My Werewolf System - Chapter 1293
Chapter 1293: Waiting For A Miracle
In Blackjack’s head, the main thing they could do was buy time, buy time for a miracle to occur. Whether that be other Altered hunters to come, or for it to be something else, in the end, Blackjack found that the best choice for them was to fight.
‘The hunter’s in his best state when he’s being hunted, so why don’t we turn around and fight!’
Blackjack quickly moved though, as he jumped out of the large greenery area and went onto the path. It wasn’t particularly wide, but it was still open as well, and the others quickly followed him.
They drew their weapons, and everyone circled up as they waited.
“Do you…have a plan?” Lou said, feeling that his leg was still stinging from the bite.
“No plan,” Blackjack said. “Just we have to fight like our lives are on the line because our lives will really feel like they are on the line.”
“Then why did you choose to go out in the open like this?” Joy asked. “We’re still surrounded by trees, and he can use them to attack us from anywhere, but now we don’t have the cover of the trees.”
It was a lot of explaining for Blackjack, but they simply didn’t understand what a Werewolf hunter was like. They had no advantage in there while being tracked; there was nowhere to hide, and instead, it was all just obstacles.
The ripping through the trees, Blackjack could hear them, and nearly all of them were aimed towards him. He had a card in his hand glowing red, and he quickly moved his hand as he blocked each one.
Right after, he threw the card away with a large hole in the center, and his whole arm was numb.
‘Those arrows aren’t just silent, but they’re strong as well,’ Blackjack thought.
“Come on, Luzen, the hunt is over! Are you really going to fight using a weapon!” Blackjack shouted.
“You know this guy’s name?” Joy said in shock, but she then saw the man jump out onto the path, facing them.
The whole group pivoted as they looked at Luzen. He appeared human with the bow still in his hand, and something about the straight look on his face was frightening to them all.
“If you really do know him, and the two of you are friends, then don’t you think you should tell him to calm down a bit?” Joy said as she backed up.
“We are not friends!” Blackjack said as he took the first move and threw out a bunch of playing cards that were glowing with his blood aura. Immediately, Luzen pulled his bow and started to fire at them, and that’s when Blackjack moved in.
He swung his leg, trying to hit Luzen on the face, but it completely missed as Luzen turned around and faced the other. He fired the arrows at the rest of the group quickly. Just seeing the arrow pointed at them, most of them ducked.
While Joy, with her large sword, stood in front of Cooper, she felt a force hit her, skidding her backward and pushing the back of Cooper.
“I can fight as well, you know,” Cooper said.
“Right, but with a hit that strong, I’m worried you might break your bones!” Joy shouted.
“How did you manage to block that?” Lou asked as he had dived so far on the ground, his body was parallel with the floor.
“I was just lucky; he can’t curve the arrows or anything like that, so as long as I can see him, I can see when he pulls the string and guess when and where the arrow is going to come…I’m not a four-star hunter for no reason!” she claimed.
As the hunters were just barely struggling to block arrows, when looking ahead, they could see Blackjack fighting straight ahead.
He was going head-to-head with Luzen as he struck as fast as he could. Each hit was blocked by Luzen, casually hitting his arms and legs, but what they were amazed at was the speed that Blackjack was using.
If one had the power of Qi and such, they could see a person reaching this speed and strength, but there were things they were seeing that couldn’t be explained.
In the middle of the fight, strange red aura would come out from his fists and try to attack Luzen, but none of them were working on him either, but they still had to admit that the power did have a strange appearance.
That was when Luzen then transformed his arm and swung it upward. The claws broke right through Blackjack’s chest, cutting him and causing his body to bleed. He went back and placed his hand on his own blood.
‘Crap!’ Blackjack thought. ‘I really didn’t want to get hit, these damned Werewolves…it interferes with my healing.’
“Faster, stronger, and we have no weaknesses,” Luzen finally said as the rest of his body started to transform. Fur growing out from his body and his limbs growing longer. Yet he still held onto the bow.
Immediately, Luzen jumped back and fired from his arrow again, and now they could all see it. With each pull of the bow, they were charging into what looked like translucent glowing wolves.

They had a feeling the attack had come from Luzen, but they had no idea that it was coming from the bow itself. There were around ten of them now just standing around Luzen himself, and then he placed the bow on his back.
“It’s a shame there’s only one of you; if you were all part of the settlement, I would have gotten to over three hundred,” Luzen spoke softly as he charged forward.
