Chapter 597: Fairy Race Loyalty Oath
Leon’s eyebrows rose slightly at the sound of the voice.
“Aurora called for me?”
He glanced at the clock—it was already ten at night—and wondered what she wanted at this hour.
Still, he didn’t dwell on it. If Aurora had called him, it must be something important.
Without further thought, he got up from the bed, grabbed his mantle, and headed for the door.
As he turned the knob, he found Syra waiting outside in a light green dress.
She looked startled to see him appear so suddenly but quickly regained her composure.
“I apologize for disturbing your rest, Fated One,” Syra said, looking down with an embarrassed expression.
If not for the Fairy Queen’s orders, she wouldn’t have dared to bother Leon this late.
After all, it was rude—and she feared it might make him dislike her.
Leon waved a hand casually. “It’s fine. Come on, take me to Aurora.”
“Okay,” Syra replied, nodding slowly as she lifted her head.
And with that, under Syra’s guidance, Leon made his way to the Fairy Queen’s chamber.

Inside the room, Aurora sat quietly on the bed. Though her condition had improved, she still didn’t dare move as freely as she did when fully recovered.
If she pushed herself, there was a real risk her body would suffer—and that could be disastrous.
Just then, footsteps echoed outside the door, followed by a soft knock.
“Your Majesty, I’ve brought the Fated One. May we come in?”
Aurora looked toward the door and replied, “Come in.”
A moment later, the door opened slowly, revealing Leon and Syra as they stepped inside.
“Good evening, Your Majesty,” Syra said respectfully.
“Good evening, Syra,” Aurora responded gently.
Her eyes then shifted to Leon as he greeted her in turn.
“Good evening, Leon. Sorry for calling you at this hour. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Of course not,” Leon said with a casual shake of his head. “I figured it must be something important. I understand.”
Aurora let out a quiet sigh of relief. She had worried that Leon might be upset by the sudden summons.
But there wasn’t much time left. Leon would be departing tomorrow, and the chance to meet again was uncertain.
After all, Aurora knew Zelda had likely made preparations to purify the World Tree from the Evil God’s corruption—and Leon’s help would be essential in that process.
Aurora then turned to Syra and said, “You can return to your room now. And thank you—sorry for disturbing your rest.”
Syra smiled gently. “It’s alright, Your Majesty. Serving you is my duty.”

She bowed politely to Aurora, gave Leon a small nod of farewell, and then quietly left the room—leaving the two alone.
“So, what did you want to talk about, Aurora?” Leon asked curiously.
Aurora didn’t answer right away. Instead, she slowly rose from the bed and stood.
She was tall—about shoulder height to Leon. Her figure was slender, yet full in the chest and hips.
Her red hair, which reminded Leon of Elisa’s, was styled into a long bun, adorned with a leaf-shaped ribbon on the right side of her head.
Her red eyes radiated a mature, alluring charm.
Leon had to admit—this woman was undeniably beautiful.
Perhaps not quite on the level of Zelda, Liliana, Athena, Arshley, or Luna, but still, Aurora was easily among the most captivating women he’d ever met.
“It’s rude to talk while standing,” Aurora said with a light giggle.
Leon blinked, then let out a small laugh. “You’re right.”
Aurora led him to a sofa in the center of the room.
Unlike ordinary furniture, this one was crafted from woven leaves, blossoms, and soft cotton—creating a look that was both unique and enchanting.
It was Leon’s first time seeing anything like it.
As expected of the fairy race, it was absolutely marvelous!
The moment he sat down, a soft, cool comfort wrapped around him, as if he were sinking into the familiar warmth of his own bed.
Meanwhile, Aurora prepared tea for the two of them.
Leon wasn’t sure if the tradition of serving tea or coffee during conversations was universal, but it always seemed to happen—almost every time a serious talk began, one of the two would be offered.
Still, he didn’t mind. Sharing a warm drink often helped soothe the mind and steady emotions that might otherwise flare up unexpectedly.
A few moments later, Aurora returned with two cups of tea and set them gently on the table.
Leon glanced at the cups and immediately noticed their uniqueness. Instead of glass or clay, they were beautifully crafted from delicately carved wooden twigs and Light Moonflower petals.
He took a sip—and sure enough, a distinct floral aroma filled his senses.
The tea was fresh and light, with just the right hint of sweetness from the flower and honey nectar, creating a perfectly balanced flavor.
After enjoying a few more sips, Leon placed his cup back on the table and turned his gaze toward Aurora, who sat across from him.
“So, what do you need from me, Aurora? Is this about the fairy race?”
The question caught Aurora off guard. She stared at Leon in surprise.
“How did you know?”
Leon offered a small smile. “It wasn’t hard to guess. You’re a Queen—your greatest concern would naturally be your people. Right?”
Aurora fell silent for a moment, then let out a soft chuckle. “You’re right.”
She picked up her cup and took a sip of tea before continuing, “Yes, I did call you because of that. You probably already know, but I’ll say it again—our race is quite unique compared to the others.”
“We may not have the large, powerful bodies of humans, demons, dragons, or elves. But our strength lies in our deep connection to nature, and in that, we believe we can stand on equal ground with any race.”
She paused, letting out a soft sigh before adding, “However, we’re not as advanced as the others. We lack the intelligence—or perhaps the knowledge—to build great houses or towering structures. To be honest, it’s something that has always weighed heavily on my heart… and on the hearts of the other fairies as well.”
Having said that, she lowered her head, the nervousness on her face plain to see.
Leon took a moment to process her words and quickly grasped the meaning behind them.
“Huh…” He let out a soft sigh. “I understand what you’re trying to say, Aurora. But one thing’s certain—you don’t need to worry about that.”
“The fairy race stood alongside the others during the great war seven thousand years ago. That alone makes you one of the heroes who helped save this world from destruction.”
He took a sip of tea, his expression gradually growing serious.
“Sure, your people may have their flaws. But I don’t care about that. Every race has its own strengths, weaknesses, and unique qualities. What matters to me is loyalty. So long as you stay true to me, I will do the same for you. That’s all that matters.”
His words were like a light in the darkness. Aurora’s body trembled slightly as she stood, then lowered herself onto one knee and covered her hands in solemn devotion.
“I, and the entire fairy race, pledge our loyalty to you, Fated One!”
At the sight, Leon was slightly startled and looked intently at Aurora.
“Are you serious, Aurora? Have you really thought this through?” he asked, his tone heavy.
Though there had been no formal ceremony or symbolic gesture of submission, Aurora’s actions were essentially a recognition of him and his status as the Fated One foretold in the prophecy.
It signified that the fairy race would not betray him—they had entrusted their future entirely to him.
Given that they had only just met, it was natural to assume there might be lingering hesitation, perhaps a reluctance to fully submit.
The same would likely happen with the other races when he eventually entered their lands.
“I mean it, Fated One,” Aurora replied with a firm nod.
She avoided using Leon’s name—a deliberate sign of her sincerity and resolve.
Leon fell silent for a moment, then let out a soft sigh. He smiled, stood slowly, and stepped closer to her.
“I accept your sincere loyalty, Aurora. Now, please stand—it’s not right for someone like you to kneel,” Leon said solemnly as he reached out and helped her up.
Aurora was taken aback. It was the first time anyone had ever asked another to rise from a kneeling position.
As the queen of the fairies, she was used to receiving such gestures of reverence. Even when her subordinates knelt before her, she had never once offered a hand to lift them—because that was the respect her position demanded.
But now, Leon was helping her up. His gesture was both confusing and admirable.
“This man… he truly deserves the title of the Fated One,” she thought with growing excitement.
Though they had only just met, Aurora could already sense that there was something truly different—and special—about him.
And her instincts were right—Leon was indeed a unique individual.
The fairy race’s oath of loyalty to him wasn’t a meaningless act—it was the right decision.
With a soft smile, she accepted his hand, and Leon gently pulled her to her feet.
“It’s a pleasure to be working with you, Aurora—or should I say, Your Majesty?” Leon said with a quiet chuckle.
Aurora let out a light laugh and replied, “Thank you, Fated One…”
