Chapter 641: The Emergence of the First Elder
“Leon!”

A worried voice called out from behind, making Leon flinch slightly.

He quickly sat up and turned toward the source of the voice—Zelda was running toward him, her face full of concern.

“Zelda?” Leon looked surprised, but then smiled. “You’re okay, right? Did Guren hurt you?”

Zelda stopped beside him, breathless. When she saw that Leon was unharmed, she let out a relieved sigh.

“I’m fine,” she said softly, sitting down next to him. “What about you? You weren’t hurt by the Evil God’s consciousness, were you?”

“Relax, I’m fine.” Leon chuckled, patting his chest. Then he pointed at the enormous black dome in front of them. “Look at that. That pile of ash is what’s left of the Evil God’s consciousness. I defeated him.”

Zelda looked ahead—and sure enough, there was a fifteen-centimeter pile of dust.

No doubt, that was what remained of the Evil God’s consciousness Leon had mentioned.

“You actually defeated him?” Zelda’s eyes widened. She covered her mouth, shocked, then looked back at Leon with awe. “How did you do it?”

“I purified him—with Miranda’s help,” Leon replied calmly, then began explaining everything to her.

As she listened, Zelda’s admiration for Leon only grew. A long sigh escaped her lips.

“You’re amazing, Leon,” she said, her eyes shining with gratitude and admiration.

Leon smiled, but then a sharp pain shot through his right eye. He winced quietly.

“Leon!?” Zelda panicked and quickly caught him as he stumbled. “What happened?”

“I’m fine,” Leon said with a wince, trying to stay composed as he slowly shook his head.

Seeing his stubbornness, Zelda’s frustration flared. Without a word, she gently forced him to lie down, resting his head on her lap.

“Zelda? What are you doing?” Leon was startled and tried to sit up, but Zelda held him down and pressed his head firmly against her thighs.

“Don’t move,” she commanded coldly, her gaze sharp. Leon fell silent, unable to argue.

Ignoring his surprise, Zelda placed her hand over the bandage on his right eye and began to chant a healing spell.

A soft green light glowed from her palm, and gradually, the tension in Leon’s body began to ease.

“Does it still hurt?” she asked, her tone now gentler.

Leon glanced at her worried expression with his left eye and managed a faint smile.

“It’s better. Thank you, Zelda,” he replied softly.

“Good…” Zelda smiled back, but she didn’t stop casting her healing spell.

She kept it going, afraid the pain would return the moment she stopped.

“By the way, what exactly happened to your right eye?” she asked, her brows furrowed in concern.

Leon closed his left eye and replied, “I used a power I shouldn’t have… not yet, at least.”

At first, he thought the side effects of using the Eyes of Chaos would be manageable. But he was wrong.

The pain that followed was far more intense than he expected—like an invisible hand was constantly pressing down on his right eye.

Thankfully, Zelda’s healing magic eased the pain, allowing his body to finally relax a little.

Zelda pursed her lips, a gloomy look on her face. “Next time, be careful. Don’t push yourself like that. You’ll only end up hurting yourself… and making me sad.”

Her last words sounded vague, but somehow, Leon understood them perfectly.

He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he simply nodded. “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again.”

Zelda smiled, satisfied with his response.

A few moments later, the pain in Leon’s right eye finally subsided.

He rose to his feet and stretched his body, loosening the stiffness that had set in.

“By the way, did you manage to kill Guren?”

Zelda gave an awkward smile and shook her head. “Sorry, Leon. I couldn’t. He was incredibly strong. We were evenly matched at first, but over time, I started gaining the upper hand and pushed him back. Unfortunately…”

She let out a small sigh. “He’s too cunning. He always has tricks up his sleeve. Out of nowhere, he slipped away and escaped. I tried to chase him, but… I lost him.”

Leon’s expression stayed calm and steady, as if it didn’t bother him whether Guren had been killed or not.

“It’s okay. Don’t blame yourself,” he said gently, reaching out his hand to her. “You fought well and helped keep him busy. That’s more than enough.”

His words gradually eased the guilt weighing on Zelda’s heart.

She looked up at Leon’s warm smile, her heartbeat quickening.

Her cheeks flushed as a memory flashed in her mind—what she had done back at the sacred altar.

However, she quickly pushed the thought aside, took Leon’s hand, and stood up.

Leon didn’t notice the shift in her emotions—his gaze was fixed on the white sand around them.

“Is your Elven army okay? How many casualties?” he asked grimly.

The power unleashed by the Evil God’s consciousness had been overwhelming.

The once-beautiful Forest of Eternal Silence had been reduced to ruins in mere minutes.

Fortunately, during the battle, the creature had underestimated him and lacked the tactical awareness Leon possessed.

Otherwise, trapping and defeating the Evil God’s consciousness would have been far more difficult.

Zelda’s expression darkened as she replied, “I’m not sure yet. The three elders, the fairies, and the soldiers who stayed behind are helping evacuate the wounded. I just hope enough of them made it out alive… Our Elven race can’t bear another heavy loss.”

Leon said nothing—he only nodded slowly.

Just as they turned to leave, something unexpected happened.

The clear sky abruptly darkened. Thick black clouds gathered from every direction, swirling into a massive vortex.

Leon froze, his body tense as he looked up.

“What’s going on? Is this… another enemy attack?” he asked cautiously.

Without hesitation, Leon extended his left hand to the side. The Holy Sword of Zenith materialized in a flash of light.

Beside him, Zelda immediately assumed a battle stance, her eyes fixed on the darkening sky above.

“Hahaha! Leon Kruger, did you really think you could kill me that easily? That was nothing but wishful thinking!”

The mocking laughter echoed from all directions, chilling the air.

Leon’s eyes widened in shock. “The Evil God!? How is that possible? I thought I killed him!”

He quickly shut his eyes and called out with urgency, “Miranda, what’s going on?”

Miranda paused for a moment, then spoke with a tone heavy with guilt, “I’m sorry, Master. The Evil God’s consciousness is far more cunning than we realized. It seems he left behind remnants of his life force before being sealed in the dome, which allowed him to come back.”

Leon’s face turned pale, but he didn’t blame Miranda. This was his mistake—being careless and letting his guard down.

“You don’t need to apologize,” he said softly with a sigh. “Right now, we need to figure out how to stop him.”

Given his current state, Leon wasn’t sure he could fight again. His body was still weakened from the massive purification earlier.

And on top of that, his right eye continued to throb—an injury that would surely become a major hindrance.

Just as Leon was lost in thought, a brilliant green light suddenly shot past them at incredible speed.

It pierced through the black clouds and obliterated the newly formed body of the Evil God’s consciousness.

Leon and Zelda froze in shock. They turned around—and saw a breathtakingly beautiful elf floating in the sky.

A shimmering silver bow rested in her hand, and her long silver hair danced gracefully in the wind.

Leon didn’t recognize her, yet there was something strangely familiar about her presence. Meanwhile, Zelda’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“First Elder!?”
