My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 325
Chapter 325: The dinner at Thomas€™s place Chapter 325: The dinner at Thomas€™s place Justin stared at Dylan, utterly baffled.
“You want Nicholas to handle Mr.
Blair!” “Tsk,” Dylan scowled at him, irritation flashing across his face. “Are you a dump?” Justin scratched the back of his head.
‘Did I say something wrong?’ he wondered.
Dylan clarified sharply, “I don’t need Nicholas to deal with Blair directly.
His job is to handle the development project in that area.” He picked up the folder, flipping through the incriminating photographs.
“As for Mr.
Blair,” he held up the photographs, “these pictures are more than enough to stir up a scandal.” Dylan tossed the photos onto the table.
“Upload these photos on every social media platform.
Spread the word that he is the true mastermind behind my parents’ deaths and that he used Lydia as his pawn to get what he wanted.” Leaning back in his wheelchair, Dylan intertwined his fingers, a cold smile playing on his lips.
“Let’s see if he is still eager to protect her once his reputation is in shambles.” Justin’s confusion morphed into understanding.
A knowing grin spread across his face.
“Consider it done, sir.
Just wait for tomorrow’s headlines.” Collecting the photographs, he left.
Dylan picked up his phone and quickly dialed Ava’s number.
The line connected after just a few rings.
“Hello, Dylan?
Are you coming?” Ava’s voice sounded bright and cheerful; her excitement evident.
“Yes, didn’t you see my message?” he asked, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“I did.
But I’m missing you,” she teased with a soft giggle.
“I just want to see you.” Her playful words made Dylan chuckle.
“Well, since you put it that way, I’ll be right there.
See you soon.” He ended the call and maneuvered his wheelchair out of the office.
“Justin, take me to Thomas’ place.” On the other end, Ava stood still for a moment, biting her lower lip as she pressed the phone gently against her chin.
Her heart swelled with happiness.
Finally, Dylan was going to have dinner with her father-a moment she had long hoped for.
“Is he coming?” Thomas asked, coming out of his room.
Ava couldn’t hide her excitement.
She nodded eagerly, her grin stretching from ear to ear.

“Yes.
He is on the way.” Several minutes later€¦ Dylan arrived at Thomas’s place.
The scent of roasted lamb and herbs filled the air.
The dining table was elegantly set with precision-crystal glasses catching the soft glow of the chandelier above.
Ava greeted Dylan, her face lighting up with a radiant smile as she knelt beside his wheelchair.
“You made it.” “I had to,” Dylan replied, reaching out to gently brush his thumb across her cheek.
His gaze lingered on her face.
“You look beautiful when you smile.” Ava giggled, entwining her fingers with his.
“I can’t help it.
I’m really happy today.
Papa has recovered fully, and you’re finally here for dinner-the first time since we got married.
It’s a special day for me.” Dylan’s smile faltered, guilt flickering in his eyes.
“I’m sorry.
I should’ve done this sooner.” Ava shook her head firmly.
“No apologies tonight.
There is no space for regret-only happiness.” His smile returned.
“As you wish,” he whispered.
“Ahem,” Thomas cleared his throat, snapping them both out of the moment.
They turned to see Thomas standing nearby, arms crossed, his expression unreadable.
Ava quickly let go of Dylan’s hand and stood up.
“Papa,” she walked over to link her arm through his.
“Dylan is here.” “I can see that,” Thomas responded, his sharp gaze settling on Dylan.
“Well, it seems you finally found time to have dinner with me.” Dylan lowered his gaze to his fingers.
“Papa,” Ava pouted, tugging at his arm.
“Don’t be hard on him.
He is already regretting it.” “I didn’t say anything.” Thomas shrugged.
She cast him a pleading look.
“The dinner is served.
Let’s eat.” Thomas went to the dining area.
Ava gently pushed Dylan’s wheelchair toward the dining table.
Dylan glanced at Thomas.
Sitting across from his father-in-law, he felt both the weight of expectation and the thrill of finally sharing this moment.
Beside Dylan, Ava radiated happiness.
Her smile never wavered as she glanced between the two most important men in her life.
This dinner wasn’t just a meal to her; it was the bridge she had long hoped to build between her husband and her father.
Dylan, however, couldn’t quite shake the nerves curling in his stomach.
Under the older man’s observant gaze, he felt every bit the outsider trying to prove himself.
He adjusted his grip on his fork as he worked to keep his composure.
Thomas took a slow sip of his wine, setting the glass down with deliberate ease.
“Ava tells me you’ve been busy dealing with the port project.” Dylan nodded, swallowing the bite of lamb he had barely tasted.
“Yes.
It’s been demanding, but worth it.” Ava’s smile widened as she glanced at her father.
“Papa, you should see how dedicated he is.
He hardly ever takes a break.” Thomas studied Dylan for a moment before giving a small nod.
“That’s good.
But don’t forget-family comes first.
Ava is pregnant now.” Dylan froze.
His shoulders tensed, and for a moment, all he could hear was the rush of blood in his ears.
Ava glanced at him, her smile softening into something more tender, more knowing.
She squeezed his hand under the table, grounding him in the moment.
“Dylan takes care of me,” she replied.
“He makes sure I eat well and never forget my medicine.
He is with me for every prenatal check-up.
He does everything a husband should do.” Dylan turned to her, gratitude softening the tension in his face.
“Ava means everything to me.
I’ll never neglect her.” Thomas watched them quietly.
He was satisfied to see the sincerity in Dylan’s eyes, but he kept his face stern.
He took another slow sip of wine before setting the glass down with a quiet clink.
“She is happy.
That’s what matters.” As the night wore on, the conversation flowed more easily.
Dylan found himself speaking more freely, and Thomas, while still reserved, seemed to listen with quiet respect.
Ava watched it all unfold, her heart swelling with happiness.
She had worried this dinner would be strained, filled with forced politeness and awkward silences.
But instead, she saw something growing-something promising.
