My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 329
Chapter 329: Lydia€™s Madness (Part €“ 1) Chapter 329: Lydia€™s Madness (Part €“ 1) Thomas didn’t flinch.
Instead, he lifted his chin, defiance gleaming in his eyes.
“You can’t threaten me.
I’m not afraid of you.
The time for your punishment has come.
You won’t escape this time.” Lydia sneered.
“Right now, you should be more concerned about yourself,” she taunted, her voice dripping with malice.
“You’re completely at my mercy.
And guess what?
Your daughter is on her way here.” Thomas froze.
The words hit him like a punch to the gut, knocking the breath from his lungs.
‘No.
Not Ava.’ Panic surged through him.
He thrashed against the ropes, ignoring the sharp burn as the rough fibers cut deeper into his wrists.
Desperation fueled his struggle-he had to break free, had to find a way to stop Ava from coming there.
Lydia watched his frantic attempts with cold amusement, satisfaction gleaming in her eyes.
“Scared?” she mocked.
“I have to say, your daughter is surprisingly naive.
She didn’t even hesitate.
She actually believes we’ll let you go once she hands over the money.” Thomas’s chest heaved, sweat beading on his forehead as he glared at her, fury and fear battling within him.
“But,” Lydia continued, her tone darkening as she pushed off the chair and sauntered toward him, “what she doesn’t know is that it’s all a trap.” She stopped just inches away, bending down until her face was level with his.
“There was never going to be an exchange.
Once she walks through that door, she’ll be just as helpless as you are.” “You won’t touch her,” he growled, teeth clenched as he struggled harder.
Lydia straightened, her expression hardening into something unforgiving.
“Watch me.” Thomas glared at her as he struggled against the ropes.
His entire body trembled with fury and desperation.
“Your problem is with me.
Why drag Ava into this?
She is innocent.
She has nothing to do with our past.” “I don’t care,” Lydia snapped, her eyes darkening with years of festering resentment.

“I don’t care if she is innocent or not.
The Lydia who used to love you died a long time ago.
You killed her.
You€¦” She jabbed a finger into his chest.
“You destroyed every ounce of love I had for you.
And now, all that’s left inside me is pure hatred.” Thomas clenched his fists tightly as he twisted and pulled, but it was useless.
The knots held firm.
“Ten years €“ For ten years, I loved you since I was a teenager.
I followed you around foolishly, wrote letters you never answered, and poured my heart out.
But you always ignored it.
You brushed off my feelings like they meant nothing.” Lydia’s eyes flashed with pain as she recalled the past.
“You never even acknowledged my love.
Instead, you pushed me into a loveless marriage while you lived your perfect life.” “You never acknowledge my love and pushed me into a loveless marriage.
But I didn’t stop loving you.
When your wife died, I thought€¦fate had given me a chance.
I swallowed my pride and begged you to marry me.
I was ready to sacrifice everything just to stand by your side.” Her face contorted in unrestrained rage.
“But you shoved me away again.
You tore my heart to shreds without a second thought.
If you had agreed to marry me back then, I would’ve raised your daughter like my own.
I would’ve loved her as fiercely as I love Erica.” Thomas twisted his mouth in disgust, his nostrils flaring.
“You are insane, Lydia.
Your mind is so twisted that it’s sickening.
How many times have I told you?
You were like a sister to me.” “But I never saw you as a brother!” she snapped, her fists trembling at her sides.
“I wanted to marry you.
I wanted to be your wife!” Thomas shrugged in despair.
“We’ve had this conversation before,” he muttered, exasperation dripping from every word.
“I explained everything to you years ago.
You just refused to listen.
What’s the point of saying all this again?” He sighed, softening his tone.
“But I’ll say it one last time.
Love isn’t something you can force.
Just because you love someone doesn’t mean they’re obligated to love you back.
That’s not how it works.
And it definitely doesn’t justify this sick obsession, this need for revenge.” Thomas sneered, his upper lip curling in contempt.
“Your so-called ‘love’ is cheap.
In fact, I doubt you even understand what love really is.
If you truly loved me, you’d never dream of hurting me or my family.
But that was never your goal.” The words hit Lydia like a slap, her composure unraveling in an instant.
But Thomas wasn’t done yet.
He delivered the final blow.
“You didn’t love me, Lydia.
You wanted to own me.
To control me.
To bend me to your will.
That’s not love-it’s sickness.” Lydia couldn’t control her composure.
“Shut up!” she screamed and raised her hand, striking him hard across the face.
Thomas’s head snapped to the side.
For a moment, he sat frozen.
Slowly, he touched his tongue to the inside of his cheek, the metallic taste of blood spreading across his mouth.
“How dare you to call my love cheap?” she spat.
“I was devoted to you, ready to give you everything-to sacrifice my pride, my dreams, my life-just to stand by your side.
And what did you do?” She took a step closer, her hand still trembling from the strike.
“You pushed me away.
Every single time I approached you, you dismissed me like I was nothing.
You humiliated me and discarded my feelings like trash.” Her voice cracked.
“Because of you, I had to marry a man, who was abusive and drunkard.
He treated me like dirt and gambled away everything he had.” He turned his head back toward Lydia, his eyes cold and unyielding.
There was no fear, no regret €“ only disgust.
Her eyes burned with bitterness and resentment as she recalled the past.
“If you had accepted me back then, I wouldn’t have suffered so much.
I suffered because of you.
Why shouldn’t I hate you?” Thomas couldn’t believe he was hearing this.
“You are insane,” he muttered.
“You’re actually blaming me for your suffering?
How is it my fault that your husband turned out to be an abusive drunk?
I had nothing to do with that.” But Lydia wasn’t listening.
She had long stopped hearing reason, consumed by the fire of her own twisted logic.
“It’s everything to do with you!” she shot back.
“If you had accepted me, none of this would’ve happened.
We could’ve had a perfect life-a happy family.
I wouldn’t have suffered.
My brother wouldn’t have died.
Everything fell apart because of your rejection.” Thomas blinked, stunned.
“Your brother?
You can’t seriously be blaming me for-” “You’re the reason I lost everything,” she cut him off.
“You are the culprit.
And now, I want you to lose everything, too.
I want you to feel the same pain-the helplessness, the heartbreak, the emptiness.
Only then will you understand what you’ve done to me.” She lunged at him and strangled him.
