My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 320
Chapter 320: Overwhelming attention Chapter 320: Overwhelming attention Ava grabbed her phone and dialed his number.
It barely rang twice before he picked up.
“Hello,” Dylan answered, his voice rich with warmth and unmistakable affection.
She didn’t bother with pleasantries.
“You sent the driver again,” she accused, her tone sharp.
“You already sent him with a fruit salad this morning and now with soup.” Dylan remained unfazed.
“You left early,” he reminded her calmly.
“You barely had breakfast.
So, I sent the fruit salad.
And now, it’s still an hour before lunch.
The baby must be hungry, and I thought soup would be a good choice.” There was a pause before he added with deliberate sweetness, “Did you like it?
I specifically asked Martha to make that for you.” “Dylan, I come to work to actually work, not to eat all day,” she hissed, lowering her voice in irritation.
“If I feel hungry, I can grab something from the canteen.” “No.” The playfulness in Dylan’s tone vanished.
“You are not allowed to eat anything from outside.” Then, after a quick glance at his wristwatch, he added, “It’s time for your medicine now.” Ava pinched the bridge of her nose, realizing just how easily she had forgotten about her medicine.
If Dylan hadn’t reminded her, she would have skipped it entirely.
A wave of warmth spread through her chest, her heart swelling with a mix of adoration and exasperation.
But there was no way she would admit that to him.
If she did, he might just show up at her office every day, personally overseeing her meals and medication.
“You better focus on your work,” she said bluntly, trying to sound unaffected.
“Don’t worry about me.” Knock-Knock€¦ Before she could say anything else, the door swung open, and her secretary walked in.
“Madam, it’s time to take your medicine,” the secretary announced, extending a strip of pills toward her.
Ava blinked in stunned silence before narrowing her eyes.
“You seem quite free these days,” she snarled, irritation lacing her tone.
The secretary offered a polite smile.
“Apart from my official duties, it’s also my responsibility to take care of you.
Please don’t be upset with me.
I’m only doing my job diligently.” She lowered her head.
What she didn’t say was that Dylan had personally instructed her to keep an eye on Ava-and had even given her a generous bonus to ensure she did.
How could she possibly defy his orders?
Before Ava could respond, Dylan’s voice drifted through the phone.

“Why are you scolding her?
She is being thoughtful.
In fact, I think you should give her a bonus.” “You€¦” “Take the medicine now,” he cut her off smoothly, leaving her no room to argue.
Ava shot her secretary a sharp glare.
With an aggravated sigh, she snatched the strip from her secretary.
She popped out a pill, placed it into her mouth, and washed it down with a sip of water.
With a dismissive wave of her hand, she signaled for her to leave.
The woman bowed her head slightly and exited the office quietly, shutting the door behind her.
The moment she was alone again, Ava turned her attention back to the phone.
“Dylan, this is too much,” she whined.
“You paid her to do all this, didn’t you?” “What are you talking about?
I didn’t do anything that,” he denied it.
“Don’t lie.
I know you.” Her tone was accusing.
He scratched his brow.
He had been caught.
“Alright, fine.
Yes, I paid her.” “Why?
You are so annoying,” she huffed.
“I didn’t have a choice,” he defended himself.
“I asked you to work from home and let me take care of you, but you insisted on going to the office.
And you promised me that you wouldn’t stop me from doing whatever I wanted, remember?” Ava blinked, suddenly recalling their conversation from almost a month ago.
Back then, she hadn’t thought much of it-certainly not that he would go this far, sending food and medicine to her office every single day.
While his attentiveness was touching, it was also overwhelming.
“I remember.
But don’t you think this is a little too much?” She lowered her tone to a whisper.
“The employees are gossiping about it.
They keep looking at me weirdly.
I don’t like it.” She pouted, hoping to sway him.
“Let them gossip,” he replied flatly.
“I won’t stop pampering my wife.” A satisfied smile tugged at his lips as he leaned back in his wheelchair, picturing her flushed cheeks and the adorable pout on her face.
Even through the phone, he could feel her frustration-and he loved every bit of it.
It was only at that moment that Dylan realized where he was-sitting in the middle of the conference hall with dozens of eyes fixed on him.
The presentation had come to a complete halt, all because he had been too caught up talking to Ava.
A wave of embarrassment crept up his neck, and his cheeks flushed slightly.
Clearing his throat, he quickly adjusted his tie, trying to regain his composure.
“I’ll send Justin to pick you up later.
Have lunch with me,” he said smoothly before ending the call.
He straightened his posture, masking his momentary lapse with an air of authority.
Tucking his phone away, he turned back to the room.
“Continue,” he commanded as if nothing had just happened.
~~~~~~~~ Ava came to the head office of the Ace Group during lunch break.
She stepped into the CEO’s office, the scent of cedarwood and leather surrounding her.
Before she could say a word, Dylan pulled her into his embrace, his strong arms wrapping around her tightly.
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply.
“I missed you,” he murmured against her skin.
The soft, floral fragrance of her perfume filled his senses, grounding him in the moment.
Ava melted into his hold, her fingers instinctively curling around his back.
“I missed you too.” With a satisfied hum, Dylan guided her to the plush sofa, keeping her hand firmly in his.
As they settled down, he lifted her hand to his lips, placing a tender kiss on her knuckles.
“Are you hungry?” Ava shot him a pointed look.
“Hungry?
I’m already stuffed!
Salad, juice, soup-you sent an entire meal plan to my office.
My secretary is more focused on feeding me than actually doing her job.” “Taking care of you is part of her job,” he countered.
Ava narrowed her eyes.
“She is my employee.
But you hijacked her.” Dylan chuckled.
“In the past, I failed you-I hurt you.
This is my way of making it up to you.
Let me do this.
Just enjoy it.” Her heart softened at his words.
She knew how much he regretted the pain he had caused her, and now he was doing everything in his power to prove his love.
But she still huffed in mock annoyance.
“You just want to turn me into a big fat cow.” “It doesn’t matter,” he said with a lazy smile, pulling her back into his arms.
“One day, I might become fat and bald.
My stomach might stick out, and I might lose my good looks.
We’ll both grow old-our skin will wrinkle, our eyesight will fade, and we will lose our teeth.” He kissed the side of her head.
“But my love for you will never change.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS Angelica2511 Your gift is the motivation for my creation.
