My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back - Chapter 339
Chapter 339: What do you think about me?
Chapter 339: What do you think about me?
Before Ava could melt into the kiss, she quickly pressed her hands against his chest and pushed him back.
Breathless, she whispered urgently, “Nicholas and Myra are still in the hall.” “Let me chase them away first.” “Wait€¦” Before Ava could stop him, he was already out the door.
She blinked in surprise-then laughed, shaking her head.
Dylan approached the hall.
Nicholas and Myra were deep in conversation, likely discussing the script.
But Dylan barely registered their words.
He wasn’t interested.
Right now, all he cared about was getting rid of them so he could be alone with his wife.
“Ava is not feeling well,” he said.
“She wants to rest.” “Let her rest,” Nicholas said, rising to his feet.
“I’ll also leave.” “Wait a moment.
Drop Myra off on your way.” Nicholas froze.
He hadn’t considered that possibility.
His gaze flickered toward Myra, who was already watching him with those piercing, amused eyes that had been making him nervous all evening.
The thought of being alone with her made his stomach tighten.
Meanwhile, Myra’s reaction was the complete opposite.
Excitement sparked in her chest.
She wasn’t ready to part ways with Nicholas just yet.
This was the perfect opportunity to spend more time with him.
Her lips curled into a subtle smile, but before she could say anything, Nicholas rushed to offer an alternative.
“Why does she need to leave?
Let her stay here tonight.” “Myra can’t stay here,” Dylan said flatly.
“She needs to take care of Thomas.
Go and drop her off at home.
She must be tired.” Nicholas’s lips curled into a knowing smirk as he stepped closer to Dylan, lowering his voice just enough to ensure Myra wouldn’t overhear.
“I know exactly what you’re doing.
You’re trying to fix her with me.” Dylan didn’t waver.
He smirked, “You’re smart enough to recognize my intention.” “Why are you doing this?” Nicholas hissed.

His amusement faded slightly as his gaze turned more scrutinizing.
“Are you still jealous of me?” Nicholas had hit a nerve.
Dylan’s smirk faded, his expression stiffening.
He was indeed jealous, but he did that because he wanted Nicholas to find someone who genuinely cared about her.
In the past few months, he had observed Myra and found out that she was sweet and innocent.
Before making any move, Dylan had consulted Ava.
He wouldn’t have dared to push Myra toward Nicholas without Ava’s approval.
But his good intention had not been noticed.
Dylan let out a slow breath, shoving his hands into his pockets, his face slipping back into its usual cool indifference.
“You’re overthinking.
Why the hell would I be jealous of you when I know Ava is all mine?
You don’t stand a chance with her, Nicholas.
You never did.” Nicholas’s jaw tightened.
Dylan continued, unfazed, “I’m doing this for the business.” “Business, you say?” Nicholas chuckled mockingly.
“Are you fooling me now?” “Who could ever fool you?” Dylan countered.
“As a businessman, I have to think about my partner’s mental state.
Right now, we’re dealing with a very important project.
I can’t afford distractions.
And you,” he pointed subtly at Nicholas’s chest, “are distracted.” Nicholas stiffened.
Dylan leaned over to him slightly and whispered, “The look of disappointment and defeat on your face whenever you see me with Ava, it’s not lost on me.” Nicholas’s fists clenched at his sides, wishing to punch him.
“I don’t want you depressed,” Dylan continued with a smug look on his face.
“I want you happy.
Because only then can you focus on work.” He smirked slightly, then added in a whisper, “A joyful person delivers his fullest in work.
But a depressed one€¦” He grimaced, not completing his sentence.
Nicholas seethed.
“Arrogant asshole,” he muttered under his breath, the fire of indignation burning inside him.
“I’ve heard enough from you.
Now, can you leave?” Dylan lifted his hand and gestured lazily toward the door.
Nicholas threw him a stern glare.
“This is not over.” The hushed conversation between Nicholas and Dylan, filled with tension and sharp gazes, left Myra restless.
She could feel rising conflict between them because of her.
And she didn’t like it.
Clearing her throat, she spoke hesitantly, “Um€¦ it’s okay if Nicholas doesn’t want to give me a ride.
I can take a taxi.” Instantly, both men stopped their argument and turned to her.
“It’s late,” Dylan interjected.
“It’s not safe for you to travel alone in a cab.
Wait here-I’ll call my driver.” “There is no need,” Nicholas cut him off.
“I’ll drop her.” Nicholas and Myra left the mansion and headed to his car.
The moment she slipped into the passenger seat, Myra felt a tiny thrill of excitement.
She had wanted to spend more time with him.
But as she glanced sideways, she noticed his expression-serious, unreadable.
Her earlier excitement faltered.
‘Is he annoyed?
Does he not want to be stuck with me?’ Her fingers fidgeted slightly, and she finally mustered the courage to speak.
“Don’t feel obligated because of Dylan,” she said softly.
“I can go by myself.” Nicholas had just reached for his seatbelt, but at her words, he paused mid-action.
Slowly, he turned his head toward her.
His piercing gaze met hers, and for a split second, she held her breath.
He wasn’t irritated by her presence-not at all.
His frustration had nothing to do with her.
He exhaled.
“Dylan was right,” he admitted.
“It’s not safe traveling alone at this hour.” Then, after a brief pause, he added, “But don’t think I’m doing this just because Dylan said so.” His eyes softened slightly as he continued, “I’m doing this because I want to.” Something fluttered inside Myra’s chest.
Her initial hesitation melted into a bright grin, her joy impossible to hide.
Nicholas found himself staring a little longer than necessary.
Although he hadn’t admitted yet, he was drawn to her, to her smile, and to her sweet nature.
Realizing he was staring, he quickly looked away and reached for the ignition.
“Let’s go,” he murmured, starting the engine.
As the car rolled onto the quiet streets, a comfortable silence settled between them.
Myra bit her lip, gathering her thoughts before finally speaking.
“You haven’t answered my question yet.” “What question?” Nicholas briefly glanced at her before returning his focus to the road.
“What do you think about me?” she asked, tilting her head slightly.
“Can you consider making me your girlfriend?”
