Chapter 590: Visiting the Fairy Race
The territory of the Elven race is vast. Although located in its own dimension, it spans a quarter of the Forest of Eternal Silence.

Because of this, many elves guard the barrier’s border to prevent enemies or monsters from entering.

Moreover, the land is not only home to elves—it also houses the fairy race.

They are the most unique among all races. While the average height of humans, demons, or elves ranges from one to two meters, fairies are only about ten centimeters tall.

Despite their small size, they are far from weak. In fact, during the war against the Evil God, they were once among the strongest races.

“So, the fairy race lives on the southern side of this land, huh?”

Amid the grassy ground and beneath the shady trees that blocked out the sunlight, Leon and Elina walked side by side, chatting casually.

“Yup! They live in the south. It was the first Elf Queen who arranged it so they could feel more comfortable having their own space,” Elina replied with a sweet smile.

Leon blinked and gave a small nod, as if he understood.

Over the past week, he had spent much of his time reading books. One of them detailed the history of the fairy race and their relationship with the elves.

Before the war against the Evil God reached its peak, the fairies didn’t live within elven territory.

They originally inhabited a remote mountain range on the western side of the continent.

Their home was a beautiful area filled with blooming flowers, which became the heart of their civilization.

They had their own system of government, led by a queen and supported by several ministers.

Although their political structure differed from that of humans, demons, or elves, the core system was quite similar.

The main difference lay in their way of life. Instead of building cities or large structures, they lived in vast colonies, supporting one another in close-knit communities.

Unfortunately, when the war against the Evil God erupted, their homeland was destroyed as it became a major battlefield.

The fairy race suffered heavy casualties, and their population plummeted.

It’s important to note that their reproduction rate was extremely low. Even at their peak, their numbers never exceeded one million.

After the war, only around a hundred thousand remained.

That meant their population had dropped by ninety percent from the beginning of the war until the Evil God was finally sealed.

To prevent their extinction, the first Elf Queen—now known as the First Elder—invited them to live alongside the elves. The Fairy Queen eventually accepted the offer.

“By the way, I remember you made a contract with one of the fairies. Does she have a special power?” Leon asked with curiosity.

Fairies truly were extraordinary beings, capable of controlling natural elements such as wind, water, fire, and earth.

When working together, they could even trigger large-scale earthquakes.

That’s why Leon didn’t hesitate to consider them one of the strongest races.

However, the fairy Elina had summoned back then possessed a different kind of power—she could see the future, meaning she wasn’t part of the elemental group.

“M-mm! The fairy sister I formed a contract with has the ability to read the future,” Elina replied enthusiastically. “Because of my fortune-telling skill, she became interested in me and agreed to the contract.”

“But summoning her is difficult and consumes a lot of mana. So I rarely call her—only when it’s absolutely necessary, like that time I read your fortune… and the one of that beautiful red-haired woman you were with,” she added with a playful smile.

Leon wasn’t surprised by her explanation. The relationship between Elina and the fairy wasn’t that of master and servant—it was a partnership between equals.

Naturally, summoning her required an enormous amount of mana and energy.

They continued walking, chatting about the fairy race and exchanging stories.

Leon’s knowledge so far came only from books, so there was still much he didn’t know about the fairy race.

Thankfully, Elina was there—always patient and eager to explain, helping him deepen his understanding.

Without realizing it, they had wandered far from the Emerald Palace.

The shady trees had grown sparse, and the grass was now taller, reaching up to Leon’s calves.

Elina stopped and gazed ahead with a gentle smile on her lips.

“Here we are.”

Leon also stopped, his gaze following the direction she was facing.

“It’s beautiful…” he murmured, eyes widening in awe.

Before him stretched a seemingly endless field of flowers.

Roses, Edelweiss, Glowleaf Blooms, Moonflowers, and many more painted the landscape in vibrant color.

Even more enchanting, dozens of tiny fairies flitted through the air, each carrying droplets of honey juice in their hands.

They were tiny—no more than ten to fifteen centimeters tall—with hair, wings, and clothing in a dazzling array of colors: red, blue, white, brown, gray, black, and beyond.

The scene was so mesmerizing, so full of life and wonder, that Leon couldn’t tear his eyes away.

Noticing their presence, the fairies turned their heads in perfect unison—and then, almost instantly, warm, cheerful smiles lit up their tiny faces.

“Elina!” they cried in unison, their voices full of joy as they flew toward her.

“How have you been, Elina? Where did you go?”

“Wuuu! Elina, you’re finally back! Do you know how worried I was?”

“Elina! Elina! It’s really you!”

“Whoa! Elina’s alive! I thought you’d been eaten by those evil monsters!”

They swarmed around her, tears of happiness glimmering in the corners of their tiny eyes.

Watching the heartwarming scene, Elina felt a mix of helplessness and guilt.

Because of her contract with the divination fairy, the others treated her like a close friend.

Whenever she visited, they welcomed her with excitement, treating her like someone truly special.

It wasn’t surprising—the fairy race was known for their kind, generous hearts. They were pure, innocent, and deeply affectionate by nature.

And ever since the war against the Evil God ended, their peaceful lives had shaped them into gentle, sociable beings.

Elina quickly offered a warm smile and gave a small bow. “I’m sorry, everyone. I left the Forest of Eternal Silence to explore the outside world. Sophia should’ve told you, right?”

The fairies glanced at each other, then nodded slightly, their round eyes filled with innocence.

“She did tell us,” one of them said with a doubtful tone. “But… she also mentioned you might get eaten by a wolf monster someday.”

Elina: “(⊙ _ ⊙ )”

She was speechless. Of all things, why would Sophia say something so ridiculous? Eaten by a wolf? Hah! With the Fated One at her side, a wolf was nothing more than a minor pest that could be taken down in a single strike.

Before she could respond, another fairy fluttered closer with a curious expression.

“By the way, Elina, who’s this handsome man? And why does his aura… not feel elven?”
