Chapter 1291: The Hunt Has Begun
Blackjack had run nearly around the entire Garden as he scouted the area. He didn’t think much of it at the time, but if there was an Ironfang inside, then there was no doubt they would have been able to spot him.

The thing was, the vampires had a sensitive nose to Werewolves as well. It was always a question between the two which one had a better nose.

It was theorized that when it came to blood, Vampires could track things from further and afar, but they might not be able to tell the difference between the smells as carefully as others.

Whereas Werewolves, they could differentiate between particular smells, and there was one class that had a better smell compared to any other, the Apex Hunter class.

It was only now, when they were close to being upon them, that Blackjack had noticed their presence.

He jumped back to enter the circle where the others were and looked up. Joy had quickly gotten in front of Cooper while the rest drew their weapons.

“Up high…it’s coming from above!” Blackjack said.

No one questioned how he would know that was the case, only that it was part of his talent as a five-star hunter, and they could tell it was true as they saw a scruffy man standing up high on a branch.

Now they could see their target, now they could see the Ironfang in front of them. His clothes were in tatters, ripped all over. It revealed most of his bare skin.

There were only boots, clothes around his waist, and part of his neck. His beard was scruffy, and his hair a wild mess, while his eyes almost looked dead as he looked down on them. There was one more thing that was notable on his body, and that was the large bow that was attached to his back.

‘Crap!’ was the first thought that was running through Blackjack’s head. Because this was one of the few Werewolves that was known by nearly all Vampires.

The man was the Ironfang known as Luzen. There was a joke among vampires that he was perhaps the only human who was actually raised by real wolves.

Throughout the years, his appearance had only stayed the same, and no one ever heard him speak. However, the jokes of him being raised by wolves wasn’t just due to his appearance; it was a comfort among vampires, because perhaps other than the Alpha wolf himself, he was the only person that they feared.

The vampires and Werewolves had various scuffles over the years, and each time, Luzen was the person who was sent to sort out the issues between the two.

At times, he would go beyond what was necessary, at least that’s what the vampires felt.

He was a true hunter and, by far, was responsible for the most amount of Vampire deaths in this generation. The vampires had sent out a warning that if they were to come in contact with Luzen, it was always best for them to run.

Now, Blackjack was face to face with this individual, and he was sure of it, this was him, the person he was to be wary of.

‘Maybe if Edvard was here, I would feel safe, but the fact that he hasn’t even attacked and is just staring at us is giving me the creeps,’ Blackjack thought. ‘He’s even in his human form. Did he do that on purpose, so it would be too late before I even noticed him? And there’s something else that’s bothering me as well.

Although everyone knows of Luzen, there were no descriptions of him ever holding onto a bow…if this is his first time using it.’

“What are we going to do?” One of the hunters asked. “Are we going to attack or what?”

Luzen quickly pulled the bow over his head and pulled on the string. The others watching this all noticed something: there was no arrow, there was no quiver.

Luzen then opened up his mouth wide and let go of the string. There was no sound, there was no noise, and nothing visible could be seen through the air, but they could see where the bow was directed at and could hear a gasp of air come out from one of their allies.

There was a hole that had gone right through his chest, and moments later, a thud sound as his body hit the floor.

Immediately after, Blackjack swung his hand and let his blood aura loose. The familiar attack, a staple in vampires’ arsenal known as the blood swipe, was launched.

The attack went through the air toward Luzen.

“Everyone run!” Blackjack shouted. He had used his blood powers, the trait of the vampires and something that Altered nor Human could use.

It was something he had always hidden in front of the Altered hunters, but today was not the day to be keeping secrets, not in front of that, and Blackjack had made the decision it was best for them not to fight.

It was no wonder that Pluto had fallen prey to this individual. The group had quickly run together through the dense garden, unaware if they were being followed or when an attack was going to come.

An attack that they couldn’t even hear.

‘This is not good,’ Blackjack thought. ‘I’m sure of it, in his hands, what he’s using is a beast weapon, and it doesn’t seem to be an ordinary one as well. Luzen was already strong; with that weapon in his hands, he could match up to even the Vampire leaders!’ Blackjack thought.

Luzen looked as he saw the group run and muttered to himself a few words.

“The hunt has begun.”
