility for it.” He turned to the officer, his expression void of sympathy.
“Take her away.
I don’t want to hear any more of this nonsense.” Lydia let out a piercing cry, her hands clawing at the floor as the officer grabbed her arms, dragging her toward the exit.
“No, Dylan!
You have to save Erica!
You can’t abandon her!
Dylan-” Her cries echoed in the hall, growing fainter with every step until the heavy doors slammed shut behind her.
All the other directors also slipped out of the hall quietly.
Only Ava and Dylan were left inside.
“Are you going to help her?” Ava asked.
She had no desire to help Erica at first, not after everything she had done.
But hearing what Luke intended to do to her left a bitter weight in her chest.
No one deserved that-not even Erica.
Dylan clasped the armrests.
“She should have thought about the consequences before getting involved with a scumbag like Luke.
Don’t worry.
The authorities will find her sooner or later.” Ava exhaled, still feeling uneasy, but before she could say anything else, Dylan reached for her hands, threading his fingers through hers.
A small smile played on his lips.
“This is our victory.
Together, we defeated our enemies.
Let’s celebrate.” Ava pushed aside the lingering discomfort and smiled back at him.
“Alright.
Tell me, how do you want to celebrate?” Dylan’s arms slipped around her waist as he tugged her down onto his lap.
“How about a vacation?” he murmured, his lips brushing against her ear.
Ava tilted her head, considering.
“Not a bad idea.
But give me some time.
I’ve just taken over the responsibilities of the company.
Let me handle the urgent matters first, and then we’ll go.” Dylan smirked.
His hands cupped the back of her head as he leaned in, capturing her lips in a deep kiss.
Ava’s hands pressed lightly against his chest.
“Dylan, we are at the office,” she murmured in protest, though her voice lacked conviction.
A sneaky smile tugged at her lips.
“No one is entering here.” With that, he kissed her again.
Ava felt the warmth of his embrace seep into her bones.
“You are impossible,” she whispered.
Dylan only grinned against her lips.
“And you love it.” Ava didn’t argue.
Instead, she melted into his arms and kissed him back, matching his fervor.
~~~~~~~ Erica’s heart pounded as she tiptoed toward the main door, her breath shallow, hands trembling.
She had to get out.
But just as she reached for the handle, a shadow loomed over her.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Luke growled dangerously.
Erica froze, dread surging through her veins.
Slowly, she turned, meeting his dark, narrowed eyes.
“Trying to run away?” Luke sneered, stepping closer.
She stumbled backward, shaking her head frantically.
“No€¦ I-I was just-” Before she could finish, Luke’s grip clamped around her wrist like a vice.
With one sharp tug, he yanked her forward until she was pressed against his solid frame.
“You’re not leaving this house without my permission.” Erica whimpered, struggling to free herself, but Luke was too strong.
He easily dragged her back into the dimly lit room and shoved her to the floor.
With a gasp, she landed on her hands and knees.
The impact sent sharp pain through her legs, and tears welled in her eyes.
“Tonight, I’m taking you to the nightclub,” he announced coldly.
“You’ll serve the elite guests.
Please them well, and they’ll reward you handsomely.” Erica’s head snapped up, horror twisting her features.
“Luke, no!
Please, let me go!
I-I talked to my mom.
She’s transferring the money soon!
You’ll get everything you’re owed.” Luke’s expression darkened.
“You called your mother!” he growled.
“Give me the phone.” He lunged at her and searched her phone.
“No, stop-” Erica squirmed, desperately trying to hold onto her phone.
But Luke’s strength overpowered her, and with one forceful pull, he wrenched the device from her grasp.
“You don’t get to contact anyone.” He held up a warning finger.
“Do you understand?” Erica’s chest heaved as she reached for the phone, her voice breaking.
“Luke, give it back!” Luke stepped back, shoving the phone into his pocket.
“If you keep disobeying me, I’ll send you straight to a brothel.
So stop fighting, do as you are told.
Go to the nightclub, serve drinks, entertain the guests, and earn their ‘rewards.’ Once you’ve earned two billion dollars for me, you’re free to leave.” With those chilling words, he turned and strode out, slamming the door behind him.
