My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 319
Chapter 319: Dylan€™s care Chapter 319: Dylan€™s care Luke felt his hair rising on his back.
He had thought he was in control, that everything had been perfectly orchestrated.
But Alex had already discovered his plan to kill Nicholas.
Luke’s legs buckled beneath him as he stumbled onto the sofa.
He feared that Nicholas would take everything from him-his father’s favor, the family’s legacy.
That fear had festered, morphing into hatred so deep that he had schemed to eliminate Nicholas more than once.
When he heard Nicholas was having the transplant surgery, he thought it was his chance to eliminate him forever without raising doubts.
He was successful in it, but he hadn’t expected his plan to be exposed.
“You can’t stay here anymore,” Elijah said decisively.
“You have to leave immediately.” Luke’s head snapped up, his pulse hammering.
“Where are you sending me?” “Far away,” Elijah said, his tone devoid of warmth.
“I’ll handle things here.
When it’s safe, I’ll call you back.
Until then, don’t contact me.” He dialed a number and commanded, “Come in and take him away.” The doors creaked open, and two towering men in black suits strode in.
“Dad,” Luke panicked, sensing something odd.
“Are you imprisoning me?” Elijah didn’t respond.
He merely lifted a hand and flicked his fingers in silent command.
The two men seized Luke by his arms and dragged him out.
“Let go of me!” Luke snarled, jerking against their grip.
“I can walk on my own, damn it.” The men remained impassive, their hold like steel as they hauled him toward the door.
Luke thrashed, but their strength overpowered him.
“Leave me the hell alone,” Luke barked, twisting in their grasp, but they shoved him forward with unyielding force.
The door swung open, and before he could protest further, they forced him inside.
He muttered curses under his breath, adjusting his jacket.
The engine roared to life.
Luke clenched his fists, seething as the car sped away.
In the meantime, his phone rang.
“Hello?” His brows furrowed in frustration.
The response from the other end sent a jolt through his system.
“Erica escaped.

Someone took her away.” Luke’s blood boiled in rage.
“What do you mean she escaped?” Before he could demand more details, a firm hand snatched the phone from his grasp.
“Hey!” Luke barked, his face contorting.
“Give me my damn phone back!” But the man threw the phone outside the car.
Luke gasped, stunned.
“What the hell?
That was my phone!” His fury exploded.
“You can’t use the phone,” the man said coldly.
Luke’s nostrils flared.
“What?
Do you even know who I am?” “Sorry, sir.
We are only following the boss’s order.
It’s for your own safety.
Please cooperate.” Luke gritted his teeth.
His father’s orders.
His so-called safety.
It was all a damn prison disguised as protection.
For now, he needed to obey his father.
‘Once it’s over, I’ll deal with this old man myself.’ ~~~~~~~~~~ “I want to see Mom.” Erica’s voice trembled with urgency as she clutched Mr.
Blair’s hands.
Her desperation was evident in the way her eyes burned with unshed tears.
Mr.
Blair sighed, rubbing his temples.
“Not now.
We need to get out of here as soon as possible,” he said firmly.
“Meeting your mother is not a good idea.” Erica’s grip tightened.
“You got me out of that hell.
Can’t you take my mom out of jail?” She stared at him, searching for a shred of hope.
“She is the only family I have.
I can’t abandon her.
Please, help me.” Mr.
Blair’s face softened, but his expression remained conflicted.
“Your mother’s wish was for me to take you far away from here, somewhere Dylan can’t find you.
I’ll figure out a way to get Lydia out of jail, but now is not the right time.
Your safety comes first.” But Erica wasn’t willing to accept that answer.
She shook her head stubbornly.
“I can’t rest knowing she is suffering in there.
I won’t leave without her.” She lifted her chin defiantly.
“If you won’t help me, fine.
I’ll do it myself.” She opened the door, ready to jump out of the car.
“Wait!” His hand darted out to grab her wrist, pulling her back just in time.
Letting out a sigh of resignation, he relented, “Fine, I’ll help you.
But you have to listen to me.
No reckless moves.” A flicker of hope sparked in her eyes.
“Thank you,” she said with a small smile.
~~~~~~~~~ As time passed, the whispers surrounding Nicholas’s death gradually faded.
Though the doctor faced punishment for his crime, Luke remained a ghost-he vanished without a trace.
Meanwhile, the Baker family’s reputation had taken a devastating hit.
The scandal had sent the company’s stock plummeting to its lowest point in history.
Investors backed out, contracts were canceled, and the business was in shambles.
Elijah was buried in crisis management, trying to salvage what was left.
In stark contrast, life in the Brooks family had settled into a rhythm of joy and warmth.
Dylan showered Ava with care in every way possible.
Whether at home or work, he made sure she never went a moment without feeling his love.
“Madam, the driver has delivered the soup for you,” Ava’s secretary announced, a teasing glint in her eyes as she set the thermos on the desk.
Ava sighed, her gaze flickering between the thermos and the secretary’s barely concealed smile.
This had become a daily routine.
Dylan kept sending something.
Whether it was soup, salad, or health drinks, something always arrived.
And, of course, the entire office had taken notice, turning it into the latest gossip.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Ava pursed her lips.
She really needed to have a talk with Dylan about this.
“Thanks, I’ll have it later,” she muttered, returning her focus to the file in front of her.
The secretary, however, wasn’t so easily dismissed.
“The driver is still waiting outside,” she pointed out.
“Please finish it before it gets cold.” Without waiting for permission, she opened the thermos and pushed it toward Ava.
Ava raised her eyes at her yet again.
Dylan had undoubtedly instructed the driver to wait and report back.
Shaking her head, she closed the file with a resigned sigh.
“Alright, I’ll finish it.” She drank the soup quietly.
But she determined to speak with Dylan.
Once she had emptied the container, she handed it back to the secretary.
“Tell the driver I finished it.” The secretary grinned, nodding as she picked up the thermos.
“Understood, madam.” With that, she turned on her heel and exited the office.
Ava pouted, frustration bubbling inside her as she muttered, “Dylan, you can’t keep doing this.”
