Chapter 381- God’s Gate (Part 18)
*BANG*
“Ugh!!!”
Arthur’s body slammed into the ground with a loud thud, knocking the breath out of his lungs. A large cloud of dust and debris formed around him due to the impact. His eyes widened as he gasped for breath.
At the same time, the monsters lunged on him again, not sparing a moment to try and kill him. Their bloodlust was at a whole different level, and the boy could feel it quite well. The more he killed off them, the more the others grew more hostile and aggressive, attacking him in larger numbers than he could handle.
Immediately, the pressure increased several-fold on Arthur as the attacks became harder and harder to dodge. His Exo-Burst skill became the sole thing working non-stop for him. He knew that if he even stopped for a moment, he would be dead. Using every ounce of speed he had, he kept dashing in every direction, using his instincts to dodge the attacks.
However, even then, there was a certain limit Arthur couldn’t exceed, and it became clear that the limit had been broken a while ago.
“Shit!!!” The boy looked left and right before he grabbed his sword. “Mortal Slash!!” From that position, Arthur channeled the mana into his blade as a red, thick aura formed around his sword.
Slashing with it, a large blade slash flew up. The massive arc screeched as it flew through the air, hitting all the monsters in its path and sending them flying everywhere around him. After that, the boy jumped on his feet and dashed away.
‘I need to create some space, or I will die! There are too ma-‘
*BANG*
“UGH!!!”
It didn’t take a split second for the rest of the Human Chimeras to find him and chase him. Each hit felt like a train slamming into Arthur’s body. Large, bloody bruises formed on his skin, and his muscles and bones felt extremely painful when he moved around.
The boy had suffered immense damage, and the battle was far from over. On top of that, with the immense usage of all his skills, Arthur’s mana was draining extremely quickly. His immense mana pool was vast enough to sustain him in battle for hours and hours, but when his usage was that extreme, that time was cut short.
‘I can’t kill them all, they keep spawning out of nowhere! I have killed dozens already!’ Spitting out a mouthful of blood mixed with saliva, Arthur looked left and right while running as fast as he could. He was completely surrounded by the enemy.
The escape routes were almost nonexistent, and he was unable to even find a way to break their formation. Each attack was very coordinated and intentional, making sure to put him in the toughest position possible.
Even with his immense ability to find the perfect position each time, their big numbers made it impossible to execute each move without sustaining some sort of damage. The hits accumulated on his body, exhausting him further.
‘Killing them the normal way would be impossible… I’m going to di-‘
“EEEEEEER!!!!”
Like flies, Arthur was assaulted again. His expression paled even more as he formed a large ice wall around him in a split second.
*BANG*
The ice shattered instantly upon impact, sending sharp shards everywhere. Arthur took that opportunity to run for his life, slaying three monsters on his way. He wanted to cut the numbers down as much as possible while figuring out an idea.
‘If I’m going to kill them all, then it must happen in one single attack. That’s clearly impossible. If I don’t get rid of them all instantly, they would be able to disperse in time and avoid my hit.’ He analyzed the situation with his eyes, taking in every single detail around him. His brain was slowly forming an image of the entire scene in great detail.
Arthur wasn’t simply thinking of a solution, he was drawing the entire map of his movement and the pattern of these monsters in his head to know what to do mid-fight. He constantly moved, dodged, ducked, and attacked.
Every instance, he would kill one or two, and then get hit, thrown out of balance and almost killed by another hit.
His arms and legs were damaged gruesomly. His ribs suffered several fractures, and one of his fingers was bent out of shape. However, none of that mattered when everything was on the line; adrenaline was pushing him forward like it had never before.
*BOOOOOOM* *BOOOOOM*
A series of explosions followed Arthur wherever he went, the battle had left large dents in the soil and marks of ice and blood everywhere.
“Hah… Hah… Hah… Don’t you bastards get tir-”

“AAGH!! Let me speak, goddamit!!” Rolling on the ground several times, Arthur landed on his feet. His eyes looked extremely exhausted and weak and his feet were barely keeping him standing. A trail of blood had formed on the side of his face, going down from the top of his head to his chin.
Touching the blood, he held his breath for a moment. ‘That’s a concussion, probably.’
Meanwhile, the monsters rushed toward him as aggressively as ever, taking that opportunity of him standing still.
Arthur shook his head and looked behind him. A little far away, he could see flashes of light from the other battle ensuing between the people and the monsters. The nosies coming from there worried him greatly, but he couldn’t have the time to even think about that.
‘Germa will figure something out, I must keep all these bastards as far away from them as possible!’
“I’m here, you stinky fools! Come and get me!” He yelled as he clapped his hands. “Don’t you want to kill me?”
His noises immediately diverted the monsters’ attention back to him, not letting them realize his plan. He knew that any mistake could lead to a disaster. But, even then, Arthur’s problem remained there.
He was one against many.
“I need to run…”
“EEEER!!”
“I need to run!!”
Turning around, Arthur dashed at full speed right before they could catch him again. He ran in the other direction from where the group was.
‘Think, Arthur! What could I do now?! There must be a way to kill them all or at least get their numbers extremely low!’ He mused as he looked behind him. ‘They’re extremely aggressive and very persistent. They don’t even seem like they have the option of stopping or running away.’
Earlier, these same monsters showed a certain level of fear when fighting, which indicated that they cared for their own lives to a certain extent. Now, for some reason, all of that fear was gone, and they became suicidal, battle-crazed abominations with no regard for their lives.
That made the battles way harder as it meant these monsters wouldn’t hold back in the slightest.
‘Whatever it is they’re protecting, they’re ready to put their lives on the line to protect it!’ He clenched his teeth tightly.
As Arthur ran, his eyes opened up to the path ahead. The monsters were in tow, closing the distance rapidly. With his speed considerably slowing down due to exhaustion and many other factors, Arthur found himself completely overwhelmed.
However, at that very moment, and while he was running, he suddenly saw something that made his eyes flash with a weird glint.
‘Wait! That could actually work!’ He almost yelled loudly. But, he held off as he tried to form an idea around this revelation.
‘It could actually work! It sounds really reckless, but I can see it working! It’s my best chance anyway since I can’t come up with any other safer ideas!’
Without wasting any time, he put the plan in motion as he changed the direction where he was running. From running straight forward, he started running in zigzags, left and right, as if he was trying to confuse the monsters.
But none of them suspected the idea. Instead, he was able to easily lead them wherever he went.
‘It seems I have made them even more hell bent on killing me. Great! Keep following me like that! We’re almost there!’ He smiled faintly as he rushed forward. He was running completely on adrenaline at that point, as his body had already been brutally destroyed.
“EEEEEERRRR!!!”
The monsters closed the distance and lunged on Arthur, who quickly formed an ice barrier behind him. He knew it wouldn’t stop anything, but he wanted to buy as much time as possible.
‘Just a little more!’
The time he had was a few seconds at most. He didn’t know whether that was enough or not.
‘Please! I can almost feel it!’ He exhaled.
“EEEER!!!”
Behind him, the Human Chimeras launched themselves in the air, attacking him from every angle.
“Please!!”
At that very moment and without thinking twice, Arthur leaped in the air. All he could feel from that moment on was… nothing.
