Chapter 503: Going to Eryuentium – Part 2
“By the way, Athena, since our destination is your ancestor’s place, does that mean we’re heading to Eryuentium?” Leon asked curiously, rubbing his chin.
“Yes, we are. My ancestor resides in Eryuentium,” Athena replied calmly.
Leon’s eyes sparkled with excitement at her answer. “Eryuentium, huh? I can’t wait to see that legendary floating city!”
Eryuentium was a place shrouded in legend and myth.
From the various records he had studied in the libraries of the Holy Empire of Elysium and the Holy Orthodox, it was said to be the sacred land of dragons and the cradle of the world’s first dragon.
Of course, the truth behind those stories remained unconfirmed, but many still believed them.
Athena sighed softly and said, “Eryuentium is not the magnificent city you imagine, Leon.”
Leon’s excitement faltered, his brows furrowing in confusion. “What do you mean, Athena?”
Athena took a deep breath, falling silent for a moment before speaking. “Ever since the war between the Evil God and the united races, Eryuentium has lost its former glory. The Evil God launched a secret attack on the city while the allied forces were still in the preparation stage.”
“He destroyed half of Eryuentium and slaughtered the dragon ancestors. Only the black dragon ancestor—the sole remaining elder of our race—survived. But even he was gravely wounded. To slow the effects of his injuries, he entered a deep slumber, waiting for your arrival—the Fated One.”
Leon fell silent, shock evident on his face.
He had never imagined that something of this magnitude had occurred during the war between the Evil God and the alliance of races. This revelation was truly staggering.
More importantly, according to Athena, the Evil God had attacked Eryuentium alone and still managed to wipe out the dragon ancestors—a terrifying testament to his overwhelming power.
“How incredible… Is it the might of a deity?” Leon swallowed hard, forcing himself to calm his racing heart.
In truth, he had never fully grasped the extent of the Evil God’s power. But from the records and history shared by Miranda and Athena, it was clear—his strength was enough to shake the world to its very core.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Leon regained his composure and smiled. “It’s alright. Together, we’ll avenge your ancestors who were slain by the Evil God.”
His soothing words gradually eased the anger in Athena’s heart. “Thank you, Leon.”
“You’re welcome,” he replied gently before shifting the topic. “By the way, Athena, I’ve been wondering about something. You said the only living ancestor of your race is the black dragon ancestor. Does that mean he isn’t your direct ancestor?”
Athena fell silent for a moment, seemingly puzzled by his question. But after a brief pause, she quickly understood his meaning.
“No, he is my direct ancestor,” she replied casually. “After the deaths of the dragon ancestors, our race suffered a devastating setback. Chaos erupted among us, and countless dragons perished in the wars that followed.”
“At its worst, by the time the Evil God was sealed, nearly eighty percent of our population had been wiped out.”
“To stop our decline and prevent extinction, the black dragon ancestor took five dragon brides—one from each kind: red, white, blue, black, and gold. From those unions, our race slowly recovered and grew into what it is today.”
“That’s also why he’s known as the First Dragon of our race—because his actions saved us from extinction.”
Leon listened intently, unable to hide his admiration.
“I see…” He narrowed his eyes slightly and nodded in understanding.
Restoring the nearly extinct dragon race was nothing short of extraordinary!
As a fellow man, the Dragon Ancestor was undoubtedly worthy of admiration.
After all, what’s the use of having many women if one can’t father many children?
But then, Leon suddenly paused, reflecting on himself. He realized that, in a way, he was following a similar path.
“Ahem… I don’t think I can accomplish what the Dragon Ancestor did,” he muttered, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Having Charlotte, Iris, Fiona, and Stella in the palace alone was already enough to give him a headache. The thought of raising numerous children from Athena, Luna, and Arshley was downright terrifying.
Just imagining dozens of adorable little girls and energetic brats clinging to him, calling him “Daddy,” sent a shiver down his spine.
“Leon, are you alright? Why did you suddenly go quiet?” Athena’s concerned voice echoed in his mind, snapping him out of his thoughts.
“Ahem! It’s nothing, Athena. I was just thinking about something,” Leon replied nonchalantly.
Athena sensed something odd in his tone but chose not to press further.
Their conversation continued until, before they knew it, they had arrived in front of an enormous gate.
Even Athena’s massive dragon form seemed small compared to its sheer size.
*Roar!*
Athena let out a thunderous roar.
*Whoosh!*
The white gate trembled violently before slowly creaking open.
With a single powerful flap of her wings, Athena soared straight in.
“Wow! This is incredible! Is this Eryuentium?”
Leon’s eyes widened as the breathtaking scenery unfolded before him.
He had assumed Eryuentium was merely a city—but he was completely wrong.
Stretching for tens of kilometers, Eryuentium was surrounded by rivers, lakes, and rolling hills, all blending into a stunning, picturesque landscape.
At its center stood a magnificent ancient city, filled with towering structures, elegant houses, and grand buildings that exuded an air of timeless majesty.
In the very heart of the city, a colossal altar—spanning nearly a kilometer—stood adorned with five giant dragon statues, each radiating an aura of power and grandeur.
What truly set this place apart was its unique, ancient architectural style—unlike anything found elsewhere. Yet, despite its antiquity, its beauty rivaled that of even the most modern cities.
However, something was amiss.
The city was eerily silent, devoid of any sign of life.
Moreover, the outskirts bore the scars of devastation, as if a great battle had once ravaged the land.
As Leon stood mesmerized by Eryuentium’s haunting beauty, Athena’s soft, gentle voice pulled him from his thoughts.
“We’ve arrived.”
