Chapter 645: Three Days of Unconsciousness
Leon stared at his reflection in the mirror, disbelief written across his face.

Because of his lack of practice, he still couldn’t fully activate the Eyes of Chaos.

Yet now, both of his eyes had truly awakened as the Eyes of Chaos.

How was that possible?

But Leon quickly set his confusion aside. Right now, the most important thing was finding a way out of this place.

He turned to his younger self, took a deep breath to steady himself, and asked, “How do I get back?”

His younger self smiled. “That’s easy—just control the Eyes of Chaos, like you once did.”

Leon understood. He slowly closed his eyes.

*Buzz!*

His body began to emit a faint black glow, which gradually intensified.

As he opened his eyes again, his figure started to turn transparent.

Just before he vanished completely, Leon looked back at his younger self.

His gaze grew complicated as he asked, “By the way… does that woman really love you?”

He was referring to his mother.

Although the question was addressed to his younger self, it was really meant for himself.

Upon hearing it, a fleeting trace of loneliness crossed his younger self’s face.

“Mother…” he muttered, gazing out the window where a gentle breeze stirred the air. “Of course she loved me. But her heart was broken by the relentless hardships she endured. In the end, she lost herself… and became the version you’ve known for several years—the real me.”

Leon fell silent, a sad smile slowly forming on his lips.

His gaze fell to the floor as he said, “This is all my fault. If I hadn’t run into that clown back then… None of this would have happened.”

But suddenly—

“No! It’s not your fault!” His younger self shouted, catching Leon off guard.

Leon turned to see that the sadness had been replaced by a serious, determined expression.

“It’s not your fault, Leon Kruger. All of this… was their doing.”

“Theirs?” Leon was about to ask, but before he could, his body shattered into fragments of light that scattered into the sky and vanished.

Everything—the room, his younger self—faded away. Yet, in the final moment, a mocking smile appeared on the younger Leon’s lips as he looked up.

“You gods… so cruel. But it doesn’t matter. When he rises stronger, prepare yourselves—wash your necks well…”

…

“Ughh…” Leon groaned softly, his heavy eyelids slowly fluttering open.

His vision was blurry at first, then gradually came into focus. The first thing he saw was the ceiling of a familiar place—his room in the Emerald Palace.

“My room?” Leon murmured, a flicker of surprise in his voice.

As he tried to move, he felt someone tightly holding his right hand.

When he turned his head, his eyes widened—Zelda was there, fast asleep in a chair.

Her head rested on the edge of the bed, both hands gripping Leon’s arm as if afraid to let go.

“Zelda…” Leon whispered softly.

He hadn’t expected her to fall asleep beside him like this.

Seeing her so peacefully asleep, it was clear she had been waiting for him to wake for a long time.

Leon felt a comforting warmth fill his chest, and a soft smile curved his lips.

Gently, he slipped his hand free and rested against the headboard.

“Huh…” he exhaled softly.

His hand reached up to his right eye, now covered with a fresh bandage.

His chest was also wrapped in bandages, though he didn’t feel any significant pain.

“How long have I been unconscious?” Curiosity stirred silently in his mind.

Recalling the long dream, Leon guessed he had been unconscious for six or seven hours, though he wasn’t certain.

Time in the dream world felt endless, but in reality, it might have been only a few hours… or maybe even a few days.

Still lost in confusion, he noticed Zelda’s body shift slowly.

A few seconds later, she woke up and straightened in her chair.

“Hooaam…” she yawned lazily, covering her mouth with her left hand.

But when she opened her eyes, she saw Leon sitting up, watching her with an amused smile.

Instantly, her body stiffened.

“Leon? You’re… awake?” She asked shyly.

Her cheeks flushed a deep red, like a ripe apple, and a faint white mist seemed to rise from her head.

Leon chuckled softly at her embarrassment but had no intention of teasing her.

If he did, he knew Zelda would only grow more flustered—and maybe even a little mad.

“I just woke up,” he said honestly. “By the way, how did you manage to fall asleep sitting like that? Have you been watching over me since I passed out? And… how long have I been unconscious?”

Noticing Leon steer the conversation away from her embarrassment, Zelda relaxed.

Her gentle smile returned as she said, “You’ve been unconscious for three full days. The reason I slept beside you is because I’ve been taking care of you all this time.”

“Three days?” Leon blinked in surprise.

He had expected to be unconscious for six hours or maybe a day, but three days—that was far longer than he had imagined.

“Yes, three days,” Zelda said softly. “While you were unconscious, your face was pale and your body showed signs of strain. The First Elder said it was likely caused by using the Eyes of Chaos. She also warned you not to use them again… unless you can fully control their power.”

Leon fell quiet, a dazed look on his face.

He had assumed the side effects of the Eyes of Chaos would be mild, but this was far worse than he imagined.

Three full days without consciousness wasn’t just serious—it was dangerous.

Fortunately, he was near Elven territory, accompanied by Zelda and the First Elder.

If he had collapsed in the wilderness or some unfamiliar place, he might not have woken up in this room but in the afterlife.

Leon let out a deep sigh, then met Zelda’s eyes with a small, grateful smile.

“You’re right. Don’t worry—I won’t use it again… unless it’s a real emergency.”

Zelda nodded in approval, then stood up and picked up a tray of food from the nightstand.

“By the way, you haven’t eaten anything since you passed out. I’ve been using magic to keep your body nourished. But now, it’s time to eat.”

She set the tray on the bed and picked up a plate filled with potatoes, meat, and vegetables.

Without hesitation, Zelda cut a piece of meat, stabbed it with a fork, and held it up to Leon’s mouth.

“Um… I can feed myself, Zelda,” Leon said awkwardly, scratching his cheek.

But Zelda frowned and quickly refused. “No, no, no. Let me feed you.”

Seeing how determined she was, Leon knew there was no point in arguing.

He sighed and opened his mouth, accepting the bite.

After he chewed, Zelda asked with hopeful eyes, “Is it good?”

Leon nodded slightly, a gentle smile on his lips. “Delicious.”

“Good!” Zelda beamed, clearly pleased.

She continued feeding him, one bite after another, caring for him like a devoted mother tending to a small child.
